GRAND NATIONAL
What a long day it was with things wraping up after 8pm. Awards and more awards was on tap for those who made it to the top in all age classes and skill levels. Again it was a lot of racing with its share of crashes. If you didn't make it here you missed one heck of a weekend of racing. We are sure the servers at Go211.com were working hard to stream live video of all the racing action and there was a lot to see. Check the Go211.com sire in a few days they will have the videos to watch if you missed the live feed.

GRAND NATIONAL
A long day of racing was ahead of all of us with 490 motos printed and hanging on the wall for inspection. While the races were happening outside the meeting rooms around the building there was a Track Operators meeting in one of those meeting rooms. ABA has a meeting each year during GRANDS to go over the year ahead and talk about what has happened during 2008. It is a good place to meet and talk to other Track Operators and ABA officials who come to Tulsa. There will be the usual rule changes ahead for 2009 and there was much talk about the UCI and USA Cycling National events scheduled for 2009.

IT HAS STARTED
Our day (if you BMX) begins early today with practice on a single use track built special for the 2008 GRAND NATIONAL. With practice starting about sun up and ending after sun down it can be a long day. Not only practice today but many places to visit and look for that special bargin part you have looked for or need at the least minute. To find an old friend who has come in from far away to race. Let us not forget what the true meaning of this Holiday. Let us be thankful for the many things we have, our friends and family, our sport and the many other things we sometime overlook in day to day life.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING from us at Oklahoma BMX Parents Association and okbmx.com.
GOOD LUCK to all you riders who come to Oklahoma to compete and please have a safe, fun holiday and THANK YOU for coming!

THANKSGIVING
The day we have been waiting for is upon us. Tomorrow is our only chance to practice on the track which many will ride over the next few days. We all come for the competition and to see old friends and maybe make a few new friends. While we are busy working let us not forget to remember this Holiday. Remember why it is called Thanksgiving. Call those friends and family we have miles away and let them know we care. Be thankful for the things we have for many do not and maybe lend a hand to someone who is less fortunate they we are. HAPPY THANKSGIVING from us at Oklahoma BMX Parents Association and okbmx.com.

SURVEY WORK
With work to build a track creeping ever coser it was time to make a survey to finalize our plans. The weather was not bad and we had time to establish what would be done here and there. A route for the new electric service was laid out and how that project will impact security, the land and drainage were some things considered. Now where is all the dirt for the track?

WHAT, WHEN, WHERE?
As we have mentioned in the past there have been a few people voicing their feelings about the name of the new track at Trosper Park. An interesting fact to throw in the discussion is the 'names' used by the track at Trosper. Our information is that track started with a name of OKC BMX and was later changed to Trosper Park BMX. With that in mind why are some questioning another name change to Sooner Pearl? Who knows what will happen with this tidbit of talk in the future?

PLAN WORK, GRANDS TRACK
It looks like we may have some help with getting our plans ready for our application for a Building Permit at Trosper Park. Time is getting near for work to start on several jobs and we are getting things ready. If we have a little good grace from Mother Nature things will start to look a little different in the next few weeks. We certainly hope things start soon!
So now pictures of the GRANDS track for 2008 are getting out. With only 8 days left till the start of events we have a first look at what the track is shaping up to look like. A few short years ago no one knew what to expect till the day before Practice Day. Now it seems like a race to see who gets pictures on line first. We like that there are people who want to get the pictures out for all.

BETTER
The weather was a little warmed today but it looks like we will have a very cold end of the week after all. A front will move by tomorrow and cool us off but we have no chance for rain which is good for the local tracks. Many are ready or getting ready for GRANDS which is a week away. Many tracks are having a hard time having events to prep riders since Mother Nature is again wreaking havoc and causing many event cancellations.

Well it was not bad but not that good today. Somewhat warm but better tomorrow is what we hear from the forecasters. For November it could be much worse! After tomorrow it may turn colder for a few days, we hope next weekend is better so we can get more work started. Wednesday we are to turn colder for a few days. Now that we are off Daylight Savings Time it is getting dark at about 6pm which leaves little time ot work at Trosper in eveningsso the weekends are all we have for now.

