06-30-2008 CONJECTURE AND OTHER THINGS
There was an unique email sent to me the other day.
Some have said I should reply so here is my reply
Dear Rider,
Your email was as entertaining to me as it was for you judging from the
ending statement. As for your overall statement it reminds me of a
'conjecture'
and could even relate to a
'conditional proof'.
conjecture. I have put in links to wikipedia.org for those who are not
familiar with those terms. At least that is what I think however it may
also be a
'counterexample'
but I a leaning toward the 'conditional proof'.
Email me any time you need!

After the race yesterday we went to Trosper had got a little work done. We
had several piles of illegally dumped trash which was cleaned up this
weekend and last weekend, we almost filled a 40 yard dumpster. We do still
have a little left to pick up but we are at 95% today. We got a little more
mowing done today and some other work as well. It was a good day to be out
working since it was about 85° which is about 10° cooler than it
has been for the last week. All in all we got a lot done this weekend.
TOP OF PAGE 06-28-2008 SOONER STATE GAMES RACE
So things got off to a slow start at the race today. There was a delay of
about a hour to get motos posted, they were posted 5 times before all the
corrections were ironed out. It seems Sooner State Games was way short on
shirts so many did not get their shirts today. There was only one person
representing the Sooner State Games at the race, that was a photographer
and we are not sure just who the pictures were for but he did take many
pictures. Track concessions was another problem today, no change, run out
of drinks, no cold drinks, no hot dog buns. The 10 minute intermission
seemed to drag on and was really about 45 minutes. The riders had fun and
the racing was great as was the medal awards which was a good change from
trophies.

Once there was a thought and now it is becoming a reality. We have started
to post info on our 'LOOK BACK' at BMX history in Oklahoma. It has been a
great time talking to some of the many riders who have been involved in BMX
and now we have a place to share those memories. We look forward to seeing
input from many more people. Our history reaches back into the 1970's and
has seen many events and facilities come and go. Help us look into our

With all the work getting done in the background we took a day off to get
some work done around the house today. We did some work on a surprise item
we will be 'looking' at in the near future. Things are starting to pick up
a little and we are glad to see some real progress under way on the new
track. Now we need to get some dirt to work with.

Today we met with our excavator to talk money and schedule the work. Now we
will wait till we have the DEQ permit and this work will start about 10
days later. We will be working to get the drainage and culverts installed
then the gravel for the parking area will be delivered. We hope to have
OERB out to clean up the abandonded well site during this time. So we may
have some heavy construction started in the next couple weeks.

TOP OF PAGE 06-22-2008 WORK DAY
It was nice to get to Trosper Park without any problems today. We got an
early start and made some good head way on mowing and trash clean-up. We
mowed about 5-6 acres and filled a 40 yard dumpster half full today. The
volunteers who came out to help did a lot of work and had some fun. We even
left for home before sundown. As always our volunteers 'kick' and we really
appreciate their hard work. We even came up with a nickname for the Dixon
riding mower 'Ole Blue'. Mowing is so much better now with this great
mower.

Somehow it seems some of yesterdays luck was around today. After getting
ready to leave for Trosper we had a flat on the old trailer. Nail in the
sidewall. Just so happens there was no spare so we gingerly drove back to
unload everything and reload on the new trailer. It was some work so we
did not get much done at Trosper. We did test the new trailer and it is a
dream compared to the old trailer.

TOP OF PAGE 06-20-2008 NO RAIN
We started out the afternoon by going over and getting the Bobcat from
our storage area. Then we made a round trip to fill up the tank and get air
in one of the tires on the Bobcat. Getting diesel fuel and air at the gas
station is hard to do in some parts of town. After 2 stations and a filled
tank we then had to go to a 3rd station to get air. It was then time to
head to the house for the day. We wanted to get ready to work Saturday.

Ever have a day which you have all this work to do but nothing seems to get
done? Not only that but we got more rain very early today. Now that we are
halfway into the year it is looking like we may have another year like 2007
or 2005 when the area tracks seemed to cancel more than race.
Speaking of races the Double/Double at
Sooner State BMX

PRO-AM purse already there is more to come. A list of goodies which will be

It seems like every other day it has rain in the last month. One thing
about not having any dirt is when it rains it is hard to play in the mud!
So we had more rain and still more is forecast to come. The grass we do
have a Trosper is getting green, that is nice. While we working to get a
new track we are looking at the surrounding area. There are places we will
not be working on and maybe areas which we will not touch. Since we have
many existing critters around we will leave some areas for them. Also we
will be moving some existing plants to 'out of danger' places. Back to the
critters. We do have deer which live in the area. In our plans we have set
aside places for them to eat and drink. Also there are a few native plants
which will be either moved or protected during our construction.

TOP OF PAGE 06-16-2008 REDLINE CUP FINAL CENTRAL
Is it deja vu or what? For 2008 the Redline Cup Final has been awarded to
another Missouri track
Saint Peters BMX
in St. Peters, MO. So with that
race awarded is seems all the BIG races of the year have been scheduled
with the exception of our State Championship Final. As most of you may
already know that race is awarded to the track which generates the most
money for ABA each year in each state with ABA tracks. Oh, did we say the
track which generates the most money for ABA what we meant was the track
which turns in the most new memberships and/or renewals from mid June
of last year to mid June of this year. So the 'race' for this RACE is about
to be won for 2008. We know one thing for sure about the 2008 Oklahoma
State Championship but we have been sworn to keep the secret for a few
more days anyway.

