06-30-2005 NO RACE TODAY/WORK DAY
We will not Race today as the track is still rough and needs more
work before we can use it. There was a handful of us out working last night
and we will be out working again tonight after 7pm. We could use your help
so bring out a weedeater or mower and lets get the track looking great!

The track is looking much better with most of it smooth. We still have much
more work to do to get it ready for the race next Monday. We could use your

We have a dry track now and it is starting to look very nice. A few of us
did work on the track last night. THANKS TO THOSE WHO HELPED.
TOP OF PAGE 06-23-2005 NO RACE TODAY/WORK DAY
We will not Race today as the track is to rough, it still needs much work
before we can use it for Races or Practice. There have been only 3 people
helping repair the track. With this in mind IF YOU DON'T HELP, we won't
race till July 4th. Any local riders who want to race (either track)
will need to volunteer to help each track function. Yukon BMX has been
getting some help from a handful of parents and riders but both tracks
have suffered much damage from the rains we have had in the last month.
Sooner Pearl had heavy damage and needs much work, Yukon BMX (we believe)
has raced but still needs work also. Parent and racers need to step up to
help as the few who are helping will get tired of working by
THEMSELVES. It takes EVERYONE to make a track function. It is
time for you to STEP UP.
We will be out working on the track this evening after 6:30pm and could use
your help, also we will need to get many volunteers to work the Redline Cup
race on the 4th of July and the Race for Life / State Qualifier the middle
of next month.

Sooner Pearl will be hosting the only Redline Cup Qualifier in Oklahoma on
July 4th. Three people have been out working on the track most every night
to get it in shape just to ride on. As it stands today the 1st. straight
is clear and good the rest of the track is rough. Since only 3 poeple have
been working on the track without any help from riders, parents or Board
members the track (more than likely) will not be ready to race till July
3rd. This race will go on as scheduled and the track will be in shape.

Sooner Pearl now has the Redline bicycle which will be given away during
the race on July 4th. We will have it out for display as soon as we get it
assembled and ready to ride. It looks nice and is a limited edition bike
as only 50 are built each year to be given away at the Redline Qualifiers.

We will not race today for several reasons, the track is way to rough, it
is FATHERS DAY and very little help this week. Sooner Pearl needs you to
come out to repair the track for racing and practice. As usual the more
volunteer help we have the sooner the track will be SAFE enough and smooth
enough for riding.
We will be out working on the track Tuesday evening and could use your help,
also we will need to get many volunteers to work the Redline Cup race on

TOP OF PAGE 06-18-2005 NO RAIN TODAY
We were scheduled to have a WORK DAY today but due to circumstances the
Track Operator was unable to go to the track. A vehicle was required and
our vehicle was not available to drive to the track and the driver was
unable to correct the problem till late in the day. If you came out to work
on the track (I apologize for not coming) we are sorry for the delay and
for no being able to go to the track Saturday.
TOP OF PAGE 06-17-2005 MORE RAIN TODAY
After getting 1 day without rain (yesterday) more came again today and the
track is muddy and more than rough. A few people did come out to work last
night and we did get a little bit of the track looking good BEFORE THE
RAIN TODAY. Without more HELP the track will be closed for several days due
to the MUCH NEEDED RAIN. Now we hope the rain stays away for a week or so
and we can get the track back in shape for riding.

The track is very rough from more rain and it is really rough now. We have
been getting heavy rain and this has washed the track most of the way
around. It looks as if we have more rain on the way tonight so it may get
worse before it gets better. We will be out working on the track tonight

The track was a little muddy yesterday evening and rough from all the rain
but we will have Practice tonight. We will be working on the track and
Practicing both tonight. The way things are going we may cancel some Races
and Practices this month due to work scheduling. We will let you know what
is going to happen as we find out what our schedule will be. If you come

TOP OF PAGE 06-13-2005 MORE RAIN LAST NIGHT
We had some heavy rain in the evening last night and it looks as if we may
get more early this morning. No tornadoes but high winds, heavy rain and
more lightning than we could imagine last night. It was quite a sight both
on the ground and looking at the local radar. The local television weather
forecasters had a busy night for sure.

We will cancel races for today, the track is very muddy.
We had heavy rain yesterday and it looks as if we will be getting more
this morning. The track is muddy from yesterdays rain and more rain will
only make the area around the track greener but will not be much help for
the rain eroded track. All this rain has washed much of the track away,
much work will be needed to repair it for our races next month.