So the work is on going to get electric service to Trosper Park for the new track. As it stands we may have electric service in the next couple months. The old electric service is not up to the demand we have planned so an entirely new service will be installed. Co-ordinating the work has required several entities such as OKC Parks, OG&E, surveyors, right of way, oil pipeline owners, electrical contractors and of course ourselves. The well site cleanup is still not scheduled and we are not sure when this will be completed.

WILD TIMES
In Oklahoma we get used to mixed up things, our weather is a good example. The end of 2008 is proving to be a wild time for many. As we said back a few weeks ago there would be many changes in store for the end of the year. New track, new Co-Track Operators, a new web site, new Yahoo Groups and the list is growing. Who knows what is next?
And speaking of the weather we had a real strange day today. With only a 30 percent chance of rain we had heavy thunderstorms, near 100mph winds, clusters of hail storms heavy enough to nearly cover the ground and a lot of lightning. It could have been a Spring Day, 80° weather and a strong front combined to make a bumpy ride for many today.

A DAY TO REMEMBER
It started out as many do in the sport of BMX, some on time, some staying on time and others making it just in time. That is a start for a story that many will be talking about for a lifetime. It was a lucky unlucky day and trip to the Redline Cup which will be the topic. An accident with a handful of trashed bicycles but the people were fine, the most important part. How some found out the true meaning of helping when someone from the BMX 'family' is needing a little help. A day when BMX was a small thing in the grand scheme but an integral part. Needless to say we are extremely glad and thankful no one was hurt. Now let the stories begin...........

RAIN, RAIN, RAIN
Once again the weather forecasters got it right and we got some much needed but not wanted rain. If you ran a BMX track you would understand that statement. Track Operators do not like rain on a event day or a day before an event. Most TO's have a lot of work and rain just makes more work but we need rain to keep the grass and weeds growing and it helps keep the track damp and does help it that way. It looks like we will have more rain tomorrow as well.

We also worked around the starting area to get things leveled out, man was there a bunch of tires buried in that dirt.

BIG CHANGES AHEAD
After all it is the end of the year and in saying that we look to see what could be in store for the end of 2008 a banner year for BMX in Oklahoma. To finish this year there will be a new Track Operator at Yukon BMX after Bob and Kelle Freels step down from running the track they started in Yukon.
The momentum in Ponca City is starting to build and their City is stepping up to help in big ways. There will be many changes ahead at their track both in the short term and long term.
Sand Springs BMX is looking to build their track in a new way. New people can have a major effect on improving the overall look and feel of any track.
Oklahoma City could see the emergence of an old institution in an even older location with Sooner Pearl BMX at Trosper Park. Once again ABA BMX will fill this park with the excitement of BMX racing. There are plans to also have a couple of other added items along the way.

MORE POWER TALKS
In order to get enough power to Trosper to support our new track will be more than a little job. With an easement from the City Parks Department and also their OK to trim some trees along with a survey of the area will get the work started and we have been told all work should be complete around 60 days from now. Now we are working to push the wellsite clean-up to finish before the end of the year.

OLD SOONER PEARL
In the end it will be gone but not forgotten but only leveled and blended into the surroundings as we have been told. The work to clear the old track qill be a long time from now towards the end of construction of the new I-40 and not in the near future. A long talk with the Superintendent of the 3rd phase of the highway project told us when we visited him in his office now located where the starting hill once was at the old track.

RAIN
It was bound to happen and today it started, we got rain. Well actually it started in some areas last night but it is rain. Something we really needed but if you run a BMX track most don't want. The rain just means more work one way of the other. Work on the track, work on the driveway, work on drainage and so on. So we did not get much rain and as said we did need it so it was nice, now are we to get more rain? Our forecast has more for tomorrow.

