HOT AND DRY
All of us took the day off to do other things today. It was nice and warm and we decided to stay in the cool shade and rest today since we have so much work ahead. It was 90° and very few clouds with little wind which is a little unusual for this time of year.

HOT
A hot day was on tap for us today with a high of 90° and few clouds. It looks like we will have a dry and warm weekend ahead of us this week. We will not be out working today at the track.

We have rain in the forecast for next week so things may cool a little as the rain moves through early next week.

So who said it was going to be easy?

NO WORK THIS WEEKEND
The cold front which moved in last night brought much cooler weather. The front dropped our temperatures nearly 20 degrees in 2 hours from 80° to 61° and we bottomed out at 50° overnight. What a change. It was however dry and we are looking for several dry days ahead.

HALF WRONG
After the 10pm weather forecast last night the line of heavy storms which were sweeping across the Texas Panhandle and headed into Western Oklahoma. Our weather forecasters said that line would degrade before it made it into the City. They were very wrong. Those storms came across the City just before 3am this morning and had in fact built up since leaving Texas.

A cold front was to move across Oklahoma today, late in the afternoon. We were expecting more showers when this front moved across the state. That did not happen. As the front moved from the northwest to southeast a line of clouds formed but no rain fell in town.

RAIN BACK IN THE FORECAST
Today a couple of us were out working around the track. At times it looked like we were going to get rained on but the clouds stayed west of us and it was warm and dry. However the forecast changed at 10pm and the chance of rain was increased to 60% for tomorrow. At midnight there was a line of heavy storms moving in from the west. This line of storms was about 80 miles west of town at midnight and was building to the north.

We got a lot of mowing done today and it was nice seeing the grass nice a trimmed all round the track. The front of our property is starting to shape up and this Summer it should look nice. We have a huge amount of work ahead.

DRY AND WARM
We had a real nice day today even though it looked like we were going to get some rain late in the day. The storms stayed north of us and we missed out again today.

Most of the day was spent working on mowers today. Our small mower is still having a problem with the carburetor. Much of our day was spent cleaning and cleaning that carb. It looked like new but still has a problem. Our big mower throttle cable broke and will need to be replaced.

RAIN
So we had a little rain on the east side of town but the track got a lot of rain and hail again late in the day. We had hoped to get out to work today but other things happened and we did not get time to go work today.

RAIN IN THE FORECAST
WOW...
Our forecast has changed again but it is not better by any means. Our chance of rain today has lowered to 20% but the holiday weekend has seen an increase in the chance of rain and rain is in the forecast till next Thursday. Now this has been a real 'rainy season' considering we have had several heavy 'rainy seasons' in the past few years. One things about it this weather has certainly decreased our wild fire chances at least for a short time.

While talking about 'wild fires' let us take a short look at a relatively new web site that is starting to get a lot of attention in the New England states. The message can apply for us as well and considering it is time to get out and about something we need to think about.

RAIN IN THE FORECAST
It was again dry but the wind was low today and we had Spring weather. Our weekend forecast has changed overnight. Now we have a 30% or better chance of rain till Tuesday and then it drops to 20%. Not a welcome forecast with a 3 day weekend coming up.

Speaking of the 3 day weekend. We want to wish everyone a safe and fun Memorial Weekend Holiday. Let us remember our Veterans and also those who serve today for our freedoms. Good luck to those who are traveling to Albuquerque for the SPRING NATIONAL.

DRY AND WINDY
This dry weather is nice but we all know this is not the time of year for many days without rain. It was nice again today with warm days and the over night temperatures have been really nice, not to warm not to cool. The heating bill will be much lower this month. Now if we can just keep down the bill for air conditioning!

RAIN IN THE FORECAST
So we knew the dry weather would not last to long this time of the year. It was nice again today but now we have a chance of rain starting Friday thru the weekend. We have a lot of mowing to be started yet but things are starting to green up now. Our damaged trees are starting to cover over with leaves which means we have plenty of shade around the north side of the track.

The area where the old oil well site was cleaned up is now a mess and bare. We had been told this area was seeded but that was not the case. Most of the other work sites got sod installed but not our site. More work for us.

NICE DAY
We could not have ask for much better of a day. The weather was about perfect except for our windy conditions, just a typical Oklahoma day. Things are starting to dry out now so maybe we can get on the track to get some mowing and other things done now. We have not been able to walk around near the track with all this rain we have had.

NO RAIN, GOOD WEATHER AHEAD
Oh what a great day with no rain and clearing skies. Today we had a low of 50° and a high of 72° and little wind, a fine day. We had no work scheduled for today. All of us had other things on our plate for today.

We do have some work in our schedule for the end of this month. Work is still going to get our building permit. This has already been a lot of work and we have much more ahead.