What a heck of a day of racing today at Sooner State BMX.
Before races started Blake Sams went down on the last straight and was
taken to the hospital by ambulance. He was injured but it appears his
injury was not real bad. He was poked in the lower right abdomen by the end
of his handle bar. Ralph and Blake were to return to town tonight from
what we heard. We hope his injury does not keep him off his bike long.
While that was happening the Sign-up computer crashed. A replacement was
brought in but all the info had to be keyed in again. It was a lot of work
since the only database they had was dated February and most sll the riders
had to be entered since most were new riders signed up since Sooner State
opened.
So there was a huge amount of first time riders racing today. I saw only 1
One day membership form but I think they had 12 new riders. They had
Cruisers and class races with many new Girls but they were Novice Girls
who raced Boys classes so there were not Girls only classes.
As we have been saying this new track is HOT STUFF and the people from
Ponca City are really getting behind the new track. It is nice to see so
much involvement from the local community.
So now the BIG QUESTION is where will the State Championship Final be held?
It may just be in Ponca City so if you haven't raced there yet it may be a
good idea to make a trip there to check out their track!

So about 1:55pm today it was announced some of us will be working Saturday
at our regular jobs. With that in mind and with rain falling at 11pm maybe
any work with the Bobcat is out of the question as far as Trosper goes.
We have a chance of rain for Saturday and Sunday as well so we may not get
any time on the Bobcat this weekend. If that happens we will be working to
get the last 1st mowing complete and also work on more trash clean up. It
will be nice to get everything mowed for the 1st time since most of the
property has not been mowed for 20 years or so. It is looking much better
and now will look much better every time we work on it!

We are starting to work on the Dixon mower today with the front end getting
all the attention today. We replaced both front tires with new tires and
tubes. Our old front tires had seen better days and one had a hole about an
1/8 inch across, for a tubeless tire that means no air pressure or a whole
lot of Slime and a slow leak. Neither one was a chioce of ours so we
replaced the tires. The back tires are in great shape and hold air fine. We
are replacing several belts as soon as they come in as well. We already
have a set of new blades and we will change the oil and air filters soon.

Early this morning we had a loud, windy and rainy walk up call from none

we did not. The wind and lightining was fast and loud but the rain was not
heavy in some areas but then we had a Flash Flood Warning. Just under 3/4

Mowing was on the plate today and we got a bunch of that done till the sun
decided to set for the day. After about 8 hours of mowing we had a huge
part of the entire property mowed. We still have some to mow and it will
take some time since the place hasn't been mowed in 20 years but once it
all been knocked down for the first time things will go fast. Already the
west side of the track area is looking very good with short green grass
filling in the bald spots. Almost hate to build the track with all that
nice green grass but a track will be built and we may skim some of the
grass to cover where we have been working with the Bobcat.

after the permits are all in order. Our plumber should be out next week as
well and we hope to hear back from OG&E some time too. From the talk we
have had so far our electric service will be all new and will be
upgradeable for our future needs, sweet!

TOP OF PAGE 05-23-2008 MAP WORK
The maps are coming right along and we hope to have them finished over the
long weekend so we can fill out our paperwork and get the ball rolling on
our permits. Things are starting to come together and if you were to drive
by the property you may see our work. We have a lot of work ahead but we
now have some outside help and maybe things will start picking up speed
in the future. We certainly hope so.

Sooner Pearl BMX Raceway would like to officially announce Oklahoma has a
racer who will participate in the 2008 UCI BMX World Championship race in
Taiyaun, China in one week. Since qualifying in DeSoto, Texas at the USA
Cycling National Championship March 29th Dennison and a small group have
been working to insure his participation in this Championship race. No one
has worked as hard as Dennison to prepare for this race. Currently listed 2
in ABA National Age Group (19-27), Dennison has had a great year already
and is poised to be a UCI BMX World Champion. We wish him the best of luck.
We know he will be a great representative for our state and Oklahoma BMX.
The year 2008 is shaping up to be a historic year for our sport. As you
should know BMX will debut as an Olympic sport in the 2008 Beijing Games.
Could we nurture Olympic caliber racers in Oklahoma? This state with a rich
heritage of past Olympic greats has the stuff, it has the facilities,
events and talent. Now with 4 tracks across the state, BMX in Oklahoma is
building again like a time unseen since the 1980's. With the ABA Grand
National in Tulsa, the Sooner National in Guthrie, Sand Springs BMX in Sand
Springs, Sooner State BMX in Ponca City, Yukon BMX in Yukon, and the soon
to be built all new Sooner Pearl BMX Raceway in Oklahoma City, BMX is here
to stay.