ELECTRICITY IN THE AIR
In the effort to get the track building started one thing we are doing is working to get electric power to the property since there is no power there now. Well we found out today OG&E is ready to get started on that and we are not going to have to pay for the new entrance lines which is a small relief in the overall scheme of things. We did not have to have electricity to build the track but that was one thing which had to be addressed to start racing and now ids the time to get it out of the way.

WORK DAY
On this day we did get some work done but mostly just mowing and cleaning up around the property. We mowed most of the property, some areas had not been mowed for about a month. However since we have not had any rain there was not much reason the mow. Once again the front is back up to looking very nice and groomed with the trash and debris picked up and a fresh mow. Most of the area where the track is going was mowed as well so things are back to looking fine again. So who said it was going to be easy?

You know technology and power equipment are nice but more of each means more things to break and more things to fix. Today we spent most of the day fixing things so nothing got done at Trosper Park. We did however get all the broken things fixed for another day, or so we could go break them again we still haven't figured out which is correct yet?

NO WORK DAY
It was another day which started off one way but ended very much different. Time to enjoy the last Friday off day this year. Now an 'off day' sounds like a day doing no work but that was not the case today. The work got done which just meant more work to be done, some days are like that. A little work snowballs into much more work. So the story continues. So who said it was going to be easy?

IS IT AN END OR BEGINNING?
One day some have hoped for and some had never thought would happen has begun. The Official Demolition of the old Sooner Pearl track has started and with a small amount of physical labor a couple trees, and eight mile of fence, a staging area, starting hill with tower, a roller and fairly big step-up double are now seperate piles of debris. It looks like by the end of next week there will be no signs of a once historic ABA BMX track in Downtown Oklahoma City. Under a October sky the end is near for an old place where many had good times.
The history of BMX in Oklahoma changes again.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY
Some may think it is out of this world. Today marks the 50th anniversary or birthday if you will of NASA. Some may think 'big deal' and go on but those people depend on things which have been developed for NASA. Here in Oklahoma we depend on weather radar. Radar and satellite imagery sets on our 'Desktop'. The next time you ride your bike which may have either carbon fiber or titanium you can thank NASA for developing those and many othere we use each day. Thank you and Happy Birthday.

YEAR AHEAD
It won't be long now and we will see the end of the 2008 Race Season and of the Mother of all Races, the Grand National. Like many before this year will be over soon. This year has proven to be a unusually good year for BMX in Oklahoma. In a context of the sport that is because the weather has been unusually bad this year. That being said it has been good all things considered. A new track (Sooner State BMX) was opened, both the operating tracks (Sand Springs BMX and Yukon BMX) had rebuilds of their track. Overall rider count is going up in the state. That is good.
What does the end of 2008 have in store for us? We bet it will be good.

Awe to lay back and do nothing. No radio, television, internet, cell phone, alarm clock. Peace and quiet for a moment is that nice? Speaking of eBay, that place is so nice. You buy something at home on the computer, pay for it on the computer and it arrives a few days later. Never spend a dime for GAS and get some awesome deals on cool stuff. Now there is a whole lot of good things needed for a BMX track found on eBay. OK so we did work today but not at Trosper Park. Since the Dixon was again broken we ordered new parts today to get it back in shape. Maybe next week on the parts, they had to be ordered. We also purchased a few items today to get our portable PA system ready, it is not much but it works and it was cheap. We now have a newer IBM Thinkpad laptop which is on loan, it is nice. We will work to get programs loaded on it in the next weeks. We got a real deal on that as well, a docking port, bag, mouse and warranty to boot.

PLAN WORK
As you should know with every great project is a great set of plans. Now we are talking about a set of plans showing what is where and how things will be arranged when it is all said and done. The plans the City looks at when permits are issued and construction begins. Well how most everything will be arranged that is, as we all know a BMX track looks like one thing on paper but will look much different when it is completed. There is still much work ahead and plans are a key part of this work.