DRY DAY
Is it a mistake, we had no rain today. Our weather was nice with a little wind but that just started us to get more drying in today. It was a little cooler today than yesterday with our high in the lower 70's unlike yesterday which saw 84°. Todays average wind speed was 15.2mph with a gust to 48mph.

MORE RAIN, GOOD WEATHER AHEAD
Today was an instant replay of the other night when heavy storms moved through town about 10pm. Once again high winds, rain, hail but the lightning was not as intense as the other night. We got more than an inch of rain over most of the city.

DRY DAY
What a nice day since we got no rain all day. Things are so saturated from all the heavy rain we have had did dry a little but it may not matter much since we have more rain ahead tomorrow and maybe Saturday. We may have a few rain free days next week, we hope so. morning.

MORE RAIN, MORE AHEAD
Once again we had more than one rain event. Starting early this morning at 1am and again at about 10pm. The later storms were pretty intense with very high winds, rain, hail and lots of lightning. That storm was a bumpy ride for much of the city. We lucked out however as again there were no tornadoes.

MORE RAIN, MORE AHEAD
Today the rain came to town about 9am. We had a good shower at first then some on again off again heavy rain for about half an hour. The wind came up the rain started to fall. Then we had some drying but not for long. It looks like we will be get more rain late tonight or very early in the morning.

MORE RAIN, MORE AHEAD
Well before sun up the rain started. At about 5am rain moved across the city and dropped a little over one tenth of an inch officially at Will Rogers, many places got more. We also had some winds today after the rain had moved out. Our weather forecast now has a chance of rain till Sunday.

As it stands it looks like we will have a wet track next weekend. We will be out working if there is no rain. We need to work on the track due to all the damage from all the rain we have had. We may be able to work on finishing filling the ditches for our track drainage. We still have one drain to install.

MORE RAIN, MORE AHEAD
It started off dry but as the day went on the rain moved in. It started to rain in places about noon and we had several rounds of light rain and mist in between most of the afternoon.

Mowing today was a little damp but we got much done in a short time with the help of the Dixon mower. Our other mower is down now with carb problems. It may be some time before we get it operational.

RAIN
The weather was much cooler today and we got rain early in the morning and just after sundown. Not much rain but rain just the same and we have more in the forecast for tomorrow. Our forecast is not to nice with rain ahead till next Thursday.

We did have time today to work on the mowers and get the weedeater out to start working on the grass. Things are getting green with all this rain. can avoid more rain. The place is greening up nicely in many places.

MORE RAIN
It was damp again today and we got a few very light rain showers but no heavy storms. Things are going to start floating here soon if we don't get some dry days. We have had rain 12 of the last 13 days, it may have been only a trace but it was wet. Our April showers have carried over into May.

DAMP THEN DRY
We had rain in the forecast but it never made it here today. It looked like it could rain any minute and it was humid till around 2pm. Then it heated up but the moisture moved away and we made it another day without rain. The grass is really growing and we will be out mowing this weekend if we can avoid more rain. The place is greening up nicely in many places.

NO RAIN
We made it to a day without rain take was nice but things are really wet and will stay wet for some days. All the rain has soaked everything and it has caused much erosion on the track. Our drainage system has proved to be at least adequate for this round of rainy days. We still have much to do to finish this but things are working well.

10 DAYS OF RAIN
We got an early storm today with the rain starting about 9am and moving over most of the day till about 8pm. There were moderate showers but mostly light rain and again no tornadoes. South of us about 120 miles a town has already has almost 40 inches of year this year, their yearly average is 23 inches. Glad we don't live there.

DAMP AND RAINY
No storms today but we did have a light shower or two late in the day. We are at 9 days of rain. The jet stream has stalled over Oklahoma and it is dragging moisture and warm temperatures to build rain storms over us. It would be nice to dry out a little to get some work finished on the track.

RAIN
Early morning rain and a cloudy damp day is what we had today. We have more rain in the forecast, till Wednesday. Things are really wet now, this is a good day if you are looking at drainage. Our weather has been great for watching the drainage system. Also bad since we can't fill in the ditches till it dries out.

STORMS, MORE TO COME?

NO STORMS, LIGHT RAIN
Late in the evening it started to rain. We lucked out tonight as the rain was light starting with a mist for 4 hours. We had planned to go out to work tomorrow on the track but it looks like rain may be here for the day. The track may be in muddy condition. We will have to wait to see.

RAIN AHEAD
AS we said yesterday it is beginning to look like we are in our 'rainy season' mode again. We did not get rain today but we still have rain in the forecast for the next week. I may be the weather forecasters are 'covering' because they are unsure what will happen.

While now we are hoping for rain all the other tracks around a hoping it goes away. We need rain to be able to work on the track since we are still working to get a building permit so we can have water.

HEAVY STORMS, RAIN
It is beginning to look like we are in our early 'rainy season' with all the rain we have had lately. We got just over 2 inches today but no severe storms in towns today and the wind was much lower than it has been when we have been getting rain.

