Sooner Pearl old sign
BMX track at Trosper Park, Oklahoma City
When did it start and end?
Who built this BMX track and who helped?
Who was the second Track Operator, the third, all the way to the last?
What were the circumstances that caused it to close?

One big question is what was the name of this BMX track?
Trosper BMX?
Metro BMX?
How many names did this track have over the years?

As of today it looks like Bob Decker was somehow involved as indicated in the article which appears in the Steve Clymer newspaper article ( link).

Some searching around the web turned up some interesting links the other day. A very well known web site vintagebmx.com has many messages which hold a huge amount of history on BMX. One of those pages has a little information regarding old school racing back in the 1980s with pictures of races at Shawnee and Trosper BMX ( link). From the looks of it the 2 pictures are courtesy 'leapin' who is none other than Charlie Long.

Speaking of Charlie Long he also has a few pictures he was kind enough to post on PhotoBucket.com. So without further delay here are links to his pictures. These are different from the above on Vintage BMX and we get to see some racing action from Moore BMX as well as Trosper ( link). Thanks to 'leapin1' (Charlie Long) for these pictures!