Everyone took a well deserved day of from any work today. We will be starting to get work winding up soon. We still have not been able to find out when the oil well site work will begin. This job will require several days of work to remove the concrete debris and clean up the drilling mud around the mud pit. We should be hearing a little info on this soon as well. Since the amount of work involved our cleanup job had to be rebid and this will put off the start date for a couple of months.

NO RAIN FOR A WEEK
We have went a whole week without rain and that has been a nice thing. This year has been a wash with rain and it is looking like we have had a year like we had in 2005 when it seemed to rain every week most all year. All the rain has been good for the grass but has slowed everything else to a crawl as far as work on Trosper has been concerned. One hope we have is to start our new facility without rain problems. A lot of work with be required before we can have this item under control but things are looking good now. Ditches and a nice parking area will be something we start with when we get started actually building the track.

A CRYPTIC MESSAGE
This will be fun...............
Will you be able to decrypt.
decrypt >verb, make (a coded or unclear message) intelligible.
The message is as follows.
Back in the day there was a track named Sooner Pearl. Only now it is closed. Bad location was its downfall, did someone see?
In the end it was sad to see it close, it was the ‘old track'.
Do not be fooled. Intentions have to be good. Dedication is required, it is more than hard work and money.
Now the plan is coming together. One thing is sure, it requires research and investigation.
What is ahead, we do not know. Right now we look to the future. Our plan is to forge ahead. Now is not the time to relax. Good times are ahead, for the hard work is not fruitless.

If you can find all the encrypted messages above you are good. Here is another........
This may look like a spam email you have received lately. Do not read this unless you have a lot of time to devote to decryption.

Mary had a little lamb but had no sense of smell.
The lamb got lost one day and a mole could not see the lambs feet.
A week later Mary got lost and could not find the tree in the middle.
The tree pointed the way but could not speak like spaghetti sauce.
One day a boy walked home from the can of worms.
Some radio played in the forest, then we lost our wheel bearings.
Grease flew like butterflies and time is not still like a river.
A can of olives packed like sardines in cream sauce with sugar on top.
What happened to our OJ, all is not lost the lamb with dirty shoes.
Untie your shoes someday it will be better to look like a cactus.
Mix fiberglass, chocolate and tires for a great fire starter with handles.
And now a word from our sponsors.
If up is down and left is right what is burnt toast?
May we help you find the tire wash for black shoes and the Red socks?
And last but not yesterday.
Tomorrow comes when all time had expired and the gas tank.
The beginning never got started but sparks did follow a slow tune.

WORK AND 2008 SO FAR
We are now drying out and things are starting to look much better. There has been work ongoing at Trosper Park and we have much in line for the near future. Could we see some real progress now toward the building of a track?
Now with the end of the 3rd quarter of 2008 and lets reflect on this year.
To start off the year Sooner Pearl BMX is closed. Most every month sees events cancelled due to weather and track conditions. March 10 saw the opening of Sooner State BMX, a story in itself. Sooner State BMX proves they can race on days when rain falls. Work is delayed on the new Sooner Pearl, weather, permits to name a few. Sooner State Games first even BMX race in 2008 at Yukon BMX. The Oklahoma State Championship Race was it awarded to the track with the most membership points or was the scoring mis-handled by ABA?
ABA cancels Redline Cup Central Final due to Hurricane Ike rains on September 14, as of this date this race has not been re-scheduled. Pictures of St Peters BMX Sept. 14,2008

MORE HURRICANE RAIN
During today we started to get rain from Hurricane Ike. Southeast of the City is getting much more rain than we are here but and at 10pm the rain has stopped and we will not be getting more of Ike. Maybe we will have a few days of dry weather.
There has been more work in the effort to build the new track and some work to go beyond just the track itself has also been in focus. Lights, PA, building, parking, seating are only a few things. Better times are ahead and we plan for and work for a better facility in the end. We are continuing to grow as we go if you will and when the time comes most will see that races are not running but our program is growing in the background. Also look around Sooner Pearl is not the only track growing and there is always something going on to help develope our sport in Oklahoma.