DRY AND WINDY
The last couple weeks has been almost a 'cut and paste' time with days of rain and dry days like today. We were cooler today and we were dry but the wind has gone away again today unlike yesterday. We have more rain in the forecast with a chance of rain the next 7 days. Maybe we can get some time to start working on the track and get some of it in shape.

The well site clean up is now completed and all the equipment has been remioved from our property. Most of the debris was removed and they said grass sead was put down in the area.

MORE RAIN TODAY
We have been getting rain and it is starting to get more frequently as the days go by. Most of the heavy rain missed us again today and wnet south and east of town. We barely got enough to wet things down or knock down the dust as we say here. We did have a nice day on tap before the rain started.

04-26-2009
HEAVY STORMS, WIND, RAIN
Most of the day was nice if the humidity did not bother you. We did have a cooler day, clouds but the winds stayed with us. At 10pm we had a line of heavy rain with high winds move across town. Most of town got at least a quarter inch of rain, many got over a half inch. The only tornado seen today was out in open country and there was not much damage.

WINDY AND DRY
It was a day which we spent working on equipment but not at the track. We did yearly maintenance work on mowers mostly to get ready for the mowing season ahead. One mower will require a new carburetor and new gas line to get in shape.

It was nice today but the winds are still up and we had gusts near 40mph most all day. We did however miss out on the storms which stayed west and north of the city.

WELL SITE CLEAN UP
Today marked the completion of the work where the old well was located. As expected there is much work to be done in that area even though 'the clean up' is finished. It will be some time till this area will look nice again. At least the well site is gone along with the safety hazard. this year.

The weather was nice again today with the high for the day coming in at 84°.We had some wind today that cooled it down so the warm weather seemed cooler. We have rain in the forecast for most of the next week starting tonight.

MORE PROBLEMS AHEAD
As this project goes along there are days when things seem to just build as the day goes on. Today was another one of those days. It seems there can not be many more barriers can be put in our way. It is one thing to start all over again but another when what looks like a small hill becomes a mountain range. Better days are ahead.

The weather was warm for this time of year today. For Spring we had Summer like weather today with the high of 87° and the wind started to crank up a notch or two.

MOTORCYCLE RIDER
Another day we have gone to the track to discover someone on a motorcycle has been out riding the track again. This time it looks like there was only one rider and the time on the track was very short since there was few tire tracks. Maybe the trenchs from our drainage work slowed down what riding has happened.

OTHER WORK
Another one of our days we spent doing other things. We did go to the track today and no one has been riding since our last 4 wheeler ride. Things are starting to green up around the property and mowing will be a big job again this year.

RAIN?
No onw was at the track early today. Most of us got a good rain and things stayed wet most of the day but that didn't stop us from going out to work. To wet to use any equipment it was hand work. The weather was beautiful and it was nice to be in the sunshine and outside working.

RAIN AND WORK
Today the weather was nice for most of the day but rain came after dark. About 8pm a line of storms started moving across the City area. The center of as low pressure zone came spinning across the state this evening with high winds, hail and rain.

More track drainage work today with the 1st turn getting most of the attention. We did get one ditch filled in today. If we don't get much rain tonight we may be out working tomorrow. Dirt was added to the smaller south platform.

MORE RAIN, NOT HERE
Our weather was nice today, but we have more rain coming. Most of the rain is north and east of town. As it stands it looks like most of the rain will fall outside town and we may not get rain.

Our storage building work is under way and we will be looking to start work to pour our concrete slab as soon as we have the building permit in hand.

MORE RAIN
The weather was nice today, but it looks like we have more rain coming in from the west tonight. A line is building in western Oklahoma and is moving east. It may fall apart before it gets to town and we may not get rain tonight but we have rain in the forecast for the next few days.

WET
With all the rain we had things are a little drier today but not dried out. This week we will not be able to work on the track after the rain. No one was able to get away to work before it dries out again. Some areas are a little to wet to work on now but we did not have the big mud holes we have seen after this rain. Our drainage system is not finished but it worked well. It should be much better after we get the ditches filled and make some trenches to guide the water to drains.

RAIN AND MORE RAIN
It was bound to happen, no doubt about it. While we have a few big ditches dug on the track we got a good rain. Word is we got about an inch and a half or rain in the last 24 hours. The track is soaked, deep soaked since most of the rain was light rain which was good for the freshly built track.

Work began to get things together for our new gate. One job we have to complete before the new track can be used for racing or practice.

PERMIT WORK
We are hard at work on getting a building permit for our little project. WORK DAY
The weather was nice today, it started out a little cool but warmed up to 70° for a high and the winds stayed low again today after calming down yesterday afternoon.