TOP OF PAGE 05-21-2008 MORE MAP WORK AMONG OTHER THINGS
The old topo map has been drawn and we are working to get out changes made
to match our planned layout for the property. One may not thing much about
rain water but here it is very important to an outdoor track. Without a
good reliable drainage plan the track could take days to dry after a small
rain. We want it to work well and will be spending a lot of time on this new map.
It looks like tomorrow we will have some very important news to announce.
We have been waiting till everything is in order and this should be complete
tomorrow. Are you ready for some of the most important BMX news of 2008?
So who said it was going to be easy?
TOP OF PAGE 05-20-2008 MAP WORK
Our first step is to get the old topographical map out and make a copy we
can work with on the computer. With our drainage plans in place we will
show all the dirt work which will be done before the track will be built.
Quite a bit of work to get the rain water away from the track, the parking
area and the future building location then we will work on the 'pad' where
the track will be built.
So who said it was going to be easy?
TOP OF PAGE (405) 235-3602 Track phone has info on Practice and Races.05-19-2008 DRAINAGE MAP WORK
We started to map out what is going to happen at the new location today.
As it looks we will be filing a SWPPP or Storm Water Pollution Prevention
Plan to get our excavation work started. We are not going into detail about
this but it will take several days of work to complete the plans and get
the required permit to start moving some dirt.

TOP OF PAGE (405) 235-3602 Track phone has info on Practice and Races.05-18-2008 MOWER WORK AGAIN
Today we spent some time working on the Dixon mower. We have not came up
with a nickname for it yet but the nickname will be up there with the other
mowers we have had out to help with our mowing job both at the old track
and now at the new location. Now known as 'KILLA' the old Troybilt walk
behind will be used for the small jobs and in tight areas. Since we don't
have access to the mower known as 'THE REAPER' our newest mower may follow
in its foot steps with a similar name since the Dixon has already shreaded
a bunch of the new property. Maybe you can come up with a name for the Dixon?
So who said it was going to be easy?
TOP OF PAGE 05-17-2008 MOWER REPAIR AND MAINTENANCE
After spending a couple hours out mowing yesterday we found out we needed
to do some maintenance to our mower. Loose belts and filter cleaning were
first on the list to be addressed. It looks like we will need to purchase
a few items as well to get the mower ready for a summer of use.
So who said it was going to be easy?
TOP OF PAGE 05-16-2008 WORK DAY
We did get out to do some work today and we made good use of our time. Now
that our days have warmed up and since we did get some rain this last week
the grass has started to grow and we were out putting our newly acquired
mower to work today. We have less property to mow at the new location but
as always it takes time to knock down the high spots since the property
has not been mowed for several years now.
So who said it was going to be easy?
TOP OF PAGE 05-15-2008 ANOTHER DAY
Things are starting to dry out from the rain weh ad earlier this week. Some
areas of the property are still quite wet but most of the property is dry
now. What little work we have done is already showing improvement to our
drainage system.

TOP OF PAGE (405) 235-3602 Track phone has info on Practice and Races.05-14-2008 WHO SHOOK THE TREE?
So we did not work on the track today but we did get some things worked on
for the track and we also aquired a mower to help get the grass under
control. In the last few years we have not had a lawn service which helped
us with the grounds work and mowing. Now that we have a Bobcat we will be
able to keep the grounds work up. Today we got one heck of a mower to help
keep up with out huge mowing job. Our mower will allow us to mow the entire
property in one day and maybe even less than a whole day. What a machine it
is and it is in very nice shape as well.
So who said it was going to be easy?
TOP OF PAGE 05-13-2008 ANOTHER 'NON WORK' DAY
Things are starting to wind up for us now with much work planning and many
meetings ahead this week. We are looking to have electric power to the
property in the next few weeks and hopefully water there as well. Now we
are wanting to start excavation on the property within the next few weeks.
So who said it was going to be easy?
TOP OF PAGE 05-12-2008 WHO SHOOK THE TREE?

As it has been in the last few weeks we have taken days off for other

out. Maybe tomorrow we will have a big announcement?

It was time to meet our excavation contractor out on the property to have a
look at the project. We will have things ready to move on this in the next
couple of weeks and their work should begin. We have many little tasks like
this ahead to build the new track and we want things right. If you would
like to become involved in our little project contact Richard Axtell at