Tropical Storm Lowell (Pacific Ocean storm) has moved into the US and is adding to the existing huge line of rain showers in the Southern Plains. Oklahoma City has already had some rain the last 2 days from the line of storms and rain from Tropical Storm Lowell. We are keeping an eye on Hurricane Ike as it makes landfall along the Texas coast. Hurricane Ike may add even more rain here and we could be looking at nearly a week of rain total.

DANGER HURRICANE IKE AHEAD
Well where do we start talking about the weather this year. Even though 2008 has not (by any means) proven to be a record holder year for rain it has affected BMX racing much this year. Oklahoma is not the only area which had a high number of cancellations for 2008. Wichita and Little Rock has had a high percentage of races and practices 'washed out' this year and things are not getting better. Not that we do not believe in 'Global Warming' but where is the heat and we thought the heat would slow the amount and number of times we get rain. It seems like just the opposite?
To top off this week we have another Hurricane in the Gulf of Mexico which will undoubtably dump even more rain on us and may be here by next weekend. As we have said before the timing of the rain has a lot to do with whether a race or practice can happen. Has there been many times we have had rain the day of or day before an event which caused a cancellation, you bet.

We are also working with a local electrician to have a temporary power pole installed to have OG&E to connect our new service to for power. Once the temporary pole has been set OG&E will engineer the new service, remove the existing service and install the new service. We are hoping this will be in work soon as well.

WELL SITE CLEANUP
We had some time on the phone with the Oklahoma Corporation Commission who oversees the process of getting a abandoned well site cleared. We have had a bit of luck with this item and it looks like we may see some work in the next few weeks on this. There will be several days of work involved to clean up the well site. We also found out today we have a 'mud pit' next to the well and it will be cleaned up as well. Thank you OERB and the Oklahoma Corporation Commission!

The mail box was empty again today, not even a bill to collect from the Post Office, Now we are in the process of getting things lined out to get some work started but it may be a few weeks before we see any real work going on at Trosper. The grass is looking real good now with all this attention and the area is cleaning up nicely.

The Bobcat got a work out today in the woods clearing brush. It was a warm day to be back in the woods without any air movement and the bugs were thick almost as thick as the brush. We did get a little clearing made to have access to the well site which will be cleaned up by OERB on the property.

DRY WORK DAY
Things are starting to get dried out from all the rain we had earlier in the week. We mowed again today but we did not get out till late in the afternoon so we only got about half the track area mowed. We will be out with the mower and the Bobcat tomorrow working. With the rain has come a nice green carpet of grass which looks much better after mowing. We still have a lot of work ahead.

CANCELLED STATE CHAMPIONSHIP RACE
At 9:06 am today it was announced the State Championship Race had been cancelled and rescheduled for September 28th. We sure hope that since the rain came in August it don't come in September! Mother Nature is a handfull in outdoor sports like BMX and we have to wing it with the weather.
After having all 3 American riders qualify for the Mains in BMX racing at the Olympics yesterday Oklahoma was not the only ones watching the sky. The remaining rounds were moved to Friday from Thursday due to rain. Kyle Bennett had another day to nurse his dislocated left shoulder and everyone else had an additional day to rest for the last day of racing.

A LITTLE RAIN, OLYMPICS
It was a nice cool morning but there was misting rain and some showers in the City area. It did however clear off and stop raining by mid morning. The streets were drying out but with the amount of rain we have had it will take some time to get things dry. Since it has been cool, the winds have been light and it has been overcast it may be several days before things really dry out.
Things are heating up over in China at the 2008 Olympics. The BMX racing has been on everyones mind for a long time now and it is about to make its debut as an Olympic Sport. Since most everything has come to a stand still in Beijing to help clear the SMOG the weather has been nice and we haven't seen many wearing masks!

The rain stayed with us most of this morning but tapered off later in the day and things did dry out a small amount. There has been enough rain in the last few days to make anyone think there will not be any racing this coming weekend. We will have to see as we still have rain in the forecast.