A couple of us were out working today on drainage for the track. We have most of the pipe laid in the ditches. We worked to dig more ditches and started to fill some in on the track. Filling in the ditches will require a little machine work since there was some much dirt moved for the pipe. We still have several hundred feet of ditch to dig to direct water away from the track.

NOT A NATURAL DISASTER
The fires have for the most part been put out now in the city area. We had a cold front move in late last night and as the wind shifted from west to north most of the fires here in the city died down. After daylight investigators looked for the cause of the fire which burned so many homes here in town. It has been determined the fire was caused by arson.

NATURAL DISASTER
Another day of high winds but this day turned into a real disaster for many due to wild fires and the wind. At one time there were 22 working wild fires in the state of Oklahoma. One of those was on the east side of Oklahoma City about 6 miles east of the track. That fire burned many homes, at 10pm today they estimated 100 homes had burned to the ground in the city alone. Luck was on our side as there were no deaths and few injuries.

WORK DAY
A cold front came in over night and cooled things off a little but the wind has not let up for several days now. Yesterday we were wind blown and sand blasted by the wind. Today was a little cooler but the wind did geive up a little bit. We managed to get well over 200 feet of ditch dug and laid before the sun went down for the day. No dirt was placed over the pipe but it is cut and installed in the ditches.

Our weather is forecast to get cold again one last time for the year both today and tomorrow then we will warm up on Tuesday afternoon. We have rain in the forecast for Thursday and Sunday ahead.

The cold front came but the rain stayed east of us again today. There was a few very light showers in town but thay didn't even make the pavement wet. The wind blew and our temperature dropped most of the day. We may even have a light freeze tonight.

We had a smaller lighter line come around just before midnight. The temperature dropped about 30° when the front came into town this evening.

The forecast for this week has a chance of rain Tuesday evening, Wednesday and Saturday.

TRACK WORK
One would have thought that with the moisture we have had this last week our track would have been a big mud hole but that was not the case. Since we have been getting moisture and the track has been built one thing is sure our dirt behaves different than the soil at the old track.

We took off another day to get some other work done. Today was not a day to be outside working anyway due to the weather. It was kinda cold and wet outside today with a '30mph' wind. It was off to the races with the weather today with ice/sleet/snow and rain. The forecast blizzard stayed to the north of town.

MORE MOISTURE
It was dry and a little cooler this morning but the moisture was on its way to the City early. At about 6am parts of town had mist and very light rain. As the day progressed the rain turned to sleet and back to rain. Some parts of town get heavy rain but most was moderate. No snow or icing conditions as the temps stayed above freezing until very late in the day.

Considering the moisture we have had today and the forecast for tomorrow we will not be out at the track working Saturday. Our forecast has a chance of 3-6 inches of snow. If the weather forecast is close to correct we may be able to get a little time to work the track on Sunday.

Track drainage pipe quote received today.

Today we were working on drawings again to try to get our building permit. It looks like we will be working to get that permit sometime next week. If that is successful we may have water to work on the track soon and we will be working to get our electricity strung to our temporary power pole.

It was dry today but we have a wet few days ahead with rain/snow/sleet and freezing rain in the forecast for the next couple days. Sunday may be a day when we are able to go work on the track, if we get enough moisture to saturate the surface.

MATERIAL
Material, one word in our vocabulary which has several meanings. Could be a possession or belonging, it could be something to build with. Today we use it in a sense of items to build something. We have had much material used so far to build the new track and we will be using much more. The work continues.

Our weather forecast has rain and/or snow coming in Friday and Saturday. Considering what we see we may be able to work on the track Sunday. That is totally dependent on Mother Nature and the moisture situation.

Our gate material was delivered today. We will not start on this project for a few days.

DRY TRACK?
We got out the rakes to work on the track today after our rain. It was not a good day for raking. We stopped as soon as we started after finding out the rain didn't do us much good, the track was dry. We did have a few spots where water was standing, those places were wet. But if there was not standing water, well it was to dry to work on. We have more rain in the forecast before the weekend, maybe it will get wet enough to work on soon.

As mentioned yesterday this was to be a test of our new track. Well with over an inch of rain falling there was not much to talk about other than our puddles. A quick look around told us all the places we are putting in drains are the places there needs to be drainage.

RAIN!
Well after waiting many days for rain we finally got some rain today. Most of the good stuff was gone before midnight and the National Weather Service at Will Rogers Airport shows 1.35 inch fell overnight. This was the first real rain since the track was built and it will be a test for how it will perform after rain events.

Our storage building sheet goods were put in storage today. A nice sized building will be built to store our inventory of equipment. More well site clean-up work.

LITTLE WORK
We tried to get the Bobcat out to work today but things just would not work for us. After much work we decided to go without any power tools today and get a little light work done. We worked on getting some measurements on top of the starting hill to get some drawings of the new gate slab ready. Some thigs must be going right considering we checked our hill for level and we found out it is only 1 inch out of level from side to side. Not bad for 'eyeballing it', now to get some wood for the forms, rebar and wire mesh to reinforce it.