It was time for RAIN today as we have had some heavy rains move across the
city area early this morning. It was more like a lake than track today as
most of the area off track was under water early this morning. The track
had many wet places with some under water.
STARTING June 19th we will have a WORK DAY each week till the end of summer.
We will be working to improve the track and changing some of the track after
the middle of July.

TOP OF PAGE 06-06-2005 NOT AS MUCH DAMAGE AS THOUGHT
It seems the track was missed by most of the heavy rains and was not as
damaged as we thought. That is a good thing. This time of the year is
with very heavy rains hitting the city area. The track was missed by most
when things start getting heated up for all the BIG races around here and
in the nearby states. It is time for YOU to get to the track and work on
your riding abilities, also to help SUPPORT the track.

We will cancel racing today due to rain early this morning.
The rain is back and this time it is heavy rain with hail. At 5:30 am the
rain has come back and it has been raining for about a half hour now. The
track is very wet and getting worse. As it looks we will be getting more
rain for the next hour or so with more in store for today as we have a cold
front overhead and the storms are popping up along this cold front line. As
it looks currently we may not be able to use the track for several days if
we get much more rain today due to bad washing of the track and no time to
get things back in shape.

It seems our spring rains have come to town these last few weeks with
spotty rain but no major rain so far this year. Well that changed today
with very heavy rains hitting the city area. The track was missed by most
of the rain and is still very dry today but we have a forecast for more
rain tomorrow. We would like to get more rain but we don't want to cancel
events due to rain. The last year has been our worst in memory as far as
cancelling events and more rain will just make it worse.

We did not RACE yesterday as planned due to the complete lack of riders
coming to the track to race. The track is in the best condition it has
been in this year and we have no riders who come to race. Our team of
volunteers have been working hard to keep the track in shape to no avail as
all the work is for not if no riders come to race.

We will Race today with Sign ups starting 1 hour after the end of the race
at Yukon BMX. We will update the phone message as soon as we know what time
Sign ups will start. The track is smooth and ready to ride so we want
everyone to come out and race at Sooner Pearl tomorrow afternoon. The
weather forecast is for warm temps in the upper 70s or lower 80s for the
high and little wind so it will be a great day to race.

We did have a bit cooler weather today but it did make it to the 80s and
once again we made it without rain. The track is in good shape and a few
of us will be out working on getting things ready for our Sunday race. With
no rain today the track is dry and ready for racing and we will be getting
a little of the grass mowed today.

Once again we had rain today and things did get wet this time. One good
thing about the rain is it did cool things off quite a bit today. The
weather forecast for the weekend is for a chance of rain till Monday. We
could use more rain but let it happen after Sunday so we can get in a race
over the weekend.

We will Race today with Sign ups from 6-7pm. We got more sprinkles again
today and again it was not enough to get the track wet. If you plan to race
in the State Qualifier at Yukon Sunday you need to get out and race today.
Sunday will be the second State Qualifier and if you plan to work on a State
Championship this year you need to race 2 of the 3 races this year. Since
Sand Springs has already had their race and you didn't make it there you need
to get to this race and our State Qualifier.

It was much cooler today and we did get a few sprinkles of rain but not
enough to even get the track wet. We did have some visitors to the track
last night who tried very hard to enter the tower but as usual they were
very tired and unhappy went they finally gave up. They just like to work
up a sweat for nothing as they did not get into the building.

We will Practice today from 6:30-8:30pm. It looks as if the rain has passed

The weekend is packed full of events all over Oklahoma. The CBF/HSA event
here in Oklahoma City Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Sands Springs BMX will
have their annual Race for Life today and their State Qualifier race Sunday,

With the weather in mind Sooner Pearl WILL NOT RACE Sunday. We were
planning to race Sunday evening after the Sand Springs race but they are

This weekend is packed full of racing action. Saturday starts off with
Yukon BMX racing early in the morning. Saturday afternoon Sand Springs BMX

wind is down again today. It looks as if we will have rain moving in
this evening. Today may be the only day on the track till next weekend if
you look at the weather forecast.
The hard work on the track is starting to pay off as we have much dead
grass on the track. The poison seems to have done a job on the grass and
now it needs to get cleaned off and areas will need to be packed. If we
get rain later today and Monday it will be WORK TIME on the track while it
is damp and easy to work.

and maybe even some from out of the country. Matt Hoffman will be there,
and with him comes HIGH PROFILE BMX riding. Could be a good time to come
out to the track as there will be riders there from the event.