THE FUTURE
Well if you take today as a sign it looks like rain. We do have more rain in the forecast and as I write this even more is coming down. If you want to look we have more rain till at least Thursday and then more ahead over the weekend. Not a pretty sight for those of us who play in the dirt.
As far as the future we have a thought. In the future we will find out that some are not who we believe they are and others will prove who they are. Today we said goodbye to Ricky Axtell our resident Marine. For a little while he will be a resident of sunny southern California. He will be there to represent you and I. While there we hope to see him represent us on the local ABA tracks as well. Some day soon he will have stories to tell about racing in California, we know they will be good stories.

A LITTLE RAIN
The work was hard but we got it done. Ever try to walk through a forest that no man has walked before for many years? It is not an easy task to forge a trail when you can't see what is ahead? That is what our children do each day. We need to help then see the way.
Today we got some work done not enough but we keep forging ahead. At least today in our work we got a little more breather from the heat with a nice Summer shower. To bad we were working in the dirt and the rain made things messy. So goes another day.

We ended up working on vehicles today and was not able to make it to Trosper. We got the vehicles repaired and we will be out working tomorrow. More cleanup is on tap for us and we will get a little more area ready to mow but we will not be mowing. Things are starting to look nice and once we are finally able to start building a track the area should be in great shape. Now all we need is time to get those pesky permits in order.

It has been an uphill battle getting some of those permits but we keep after them and sooner or later we will get permits.

It was time to clean up the bike path today. All the trash was picked up and the limbs and debris was removed. We also picked up some limbs in the trees, picked up rocks and cleared all the Johnson grass across the front of the property.
Not that we care but the old Sooner Pearl building has now been vandalized and is open to the public. A WALK IN THE PARK/WOODS
It was a cake walk, no it was a walk in the woods, no it was more like a war of man, machine (or lack there of) and wilderness. Walking in a place where no man as set foot for years, a wilderness in the City. A wilderness no less in a City Park. A place like a warm blanket of dust, trees, critters of all sorts and vines some of which have these sharp thorns that can wrap you up and shred you. Then add some 4 foot drops some old tires, rocks, dead trees, fleas, ticks, flies, mosquitoes, chiggers. We may have missed something but not much. Oh yea heat, we forgot the heat, only 102.9°. PERMITS, PERMITS, PERMITS
Oh say was that not the same headline as for August 1st? It is not a mistake or typo. So things are moving along at the snails pace. What is the problem with getting a 'Notice of Intent' (also known as a NOI) for a 'Storm Water Polution Prevention Plan' (also known as a SWPPP or SW3P) to play in dirt? It could be that we are or should we say 'have been wanting to play in the dirt' for months now and we are still waiting for permits. This could go on for a long time both literally and figuratively. It is not an easy task to start from scratch and build a track. Just saying to word 'building' seems to mean delays and permits (which means more delays) and of course that word 'building' has a lot of other meanings to people.