TRACK DAMAGE
It seems there are always some people who do not care about what they do. With the building of our track has come some real hill climbers who thought they could drive the track. Well needless to say they did not make it over the first jump they tried to drive over but they did some damage to the track.

The Super National has started and you can watch the action at Go211.com, watch the live webcast.

GOOD LUCK!

Material for the new gate was ordered today. This material will be delivered later since we ordered special items to fabricate the gate. We picked up the sheet goods for the Storage building today. The clean-up of the old well site started today.

RAIN TO THE SOUTH
For March today was a good day but there was no rain in town. All the rain stayed south and east of us. Our forecast has changed with rain out till after the weekend. With no moisture this week we will not be work on grooming the track this weekend. Most of our volunteers will be gone to DeSoto Texas to the ABA Super National this weekend.

Speaking of the Super National we want to wish all riders a safe and fun time in Texas this coming weekend. Going to a National event is great fun and we are lucky to have many National events which are close.
GOOD LUCK!

DO WE HAVE RAIN AHEAD?
Today we had nearly clear skies for most of the day. Just before sundown some clouds moved in but there has been no rain yet. We have a chance of rain in the forecast till next Tuesday. We hope to get a little rain so we can start work on grooming the track.

Our second power rake was received today. It is now ready to go to work. We fabricated the 'eye brackets' to mount the cylinder for the new gate today.

FABRICATION
One of the jobs we have ahead is building and installing our gate. We are planning to work on this a little this coming weekend. We need to prepare the top of the starting hill for the concrete slab for the gate. We still have to get a gate but that will come in time. We also hope there is a little rain on the way so we can get in some work on the track this weekend, we will have to see what happens.

A request for quote for the track drainage pipe went out today. We paid the bill for the big loader today.

NICE DAY
Our weather has been nice for the last couple days. Although we need rain or some kind of moisture it is not to be for at least a few more days. What little rain we did get last week was not enough to start work on grooming the track. That area of town got about a third of an inch of rain. That was way short of getting much wet or even damp.

Second power rake purchased today, like the other one it will be shipped to us. We also purchased the material to fabricate the mounts for the cylinder for the new gate today.

We will be out working at Trosper today. we will not be there till after noon as we still have rain moving in to the City area. At 10am there was light drizzle falling. That is good. LUCKY DAY
Here we are on Friday the 13th and it was a lucky day for us. The rain that was in our forecast never made it to town and now we are working on getting dried out. There was rain around but it all stayed south and southwest of us. If it stays that way till Saturday noon we my be able to work at Trosper both days this weekend. We will post early Saturday morning what we have for a schedule.

Our power rake was received today and is ready to go to work.

ICE AND SNOW
With freezing temps we had freezing rain to start of the day. Rain moved in overnight then the temperature dropped and we had freezing rain which later turned to snow after sunrise. COLD AGAIN
Wind has come back with a cold front and we dropped around 40° today compared to yesterday. It still is Winter, the warm dry weather has been nice. However we needed some moisture and it came as rain last night here in town. The north side of town got heavier storms, no tornadoes, with some high winds. We have more rain in the forecast after tomorrow night till Sunday.

If we get rain late this week we may not be able to work at the track this weekend. The weather will determine this till we have water. We will post what will be ahead for the weekend.

Our storage building was ordered today. It will be ready for pick up in about a week.

'The wind has come back and things are blowing up a storm today' It was same words we posted just 3 days ago, they apply for today. It looks like we have rain coming today with a line moving in from the southwest. Some of this line is heavy storms but no tornadoes. We need rain.
There was no work at Trosper today. Other things had to be done. We are planning to work at the track this coming weekend if the weather works out.

We received quote on storage building. Hinges for new gate bought.

EARTHQUAKE
So way out of the ordinary for this place we had an earthquake today. So of us were in bed at about 8am this morning. There was a rumble like a strike lightning, then the ground shook for about 10 seconds. Quite a sensation. The center of the quake was about 5 miles southeast of downtown Oklahoma City not far (just over a mile) from our new track facility. This quake was at least the fifth earthquake felt in Oklahoma during 2009.
We had the Bobcat out working today. We worked on the 'supply pile' of dirt, more work to knock it down in size. There were a few visitors today, some riders who noticed our work at the old BMX track location. We purchased a power rake today, it will be shipped in later this week.

It was nice today as the forecast had shown, we had a little wind but not bad. Things have changed as predicted earlier this week with the daily high creeping up as the week went a long. If we could get some rain in the forecast and on the ground we would be a lot better off.

Today we worked on the north side ditch. This area will need much more work in the future but when finished it will be a popular place for watching races.