TOP OF PAGE 05-08-2008 ANOTHER 'NON WORK' DAY
We did not work at the track today and there was no calls or other contacts
on the track today, we worked at home today. We are hoping to get some time
in the coming weekend if things dry out enough to get into the property.
Our drainage work will insure access and an area for parking soon. Once the
ditches and culverts are installed we will get some parking area to work on
so we can access the property even after rain, that will be nice for us and
the contractors we will have coming in for work in the near future.
So who said it was going to be easy?
TOP OF PAGE 05-07-2008 MORE RAIN TODAY
What a day we had wind and rain but things were not on the wild side with
no tornadoes around here anyway. Most of us took the day off and rested for
the coming work increase ahead. We are looking to contact an electrical
contractor next week to get things rolling on power for the property. We
will be meeting with our excavation contractor Friday afternoon and hope to
have an estimate in hand in 10 days to go forward with this work on the
ground dirt work. Work will begin soon after that and we will have the area
for the track clean and ready for track building to begin, now to get some
dirt...
So who said it was going to be easy?
TOP OF PAGE 05-06-2008 MEETINGS
Now that we have contacted an excavating contractor and plumbing contractor
the meetings with them are about to start. We hope to have some real
construction starting in the next few weeks with them. We are still looking
for more dirt and hope to have some on site soon. We will not have much in
the way of free dirt since the property has been cleared on any useable
dirt which means we will have to furnish all dirt we will be using for the
track and out new building.
So who said it was going to be easy?
TOP OF PAGE 05-05-2008 DRAINAGE?
Today did start the meetings with our excavating contractor. If all goes as
planned we will be meeting soon on site and things will start rolling as
soon as we can get in the schedule and Mother Nature lets us have a few
days to dry out so work can begin. Now we will be working closely to really
make some progress on the initial building steps.
We did get a heck of a rain today. It started about 2am and stopped about
8pm. The entire county is under a Flash Flood Warning so thats talks a lot
about how much rain we had today. Tornadoes? well if you listened to the
weather forecasters we had some of them around as well today so Mother
Nature was at work today!
So who said it was going to be easy?
TOP OF PAGE (405) 235-3602 Track phone has info on Practice and Races.05-04-2008 NO WORK TODAY
Now we did not work at the track today but we did have a meeting today with
a plumbing contractor to arrange the site inpection and get rolling on one
of our 3 required items 'water'. Remember back when we said we need 3 items
to get things in line to build the track, well one item is on the way. It
will be some time but now we will be working to get the other 2 items lined
out as well. Maybe our luck is about to change?
So who said it was going to be easy?
TOP OF PAGE 05-05-2008 NO WORK TODAY
So working with City employees is not a fun thing to do no matter what
others say. Things move REAL slow when it comes to getting anything done
unless it involves getting tickets or giving money to the City. We are
waiting to hear back about our drainage plans and it is now moving very
fast since we started over a month ago and still have no answers.
So who said it was going to be easy?
TOP OF PAGE (405) 235-3602 Track phone has info on Practice and Races.05-04-2008 WORK DAY
Another day of paying in the dirt today with more leveling and looking at
where and how things will be situated around the track. We hope to have
more help coming with many things in the near future but time will tell. We
are now working with the City Streets Department to get help with our
drainage plan. We will be talking to an excavating contractor this week to
get the meetings started and that work should be going soon. That is one
item we will be farming out and will be done by professionals. We may also
have them do our heavy equipment work as well.
So who said we were doing all the work?
TOP OF PAGE 05-03-2008 WORK DAY
Things are beginning to change now and there will be much more work ahead.
We are now working to get some areas leveled out and some landscaping work
roughed in around where the track and building will be located. A small
pile of dirt is now taking shape and we hope to have more there soon. Now
the work is starting to show and people driving by are starting to notice
the construction.
So who said it was going to be easy?
TOP OF PAGE 05-02-2008 NO WORK DAY
Things are now back to normal for the day and the weather has calmed down
so we can work but not today. Things are a little to wet to be out using
heavy equipment today so we cancelled the WORK DAY yesterday and today.
We should not have any problems getting out tomorrow and we will be there
playing in the dirt all day.
So who said it was going to be easy?
TOP OF PAGE 05-01-2008 HEAVY STORMS
What an evening we had today with the afternoon looking good and then the
rules changed and the weather demanded some attention. A huge black cloud
came bearing down over the eastern half of Oklahoma City and it was not a
nice cloud at all. First came some light rain then some pea sized hail then
about 5 minutes of hail about tennis ball sized. Many car windows and
windshields were knocked out and anything out in the open did get hail
dents from this storm. Thankfully it did not drop any tornadoes here in the
city area but that was not the case to the northeast of Oklahoma City.

TOP OF PAGE (405) 235-3602 Track phone has info on Practice and Races.04-30-2008 LINGERING WEB PROBLEM
After several hours on the phone to get the web site back up it still seems
to get everything working took about 24 hours to correct. Our email and
a few other items were still not working until afternoon today. So again we
have to say the internet is great but then it is not working it can be a
real pain and it can take a long time to get everything working again.
Quick fixes are not always available for major problems. It seems today
everything is working properly and we can move on to other work.

TOP OF PAGE 04-28-2008 NO WORK TODAY
Well we took off today and did other work. Many things seem to happen
outside the track work and today we worked on other things. Spending the
weekend days working on the property and most evenings during the week
making calls and purchasing material leaves many other things undone. We
got to some of that stuff today.
So who said it was going to be easy?
TOP OF PAGE 04-27-2008 WORK DAY
Today we raked the front top of our work area and things look pretty good
out front. We have a little more work on the side before we rake it. We
did get a little other work in today and some rough landscaping to boot.
Some of our background work is starting to begin now so maybe we will see
some progrress in the next couple months on the track.
So who said it was going to be easy?
TOP OF PAGE 04-26-2008 WORK DAY PROGRESS
Today we got the front of the property roughed in now the raking begins to
finish it our and we will lay sod later. The front of the property is
looking much different now. Later in the day we started to work on the
east of the main parking area to landscape and smooth things out to make it
easier to mow. We may even plant some flowers in this area later.
little dirt before we start digging our ditches, we should be installing
our culverts in the next week or so after they are purchased.