On July 15, 2008 the Newlon family lost Trenton Newlon to a horrible boating accident in Idaho. ALL OVER BUT THE CRYING
What a weekend in Ponca City. With rain both days and the the hard work of many people from watching the track at night to get Sign Ups done to the officials it was great. The $1000 ProAm Shootout and Race for Life make a heck of a day of racing. Sunday proved the stuff of the newest track in Oklahoma and it was all good. The economy was the least of our worries with the HOT racing going on. Gotta hand it to Sooner State BMX they pulled off a great weekend, if you didn't go you missed out big time! RAIN, SQR, PONCA CITY
Another day of rain was in store today and once again there was a delay in starting the races but things went well. Once again the timing was good, Sign ups were pushed out and races started as soon as the track was ready. The track did a great job of taking the rain and looking even better today after the rain than it did yesterday after the rain. Those folks have done an outstanding job of getting the track to shed water. With some raking and packing, wind and sunshine did the job. For their first State Qualifier there was 26 motos, not bad at all. A nice job by everyone at Sooner State BMX!
Did you see the picture in the Ponca City Sunday newspaper? A great picture of the ProAm Shootout. A look on the Sports Section front page has a nice pic of the riders coming out of the 1st turn.
To wrap up on the weekend we could not leave out a very important person who came out both days this weekend. Little Miss Alaina Lunsford of Ponca City. Saturday Alaina got a trophy which is taller than she is to show our Sport and Sooner State BMX wishes her the best in fighting Leukemia. RAIN AND RFL TODAY
The day started out nice with a clear sky but that changed fast. About 10am the clouds had moved in and the rain was coming down. The rain was light at first but then it turned to heavy rain and just kept coming down. By noon the track was wet and we started sweeping the puddles off the track. Since Sign Ups were scheduled to close at 1pm and the rain still had not quit it was time to make a change. The track and weather was looked at very closely. Then the rain stopped and it was decided to delay races till 4pm. That was the start of a great day of racing. With 19 motos and 74 riders it was a real Race for Life, then there was 10 riders loaded up for the ProAm Shootout. If you didn't make it then you missed out big time. After the phone calls and emails then came the paperwork and we got a little time for working on the web site today. Some pages are getting updated to Style Sheets and reformated similar to this page of the web site.
Did you know today was an important day in BMX in the state of Oklahoma. Many may not know this but 20 years ago today Oklahoma BMX Parents Association was recognized as a 501(c)3 non-profit.

MORE CLEANUP
After a day of regular work we went to Trosper and work for a couple hours cleaning up trash and working out the weedeater. We have a few plum bushes which we will keep intact on the west of the area where the track is to be built. The west end was where we worked today and we will continue this work across the north side to clean up to prepare for the building of the track and utility work which we will need for the track.

WEB WORK
We started off to work outside today but things would not allow this. The phone started ringing and would not stop. With this in mind we stayed near the computer and there was no better time to start working on a new project on the track part of the web site. We are working with more Trosper BMX riders to get more stuff for LOOK BACK.

5th of JULY, 2008
Today we took a day off from track work and worked on personal items. It was nice to have a day off to relax and stay inside where it was cool. Time to start up the air conditioning to air it out for the Summer. Also some time was dedicated to working on other projects and plans. It seems things have slowed down on track construction. We hope things will break loose soon.

4th of JULY
Things got off to a slow start this year on our Nations Birthday. A day for all of us to remember we are Americans and remember the birth of this great nation. It was a warm one and there were many celebrations around town in the evening to mark the occasion. We hope everyone had a fun and safe day.

LOOK BACK
Once there was a thought and now it is becoming a reality. We have started to post info on our 'LOOK BACK' at BMX history in Oklahoma. Many thanks to our 1st writing contributer Steve Clymer for his piece 'Here's what I remember most about the old Trosper BMX track' . We look forward to hearing from many more Trosper BMX riders and others who may want to add to our look at BMX History in Oklahoma. Contact Richard Axtell at richard@okbmx.com

DIXON DOWN
The Dixon is down for a week or more waiting for parts. We did however hear the Yukon BMX track rebuild is complete except for the application of soil conditioner which will be applied soon. We will be very interested in the outcome of the said conditioner and how it works with the soil and track use.
Have a fun and safe 4th of July Holiday. It appears all the tracks will be closed this weekend, Track Operators and volunteers need a day off from the work of our sport.

MOWING
Today we did some mowing but without the Dixon mower as our repair did not last long and then other parts broke. The mowing was completed and now we have more parts to order for repairs.
On a lighter note:
More things are going on now and words are flying, what a concept, flying words. All the open tracks have things happening and we have none. We heard there were feelings over the review of the Sooner State Games race. One has to look inside to decide which path to take at a crossroads in life. Our path has been chosen.

WORK ON DIXON
So today we worked on lawn mowers mainly the Dixon. It seems one of the blades shafts had some problems and we hope to have it fixed till we get a new part next week. Since we have the 4th of July weekend ahead it will be a good time to be out mowing at Trosper this coming weekend. We will see how long it lasts.