WINDY WEATHER
The wind has come back and things are blowing up a storm today. It was overcast all day but none of the clouds had rain for us. Those clouds raced by all day and we had a high today near 90°. The wind is to stay for a few more day so the weekend will be windy as well.
The rain has now moved to Sunday and the chance has increased to 30%. If we could get some of that rain stuff during the week now so we could get to work on the track.

We had a little time in the evening today so we worked on drainage on the east side of the track near the finish line and between the finish line and staging.

LOADER GONE
Things are changing and today we sent the big loader back after we had waited for 3 days to have it picked up from Trosper. It was fun while it lasted but it was time to get to other work. Most of our work ahead will be with the Bobcat, if it is dirt work that is. We still have a huge amount of dirt to be moved and huge amount of landscaping to do so our dirt work will continue for another year.
The weather today was much better but the forecast has rain for the weekend with a 20% chance of rain Saturday and Saturday night. We could sure use some rain.

BETTER WEATHER
Things have begun to settle from the weekend. Racing at Sooner State BMX last Sunday left some memories with all the riders who attended. Work has been done to change the last straight of their track. Also they have built stands (if you will) over the starting gate and finish line. One year of operation, with many changes. They have many more challenges ahead.
Compared to the last weekend today was down right nice, dry but nice and tomorrow and the rest of the week looks better. Now if we could get a little something we don't ask for much, rain. In another month we will be complaining about rain but we need some now.

WORK EVENING
Our pile of dirt is now much smaller. Now nick named the 'supply pile' it is about 20% the size it was when the track build started. Most of the left over dirt has been used to build raised areas for watching races. Since some of the track is raised 3 feet above most of the south side of the track so we decided to raise the viewing areas on the south side. One area has been roughly built, the smaller area. We have a larger area still in the works. The larger area will have good sight of the entire track when completed. One day we may even have some bleachers to set there. The north side of the track is raised well above the track and has great viewing of all the track.
The weather today was much better than Friday and Saturday. Most of the wind was gone and it was warm enough for some to open a window while driving. The rest of the week look warm and dry.

Our last day to use the big loader. We will call to have it picked up later today. It was fun using this piece of equipment but it costs a lot to have it on site.

1st RACE, MORE WIND, COLD, WORK DAY
Today marks the opening of Sooner State BMX in Ponca City. Once again we have 3 operating tracks in the state with our new track about to get of the ground. Things concerning BMX in Oklahoma can sometimes change like our weather, in a heartbeat. This is happening.

Our weather has let up a little and it was better today but still windy and dry. It was warmer and if you could stay out of the wind it was bearable to be outside. Good enough for a 1st race of the year.

We did get some work started today at the track. Not a lot of work was done since it was so cool today.

WINDY AND COLD
Our weather has again changed and we have more wind and a cool down in store. A lack of rain is again looming with the winds and the fact most of the lower half of Oklahoma is under a burn ban does not make things any better.
No work at the track today due to the weather conditions. Looks like we will be out working tomorrow if the weather forecast is correct. There is still a large pile of dirt which needs to be moved and we have to start building our drainage system now that the track has been built. The drainage work is a large job which we have been addressing since we started work to build the new track. The nice things about this work now is that it is on the downhill side now with most of the job completed outside the track. What is left is draining the track itself. Since the track had to be built so we could plan our drain areas we are starting this task. It looks like due to the natural lay of the land and the track we will have 5-6 drains to install. All the drain pipes will cross the track.

We worked to finish building a raised area on the south side of the track. This area will be raised so you can see the track better since it is 2-3 feet above the area off the track. As it stands there will be a couple of these raised areas on the south side. The north side is already raised about 4-5 feet above the track.
We had great weather again today. Short sleeve weather most of the day. It was nice but a little windy, a strong south wind.

After yesterday many have a lot of work ahead. After the storms cleared 2 people died in the tornadoes yesterday. The days our weather forecasters know there is bad stuff coming they do a good job of staying on top of the storms and warning us. A TV or radio is a must here for our weather.
Let the cleanup begin, we had not damage at Tropser Park other than rain. Considering our track is about 1/4 completed we had no damage. Others will be cleaning for many days. We have rain in the forecast for Tuesday next week.

Another day of heavy storms with 5 tornadoes in the City area today. We will not know all the damage for a few days but there were many places kissed by Mother Nature in a bad mood today. Some got very high winds while others got an experience like no other. As of this time there have been no deaths and few injuries. There was a lot of property damage, downed power lines and poles, damaged vehicles, closed streets and highways. Hail in places very near the size of a softball (4 inches) in diameter, straightline winds near 100mph along with the tornado damage. Not a pretty site today. We are now into February, 2009 points are final and most have changed their number plate with the 2009 number. One more month is ahead before we will start our Spring rain season. What will the weather be? Wet or dry and most important is how will it time with events. The last 3 years have been not so good on the timing. Many events are cancelled due to moisture events. Most do not see the amount of work most tracks require to maintain the track surface due to moisture events. Most of the time however we have been very lucky in the Central USA. Some moisture events in 2009 caused the cancellation of the Redline Cup Final - Central, this race was finally ran over a month later due to the damage left behind after heavy rains.