TOP OF PAGE 04-25-2008 BOBCAT WORK
Today we picked up the Bobcat and off to Trosper Park it was for some more
work on landscaping. We want to have the front work roughed in and ready
for our posts and cable. It looks like we may have everything in line to
get this stuff installed in the next couple of weeks. A little change here
and there and we may heading for some real work. We are also in line to get
our culverts in the next couple of weeks as well.

TOP OF PAGE (405) 235-3602 Track phone has info on Practice and Races.04-24-2008 WORK WEEKEND AHEAD
Our weekend forecast has a chance of rain for Saturday evening but that
is not going to stop us from working Saturday. We will be out working about
10am and work till about dark unless we really do get some rain. We plan
to work on Sunday as well if there is no rain or little rain. We will
complete the work on the front of the property and then work to move a
little dirt before we start digging our ditches, we should be installing
our culverts in the next week or so after they are purchased.

TOP OF PAGE 04-23-2008 NO REAL RAIN
Well the clouds came and have now gone. We did get some rain but not enough
to stop us from working at Trosper this coming weekend barring more rain
that is. We did get some rain and rumblings of thunder with lightning but
most of this stuff missed the City and what we did get was gone in a few
minutes. The storms formed south and west of the City but moved so fast
it was almost a non event. We did get some on and off drizzle and a few
very light showers later in the night but still not anything to write home
about.
So who said it was going to be easy?
TOP OF PAGE 04-22-2008 RAIN IN THE FORECAST
With all the water in the ground today we had some to add when it rained.
Not only that but we have rain in the forecast for the next few days, maybe
we won't get in any work this weekend. Things are looking up on the
drainage when we scheduled a meeting with the City Streets Department today.
The ditches will be made and culverts will be installed. More landscaping
is on tap and some clearing of brush. Would a firepit be nice on those
cool race days and evenings?
So who said it was going to be easy?
TOP OF PAGE 04-21-2008 IN SEARCH OF WATER
Even though it has been dry for the last few days there is till a lot of
ground water in the area. Today we dug a hole about 4 feet deep on the
north side of the property and we had mud and water before to long. The
area we were digging in is some of the lowest elevation of the property and
it looks like we have a lot of water in the soil now. This area may be wet
most of the time even when we have not had rain.
So who said it was going to be easy?
TOP OF PAGE 04-20-2008 WORK DAY
Now we did get a bunch of work done today on the front of the property.
Since not to may people have been out to look at the property most will not
know this work was done since it will be covered with grass soon and will
blend in with the surrounding land before the Summer is over. But it is
starting to look good and now we have some dirt to work with as well. If
the weather stays dry for a while we will be getting this done and get on
with our drainage work. Once that is complete we will be installing our
post and cable barriers.
So who said it was going to be easy?
TOP OF PAGE (405) 235-3602 Track phone has info on Practice and Races.04-19-2008 WORK DAY
What a day it was to be out working at Trosper. It was quite warm and we
had very little wind to cool things off so it got hot in the afternoon. We
started working on the front of the land moving dirt to fill in areas where
we had no elevation to put the posts and cable barrier. We also started to
clean up some little piles of dirt that are placed randomly in the location
where we will be building the track.
So who said it was going to be easy?
TOP OF PAGE 04-18-2008 DAY OFF
Today we took the day off from working on the track and got a little rest
for the weekend work ahead. Things are starting to move now and we will be
working all weekend to get some dirt moved and get ready for installation
of our post and cable barriers. Since we did not get any rain the land will
be nice and dry to get our dirt work started.
So who said it was going to be easy?
TOP OF PAGE 04-17-2008 RAIN HERE BUT NOT THERE
It was cooler today and we had clouds most of the days moving across fast
since the wind was blowning about 30mph. During the evening thunderstorms
started building over the City. Most of the storms started east of I-35 and
Trosper didn't get any rain but one mile east got a heck of a rain shower.
Looks like we will be out working this Saturday.

TOP OF PAGE 04-16-2008 WHERES THE BEEF?
Many years ago this was a slogan used by Wendy's in their commercials. So
we use it today to ask what is happening about the new track at Trosper.
The time is upon us to get of the high spot and get something going. We now
have the means to haul heavy items to the track and now we have some tools
to start. All plans are to get going as soon as we clear a few things with
the City to get started.
So who said it was going to be easy?
TOP OF PAGE 04-15-2008 TAX DAY
Once again it is the time of year most of us have to filled out all the
paperwork to file taxes and made sure they were in the mail before midnight
today. If the weather is good some of us will be out working at Trosper
this weekend, we will have to wait and see since we have rain in the
forecast for tomorrow.

TOP OF PAGE (405) 235-3602 Track phone has info on Practice and Races.04-14-2008 WATER, WATER
If you remember we have said that water is an important item to have before
we get the track built. Well it may be we found water today, we will find
out more this week but at least we did find water. Also several companies
called and was at Trosper today to locate all the underground lines and
other buried items around the vicinity today. Looks like we have more items
around than we had thought. Our assets are starting to increase as the days
go by now.