with grass killer yesterday and it would be a good idea to stay off the

The wind is still here but all else is great. Today it was in the upper 70s
with puffy white clouds but no rain which is good. The rain will be back so
we need to take this weather to get on the track and ride. WILL SOONER PEARL BE LOCKED?
After the many attempted break-ins we have had in the last 2 months it may
come to locking the track when we are not using it. We would like to know

Rain popped up in town at about 11:30am, we will cancel races for today. We

What a day at the track today with vandals, cops, street people and our
local riders who don't race making it to the track. At about 5pm a couple
of us were going back to the track to find 6 young men working on the
Mobile Mini door locks in daylight. What will it take to at least slow this
type of disrespect for the track and our property. Today since we caught
the guys in the act the Police wasted only a few minutes getting to the
track to investigate what was happening. More paperwork is all it has gotten
us along with extra bills to repair the damages.

The weather was great today with little wind, clear skies and NO RAIN. It
seems we do get some good weather on the WRONG days to Race or Practice.
The good thing about this is it will change in a couple days and we will
have good weather for out races. As it looks today Sunday races may be
cancelled again due to rain we will have to wait to see what happens.

We did have a Practice tonight but no one came to Practice as it was again
very windy at least till the sun went down. While we did not Practice we
did do a little work around the track and on the track. Things are still
changing here and there with more work on the 2nd straight tonight. It may

We had some very windy weather yesterday and we guess most riders didn't
want to get out to the track, so we did not race on Sunday. The track is
looking good and getting greener each day. All things considered it was
very windy but a few riders did come out and we Practiced for a couple
hours even with the windy conditions.
TOP OF PAGE 04-03-2005 RACE TODAY
We will be racing today with Sign ups from 1-2pm. We are hoping for very
good weather and good rider turn out. The year has been full of fun so far
along with hard work getting and keeping the track in good shape. New riders
are coming out and the racing is turning out to be very good at most races.
Some minor work is needed before we can race today. Since we did get rain
with the local riders riding on the wet track things are a little rough in
few places. Things are looking good for a few days as the weather forecast
is nice for the next few days with only small chance of rain, it would be
nice to get in a Practice night for a change or 2 races in the same week
maybe?

TOP OF PAGE 04-02-2005 LOCK ON THE GATE?
Things are really getting green around the track and the number of visitors
has increased each week. With the opening of the new Skate Park just a few
blocks away many bike riders have been migrating to Sooner Pearl. That is
not the only thing that has been migrating to the track as we have had
several motorcycle riders on the track and more than our share of just
out right vandalism the last few weeks. As for the lock on the gate that
may be in the future for Sooner Pearl.
Today the track was dry again and there are some spots which will need work
before we race tomorrow. Most of the track is in good shape and with a
little work all will be well again for Sunday races.
TOP OF PAGE 04-01-2005 COOL AND DRY
It was cool and a little windy today but dry with clearing skies. After
cancelling races on Thursday evening the rain did come but much later than
at the time we cancelled. We were lucky in that we didn't get much rain and
the track is mostly dry. However we did have some riders who did ride the
muddy places and made a mess.
Sooner Pearl will not race on Saturday. With the track in the shape it is
currently in and other considerations we will not race. Now for some better
news as most know Sooner Pearl will be moving due to the relocation of I-40
to just north of where Sooner Pearl is currently located. Plans are ongoing
to move the track to another location in the near future some of the OKBMXPA
will be meeting with City Officials. All of us hope for good results for the
future of Sooner Pearl.

At 5pm we have heavy thunderstorms moving into the city area so we will
cancel races today. Sorry folks. The weather needs to start co-operating
so we can get in a race or two.
The track is in good condition and a little rain would help get things so
we can get more work done on it. The huge pile of rocks located on the
northwest side of the track is now gone but there needs to be some more
work done to completely clean up the mess there but the rocks are gone. It
looks much better there now anyway.

The weather was great today and things are looking good at the track. The
grass is starting to get green and grow which means mowing is in order for
our next project at the track.
It looks like we will get some rain tomorrow but as for now we will have to
wait to see what happens. If we have rain or storms Thursday we may try to
race on Saturday if we can get things arranged. We will let you know
about this Friday if we can race or not on Saturday. The forecast is for
real nice weather for the weekend.

The weather is nice except for the 40mph wind, we will cancel Practice for
today due to the strong winds. Most riders would not want to come out to
ride because of the wind.

have been working on it to make it better. We could use your help as we