NICE WEATHER DAY
The weather today was again nice and dry. Again we had no work at the track. Things are starting to dry out now. To bad the track is not built, we could have done most of the work to finish jumps and turns without any water. Work sould start soon on the clean up of the old well site. We will update as that work goes on.

NO WORK DAY
With all the dirt work we have going on around the property we are still not able to navigate our work area due to the ICE STORM and all the moisture left behind. Most all the ice/sleet/snow has melted only very shaded areas are left. Our weather ahead for the week looks fine and dry. We hope the weekend weather is nice so we can get back to work.

NO WORK DAY
Once again we took the day off work at Trosper. We had other fish to fry and did no work related to the track to except updating this site page. We had some great weather today with the high being 64° and mostly clear skies all day. Things around here were doing a lot of defrosting today and most of the ice/sleet/snow is now melted off. It might be dry enough to get some work in tomorrow.

LOOK BACK
With a hew year we will see some changes in 'LOOK BACK' as we have been lucky enough to get some real prime 'Old School' stuff for a history lesson on ABA BMX back in the early 1990s.
We will be posting some pictures of racing at Sooner Pearl bac when it was a new track! Can we say this enough? Awesome........
We look forward to hearing from many more Trosper BMX riders and others who may want to add to our look at BMX History in Oklahoma. Contact Richard Axtell at richard@okbmx.com

NO WORK DAY
Our weather today was nice for Winter and we had a lot of melting today. Today we did not work at Trosper due to the muddy conditions. It may be a couple of days before things are dry enough to get out and work since we had so much moisture fall and it has still not all melted. We will not be out to work tomorrow due to the wet conditions.

WORK DAY
Today we completed the rough in of the north ditch. Now all our heavy work has been completed and the bulldozer was picked up. Till Billy Allen makes his way back to town to complete the track we will be working on the gate, electrical, water, security and getting our sign installed. We may be on our way to getting some help with our permit issue. This will clear up the water and electrical issues. Then we can get wiring ran for the starting hill and starting light. We still have may items on our list of jobs for this project. Soon we will be asking for help to finish grooming the track to make it smooth enough to ride.

WORK DAY
Another day of dozer work was on tap for today. We were not able to complete the 'north ditch work' today but it looks like the rough-in work will be completed tomorrow. We will have the dozer picked up after that work is completed. Now all the heavy work is tied to the track build and drainage after the track build.

ICE STORM 2009
For the most part the Ice Storm is over for now. Although not nearly as severe as the Ice Storm of 2007 none the less it was a day to remember. After it was all over the track property was covered with 3 inches of ice, sleet and snow. More ice and sleet than snow. Most everything closed or cut back on hours today due to the road conditions, many businesses closed early yesterday due to the weather.
Needless to say we did not work at Tropser today due to the weather. Monday evening after the Ice Storm started we had some problems leaving the track property due to the freezing rain and ice covered streets.

THE WORD IS OUT
Some would know that Sooner Pearl was absent from Sooner National in 2009. A most unfortunate thing in a big sense but even worse would have been missing a huge opportunity. Since Billy Allen was in town and we need a track built it was very nice of ABA to make him available to build our new track. So many are asking when will it be finished? We have access to Billy till Thursday night. He will then leave for other scheduled track work. Our weather will determine if it is finshed soon or as much as a month from now due to scheduling.

ONE JOB ALMOST FINISHED, START MORE
Most of the ditch on the north side of the track has been cut. We have a lot of dirt to move from this work and we hope to have this finished tomorrow. The other ditches will wait for another day. Next we will look at getting drain pipes installed for the track. These will not be installed until the track is built which may be a while.

MORE DOZER WORK
Today we finished moving dirt from the track area. Most of the dirt went into 2 large pile to use for building the track. Now we will start working on ditches for drainage around the track area. North of the track area will get a wide shallow ditch to drain the track 1st straight and some of the area on the north side of the track. At least 3 more will have to be made when the track is built, we will also have to install drain pipes but we will wait till the track is built for those.

DOZER WORK NEARS END
This was supposed to be the end of the dozer work but we still have a little more work to finish. Now we have 75 percent of the track area cleared and we have been working to form more jumps. At the rate we have been moving it may be some time till we have the rest of the jumps and turns in and ready to groom.
Those who have already volunteered to help groom and finish the track will need to start getting ready for some rake time. We will post as soon as we are ready for some help. Now where is a Power Rake for sale?