Today we made the trip to Ponca City for a Track Operators meeting and to
watch and help at the races. The meeting was an interesting thing and we
had some good discussions while there, more on this soon. All together the
day was a lot of fun with a good showing of riders, 47 riders if memory
servers correct. The weather was cool with a good north wind which made it
even cooler and most were looking for a place to get out of the wind.
So who said it was going to be easy?
TOP OF PAGE 04-12-2008 RAIN, HAIL
Things looked good most of the day then we had some thunderstorms with rain
and pea sized hail with it to boot. We were out working on the Bobcat when
the rain started so we cut the work short to get out of the rain. We really
did not want to get the Bobcat stuck and make a mess. We got a little bit
of work done near the entrance.
So who said it was going to be easy?
TOP OF PAGE 04-11-2008 10 DAYS
Today we found out it will be at least 10 days before we are able to start
construction of major drainage on the property. We have the culvert pipe
lined up but will have to wait for City approval before we are able to
install. We are working to start getting some dirt to the location. We will
be looking on the water and electric situation next week.
So who said it was going to be easy?
TOP OF PAGE 04-10-2008 NO WORK TODAY
So the rain stayed around till after sun up but stopped some. The sky did
not clear till late in the day and things started to dry out since we had a
30+mph wind most of the day. Due to the wet conditions we were not able to
work at Trosper today. Other minor details had to be reckoned with so we
did not work for the track today.
So who said it was going to be easy?
TOP OF PAGE (405) 235-3602 Track phone has info on Practice and Races.04-09-2008 MUCH MORE RAIN
Again today it started to rain this morning about 11am. We got some real
heavy rain in the early afternoon. It started to slow down and did stop for
a couple hours late in the evening about sundown then started raining again
about 9pm. From the looks of the weather radar we may get rain most of the
night and maybe till about sun up tomorrow morning. The weekend outlook is
not so good now but we will have to see what happens.

TOP OF PAGE 04-08-2008 RAIN
At 5am this morning it started to rain. Thunderstorms moved through town
early this morning and their were noisy enough to wake us up at 5am. It
didn't rain long but things are wet today and it looks like we have more on
the way tomorrow as well. We put the Bobcat back on the trailer and was not
able to work at the track today.
So who said it was going to be easy?
TOP OF PAGE 04-07-2008 WHAT IS NEXT?
So we only thought we had the trailer finished for the Bobcat. It seems
there was a minor wiring problem which turned into a headache to figure
out. Now it is fixed and things are going to not cause blown fuses in the
tow truck. It only took about 10 hours of troubleshooting and reworking of
some wiring. We got some bad info on the wiring and that was the root cause
of our problem.
Sunday was a WORK DAY and we got a little work done. We also got some free
dirt to use for fill as well so the day was good. Murrays ditch got a major
rework but we did not finish yesterday and was not able to go today due to
the trailer wiring problem. We may be out to finish Tuesday afternoon.
Anyway the Bobcat is sweet and it is going to come in handy.
So who said it was going to be easy?

Today we will call a WORK DAY at Trosper Park. We will not
be working on a track but will be working on preliminary work. Like any
other construction project the job progess' in steps and one of the
beginning steps is drainage then clearing and leveling the project area.
We hope to have dirt soon and this will come in steps as well. Fill dirt
to level then dirt for the track.

We did some clean-up today at the east end of the property. We have a strip
of cleared land about 50 feet wide between us and our neighbor. Today we
mowed and gathered the brush and broken limbs from the Ice Storm. Things
look a lot better now and Murray was very impressed with our work. Tomorrow
we will be working on ditches and drainage. Funny how it just works out
since Murry has been after the City to do some work on the front of his
property but it seems he has been forgotten. That has now changed since we
want to be good neighbors.

It looks much better than before and everything seems to work but time will

weekend to move the Bobcat to the track for a little play in the dirt time.
Looks like we may have a few things to bring to the City Parks Department
soon and the feathers may fly but thats the way it goes. So unless we have
problems we will be out working this weekend. Saturday will be a clean-up
day and Sunday we will play with some dirt.

Today we had a chance to meet an interesting individual. While traveling
by Trosper Park we happened to run into our neighbor to the east. Mr.
Murray Allison is his name and we had a fine time walking and talking.
Murray had a lot to say about the new neighborhood and some interesting
tidbits of information. We told him we planned to be good neighbors and
we will be working to help clear some tree limbs from our Ice Storm. We
will be mowing an area near this property and helping to clear up some
drainage problems he needs some help with. A very nice man.

TOP OF PAGE 04-02-2008 LITTLE TRAILER WORK, RAIN TODAY
The work got started late today thanks to Mother Nature. Not a lot of rain
but enough to keep us wet if we worked very long. The lights are complete
and have been checked, the trailer brakes have not been tied together but
only 3 connections are needed to complete that item. So the trailer is
about ready for the road and we have been wanting to find a job for it
to exercise our trailer.

TOP OF PAGE 04-01-2008 TRAILER WORK NEAR COMPLETION
We had some trouble today but the work continued on our trailer. A new
wiring harness was built and installed, not all the lights got hooked up.
One of the brake units had some problems which meant we had to buy more
parts today. We did get one side of the trailer inspected and our bad hub
was replaced with new bearings and seals. The brake assembly was moved from
the front axle to the back axle and most of the lights were wired up. Now
on to the right side axle, hub and brake inspection to complete the job.