MORE DOZER WORK
After a week of pushing the pile on thetrack area is much smaller now and well over half the track area cleared now. The last part is the hardest and deepest part of the pile. The clay dirt is starting to dry out on the surface and that stuff is very hard to break up to move. We had hoped to be finished tomorrow but it looks like Friday may be the end.

WHERE IS THE DIRT?
This week has been a battle of sorts. A battle of man and machine against dirt. At first the dirt was winning, coming in at a high rate and we found out today some dirt fled the jobsite to come to Trosper Park. All total (this is from the experts) there was 276 loads delivered. This is 5520 yards of dirt.
Now this week the men and machines have been winning the battle. Now with a little over half the track area uncovered the dirt has lost its grip and is loosing ground. Soon man and machine will prevail and relegate the dirt to only piles.

GOOD DAY OF WORK
It was not cold but not warm. But the day proved to be a good day for getting some dirt moved today. Only cold feet when it was all over. A few more days like that and we will be finished with the moving dirt fun.
Now we have less than a week till the Sooner National. Our closest National race of the year. How lucky are we? A National event in our backyard! More on this race as the week progresses.

Guess what we did today? Did your guess have anything to do with dirt? If not then you were wrong. Our job is not easy but it must be done. It is dirty work but someone has to do it. Any little boy would love to be where we are these days. Just pushin' dirt with a BIG TOY dozer.

VERY COLD
Some would say this is a typical Winter day but if you had been out working outdoors all day you would say it was anything but typical and was also looking for a warm place to defrost. With a high of only 25° it was not any place to be if you had to work outside. We also had a stiff north wind which pushed the wind chill down to about 7°. Not bad if you consider the weather north of us with sub zero wind chill and sub zero highs for the day.
Today we said goodbye to a piece of equipment we had rented to start work on the track. Our front-end loader took a ride back to the shop today for some well deserved rest. We had used it for several weeks and have now completed the work we had for it. Now we have to get a bigger unit to start the new track build.

WORK DAY
Another fuel day was on tap for today with 6 runs to the gas station to top off the equipment. Thank goodness it was a nice day and we had some fun out working today. We also had a good deal of work which needed to be finished before the loader is picked up tomorrow. Most of that work was finished today and we will complete the work tomorrow if things don't completely freeze.

COLD WEATHER AHEAD
We were blessed with another good day of weather today. We got a lot of dirt pushed around yesterday but we still have a huge pile to move. That job will take some time however we have time now and if the weather stays above freezing it will go much faster. Thursday looks to be the coldest day ahead of us this week. Bone chilling teens are in the forecast for the day and there is a slight chnce for snow. We could use the moisture as it has been many days since we have had any real moisture here. We will be hoping (as we do most of the time) the moisture will stay away so we can finish moving dirt.

DOZER WORK
Today we had nice weather for most of the day but things started down hill about an hour before dark. More fuel and then off to the work at hand, moving a big pile of dirt. Things are starting to move along now. Today OG&E was out and installed poles and wire for the electric service. We will not have power for a few days since there is more work needed to have everything tied up but it won't be long now.
One thing we do need to do is say THANK YOU to all the people who have came out to inspect the work and see what is going on. We have had some very good comments so far and we are just getting started. With any luck we will have our water working and electric soon. As we said months ago, we have a short list. Water, power and dirt to get things off and running. One item is here and the others are working.
We also heard some good news about our well site clean up today. It sounds like the contract is about to be bid and we have been told the work will start in the next month. Good timing and we will have this completed before the track is open.

WORK DAY
With keys in hand and Old Man Winter knocking on the door we got an early start today on our small project. First it was fuel for the equipment and then off to work for all of us. Some are saying 'to much dirt' then we say it will go fast. Others say 'the starting hill needs to be bigger' and so it goes at the local BMX track. The plan have been laid out and there is no going back now. Just a whole lot of dirt to work with and all of it has to be moved first!

DOZER WORK
What can we say it has started and there is no stopping us now. We had all decided to take off Monday evening then there was people out working so we changed our mind and working anyway. The dozer will be getting a real workout starting yesterday till we have moved all the dirt off the area where the track is to be built.
We worked again tonight and the dirt is moving for us now. What a big job this is going to be. Since it took 7 days to deliver and make this pile it will take at least that amount of time to move it our of the way.

More cold weather was on tap for today and we all decided to take a day off after 4 solid days of work over the holiday weekend. We still have some final paperwork to finish for the re-location and this will be in works the next few days as our deadline is drawing near.
OG&E was out today surveying the newly cleared path for our new electric service. We are hoping to see this work started in the next week or so, after that we should have power for our work area. We are working to plan our new lighting soon but this will have to wait till the track is built.

The weather took a turn for cold today but we were hard at work on the new track even with the cold weather. We are near complete on roughing in the first straight and will be working to start the second straight and second turn with the loader and Bobcat.