Today we took it easy and did a little work on the trailer. We got a late
start due to some other work which needed to be done in a hurry. After the
hurry up rush work was completed the trailer did get some attention. We
finished welding the deck up. The back end was rewelded and our marker rear
marker light bracket was welded on then had to be removed due to light
mounting problems, those problems were fixed and we checked the wiring of
the light plug on the truck and the wiring harness for the trailer was next
on the list. Things are starting to look much better now.

Today we got several things fixed on the trailer. The broken angle at the
back of the trailer was straightened and rewelded. Some material was
removed from the back of the trailer. New trailer light brackets were
installed. Some of the deck was removed and rewelded. There is still more
material to be removed, a side marker light bracket to be welded on and the
new lights installed. All new wiring will be installed. The electric brakes
will also be inspected and rewired. Safety chains will be installed and new
ramps will be built, the trailer will then be complete.

TOP OF PAGE 03-29-2008 THEFT AT THE OLD SOONER PEARL
So after the work we saw yesterday on the gate at Sooner Pearl guess what?
Today the gate was gone. Either late yesterday or before noon today the
person or persons who sawed the hinges of the gate came back and took it
today. Just remember you did
not steal from us you stole from the State Government. Whoever steals items
from the old Sooner Pearl after December 15, 2007 are thieves and should
not be trusted. Maybe other tracks should watch out!
So who said it was going to be easy?
TOP OF PAGE 03-28-2008 WHAT WOULD YOU DO?
If you walked to the door of your favorite store and noticed the door was
unlocked but you knew the store was closed would you walk in and take what
you wanted?
Today a few of us went to the old Sooner Pearl and to our
suprise it seems someone is working to steal the gate. The old track
belongs to the Government and has since December 15, 2007. Stealing from
this property is a CRIME. Want a PRISON vacation? Maybe be on TV, make the
headlines of the local paper, get some pretty chrome bracelets?
Who would want to steal an 8 man BMX gate?
What is next?
Stealing is a CRIME.

TOP OF PAGE 03-27-2008 WEATHER IN THE TANK
The day started out nice but today was like many here in Oklahoma nice in
the morning but trashed by nightfall. We had a Cold Front move in today and
the temps dropped fast and we got a brisk north wind to boot. Nothing like
a little reminder that the weather changes at the drop of a hat here. So
once again we have a chance of rain over the weekend but many will be in
DeSoto Texas racing in the Super National this weekend. Good Luck to those
making the trip!

TOP OF PAGE 03-26-2008 VERY NICE WEATHER
Today the weather was even better than yesterday and yesterday was a great
day. It looks like our work on the BOBCAT tires yesterday seems to have
done the trick, at least the tire was not flat today! Well things are
looking up for material for the new track and we will be getting more to
the property soon. Oh as soon as the trailer is prepared to haul something
other than the BOBCAT anyway. We have had a few donations and there are
some more waiting to be picked up now. SInce it looks like our posts and
cable will not be here for a while we may be out working on the driveway
and drainage next week if Mother Nature allows.
So who said it was going to be easy?
TOP OF PAGE 03-25-2008 WHAT A DAY OF WORK
Starting out with a flat tire can make for some work for a day. We fought
for several hours to reseat the bead on one of the new tires on our newly
acquired BOBCAT yesterday but in the end the tire was fixed. Then we used
the little beast for the first time to moved some equipment around for
BASCO. If you are not aware of who BASCO is they are becoming a name who
you may hear a small rumble about in the BMX arena and elsewhere. They have
been working in the print business for years and are becoming a local OKC
business with ties to BMX. Making screen printed shirts for BMX related
business' and tracks is getting to be a part of their work. They also make
banners, wraps and many other items. Some of the owners even race BMX!

TOP OF PAGE (405) 235-3602 Track phone has info on Practice and Races.03-24-2008 GREAT WEATHER
Mother Nature has once again shown her good side and given us some real
nice weather this week. A little on the windy side but nice none the less
with upper 60s or lower 70s most of the week. Now if we can get the
weekends to be this nice. Our neighbors to the north and northeast has
some major rain events in the last week which has put a damper on races
and generated more work on their tracks from water erosion.
So who said it was going to be easy?
TOP OF PAGE 03-23-2008 FIRST MAJOR PURCHASE
As things start to wind up on the construction of the new track we have
made our first major purchase. Today we bought a used BOBCAT 753 for use to
work on the property and track. The trailer we got in the deal is not the
best and will need some work. We will be working to get the trailer in good
working order this week. Soon we will be out making major changes to the
property and getting our first tasks complete. We will be on the look out
for another trailer if the price is right. If you know someone with a heavy
duty trailer let us know.

TOP OF PAGE 03-22-2008 MOWING TODAY
Today we went out and mowed at Trosper Park. We got the west side from the
entrance west near 400 feet mowed back 15 feet from the sidewalk/trail. We
did not get the mess cleaned up but it is mowed. Next we will be working on
east of the entrance and get it mowed back 15 feet as well. Maybe tomorrow
we may be out working if we don't have a busy day visiting with family. We
have much work to be done just to get things cleaned up on the property.
The Ice Storm last December caused a huge amount of damage to the trees,
our estimates are there is 1000 hours of work just to clean up that mess.
That will be in addition to building a track on property which is no
developed, no water, sewer, electric etc.
So who said it was going to be easy?
TOP OF PAGE 03-21-2008 NEW HITCH AND ELECTRIC BRAKE CONTROL
That says it all we now have a new Class 4 receiver type hitch and a new
electronic trailer brake controller now installed on our tow vehicle. Next
we will get the trailer. We will have to do some minor work on it but we
will be able to use it even without the work completed. Now we will have to
get something to haul on the trailer. It looks like we will have a few
items next week to try this trailer out. Now if we could get those posts
and cable delivered. Then we could get some real work going then.
So who said it was going to be easy?
TOP OF PAGE 03-20-2008 TOW VEHICLE REPAIRED
Today our tow vehicle was repaired and now has a new clutch, pressure plate,
throw-out bearing and release cylinder. Our hope is to have a receiver
hitch, trailer light hook-up and electric brake set-up installed Friday.
Once these are completed we will be ready to pick-up the trailer. We will
then be ready to start work at Trosper. We will be working on drainage for
the entrance and for the parking area. We are still waiting for our posts
and cable to be delivered to the site. Once the posts are delivered we will
need a full day to bore the post holes due to the bedrock at this location,
the holes may not be bored on the same day as the delivery of this material.
Until we get the holes bored we will work on drainage and clean up of
illegally dumped trash which has been there since before we got the lease.
The Parks Department will furnish a dumpster for removal of this trash.
TOP OF PAGE 03-18-2008 MORE RAIN TODAY
After starting late yesterday the rain has just kept coming today. We had
a mix of light to heavy rain most of the day with the rain stopping about
7pm. About 1.75 inches of rain fell at the National Weather Service in the
last 24 hours. We have a slight chance for more rain but it looks like the
front has moved to the southeast of Oklahoma City so that may not happen.
Our weekend forecast has a chance of rain as well on Saturday and Sunday.
As always this will change before the weekend gets here.
So who said it was going to be easy?
TOP OF PAGE 03-17-2008 TOW VEHICLE
After making some repairs on our tow vehicle it has become apparent that we
may be in for more repairs. Our hope is to get the vehicle back from the
shop late this week and we will need to have a trailer hitch installed.
We plan to have this done this week so we can start working with our
trailer maybe this weekend. Once we have the hitch we will be able to move
equipment and dirt to the new track location.
TOP OF PAGE 03-16-2008 WHAT IS AHEAD?
Now that things are starting to wind up in Ponca City and the weather has
allowed Sand Springs and Yukon to race maybe this year isn't so bad after
all. So there was some racin' goin on the weekend. It looks like we are
going to have a time with our tow vehicle now we may have to purchase
another vehicle. This week will tell us what is going to happen on this. We
will be out working later this week and will post info in the next few days.
So who said it was going to be easy?
TOP OF PAGE 03-15-2008 ALL KINDS OF RACING
We did not hear if Sand Springs got off a race last night but it looks like
Yukon and Ponca City got lucky and the rain missed both tracks. So
Saturday and Sunday will be good for racing. If you haven't made it to
Ponca City maybe you can get in on their second race. Just think they have
nowhere to go but up now.

in Oklahoma City. Chance for rain Thursday, Thursday night, Friday, Friday

Friday, Friday night in Sand Springs. What a weather forecast! Some day
very soon this will change to drier weather.

TOP OF PAGE 03-13-2008 WHAT HAPPENED TO THIS DAY?
This post was written once and lost in cyberspace.
So the work on our tow truck has started and we hope it will be a quick job
but things happen and we will roll on. The weather was nice again today
till in the evening and we got a few clouds. Nice weather for this time of
the year. We are hoping for good weather this weekend.
So who said it was going to be easy?
TOP OF PAGE 03-12-2008 WHAT IS GOING ON?
The prep work is going on now. Once again Mother Nature will have her final
say on when we will be working. We are looking for some good weather in the
future. We are working to start securing the property. Securing
the property is our first on the list for construction.
TOP OF PAGE 03-11-2008 WEATHER TURN AROUND
As the days go by this week we have had progressively better and better
weather but things look like they may change soon. Earlier in the week our
wethaer forecast had rain on Thursday and Friday, now this has changed to
Friday and Saturday. Our temps have increased this week but are to go down
again and may kinda level off around 60° on Saturday. Our freezing nights
are gone for the next few days which means it is about time for the grass
to start getting in gear for the year.
TOP OF PAGE 03-10-2008 IT HAS BEGUN
Sunday was a great day for BMX in Oklahoma. With 54 riders and 15 motos
there was a good turn-out for Sooner State BMX's opening race day. The
weather could not have been any better about 60° and almost no wind. Now
that Sooner State BMX is up and running and with about 30 new members
already signed up they are going to be a BIG FACTOR in the work to build
rider count in Oklahoma. THANK YOU Ponca City! It was fun! Thank you also
to the many out of STATE riders who came to enjoy their new track.
