12-31-2007 LAST DAY
The end of 2007 is upon us and there are a few items we need to talk about.
It has been a good year for BMX in Oklahoma. A new track is about to open
in Ponca City, which has been in the works for over 3 years now.
Sooner Pearl is on the move after many years of wondering when. And so
we end this year with many things to be thankful for.
As you start 2008.
Without you we would not survive and grow.
Thank you for your support.
May you have the best year.
Be safe, have fun, ride hard.
We look forward to a great year in 2008 and we hope to have you at our all
new track soon. The year ahead will prove to be a very defining year for
our sport and we will see many changes along with some suprises. Thanks
again from all of us at Sooner Pearl BMX Raceway, Oklahoma BMX Parents
Association and okbmx.com.
Have a SAFE New Years holiday and a great 2008. We will see you at
Cowtown BMX later today.

The WORK DAY was very cold. After surveying some of the property we decided
to go home due to the weather. As luck may have it a few minutes later the
sun came out and it warmed up enough to get a little work in for the day.
WHAT WOULD YOU DO?
Would you, put a smile on another persons face?
Would you, let someone go in front of you out of courtesy?
Would you, do something even though you had not been told?
Would you, stop a drinking driver?
Would you, tell anyone you enlisted in the Marines?
Would you, cheat to win?
Would you, help yourself to anothers property?
Would you, volunteer for a job without any pay?
Would you, be a friend?
Would you, co-operate to help yourself and others?
Would you, lie to someone to better yourself?
Would you, read all this?
OK now it is time to go cut more tree limbs.

Now that the above headline has your attention, please read this. And so
it goes that most don't read what they look at on the internet. The 'SIGN'
images for the 'NEW' Sooner State BMX are as they say 'Photoshop' images.
Now it is true Sooner State BMX is in Ponca City and located across the
highway from a Conoco refinery as well as most of the board members have
jobs related to Conoco or at Conoco. Those sign images are of a sign for a
Conoco gas station however not in Ponca City. If one had looked very hard
they would notice the picture does not look even remotely like the location
of Sooner State BMX. As for the January 1, 2008 race shown on the signs,
let us ponder that since it clearly states the images are doctored.
If you want to see the sign you will have to go to Ponca City. Word has it
the sign is under armed guard and anyone other than a few select people
would be shot trying to get a peek!
TOP OF PAGE 12-28-2007 BIG NEWS!
Our scheduled WORK DAY is still on for tomorrow. We will be out about 10am
to start work. We hope it warms up a little by 10am! We will be cleaning up
in the front of the property and clearing broken limbs from the ice damaged
trees.

TOP OF PAGE 12-27-2007 MORE ICE AND SNOW
Well things are looking like snow around here today with ice and snow
starting to come down after a long dreary cloudy cold day. Things did get
above freezing for a short time right after midnight and stayed that way
till just after dark when the ice and snow started falling. We hope things
dry out a little before Saturday for our WORK DAY.
TOP OF PAGE 12-26-2007 SNOW & SLEET
The Christmas Holiday now over it is time to work on bigger and better
things. We are scheduled to have a WORK DAY next Saturday at Trosper Park.
If the weather is not wet we will be out working on areas we want to clear
brush and limbs lost from the Ice Storm. It won't be long till we will
begin work on the land for the track and building.
TOP OF PAGE 12-25-2007 MERRY CHRISTMAS
Christmas Day is upon us and have we forgotten the meaning of this
holiday? Long ago Jesus Christ was born on this day. He came to show us
love, peace and forgiveness. Today we celebrate his birth.

As the lines at stores started to grow over the PA you could hear 'WalMart
is closing in 15 minutes' and things start to get rough. People are in a
hurry to get those last minute specials and gifts for those left on their
list. It was almost time to go home and try to relax for a few minutes just
to get ready to finish the wrapping and go somewhere for dinner. The
children are ready to go to bed for once so Saint Nick can come with the
good stuff. But is it a quiet night?
TOP OF PAGE 12-23-2007 PROGRESS
As the Christmas Holiday is winding up so are efforts to start the new
track at Trosper Park. Plans are in works to begin in January and we hope
Mother Nature will bless us with some nice weather to get the track built.
The Ice Storm has increased our work load as we have many more trees which
need attention now. We have a proposal for a new sign at Trosper which we
have not seen. Work is going to get our driveway cleared and gravel put in
place to enter the property. We will be out December 29th to start work, it
looks like we may have good weather for that day.
THANK YOU MERRY CHRISTMAS
TOP OF PAGE 12-22-2007 MERRY CHRISTMAS
The long Christmas weekend has begun and it is time to get the last minute
shopping finished. All of us at Sooner Pearl BMX Raceway and Oklahoma BMX
Parent Association want to wish everyone a safe and happy Christmas holiday.
We want to say thanks for your help, for you coming to Sooner Pearl and
supporting our track in 2007. We have been working hard to keep things
together in 2007. Now we have a huge project ahead to rebuild to keep the
rich tradition forging ahead to continue into the future.
THANK YOU MERRY CHRISTMAS
TOP OF PAGE 12-21-2007 NICE WEATHER AGAIN, LAST ONE FOR WHILE
For the first day of Winter it was nice again today with the high temp
reaching 67°. Now things are going to go down hill from here over the
weekend. Not a bad day to start the long Christmas weekend. For many this
is their first day of shopping for Christmas since a huge amount had been
working to clear the mess from out ICE STORM and getting all utilities
restored. Things are starting to look up NOW!
TOP OF PAGE 12-20-2007 GOOD WEATHER TODAY
So here we are at the end of Fall heading into Winter and the weather was
fairly nice today with light winds and mid 60's for a high today. The last
bits of ice and snow are now only a memory as well as the power outages.
Today it was announced everyone has power restored now. All the out of state
line crews have get things back up and this weather has helped them. A very
few are leaving Oklahoma City for another problem area but most are here to
stay a few more days to help get things cleaned up. Many like myself had
power but only a temporary fix. Our lines had about 5 tons of wood laying
on top of it. Today our line was restored after much work clearing tree
debris from over the line and restoring it to high above my back yard. City
infrastructure is another item left to clear up but if the weather holds
that will be completed soon as well. A BIG THANK YOU to all those who came
to help us in our time of need!

RACE SEASON OVER FOR 2007
TOP OF PAGE (405) 235-3602 Track phone has info on Practice and Races.12-19-2007 WHAT IS AHEAD?
In order to get a track up and running at Trosper Park we have a short list.
Dirt
Electric
Water
Something we forgot
Short list of items, with these we can start to build a track. On the dirt
we are looking for 1000 yards of fill dirt and 6000 yards for the track.
Once we have enough dirt the track will be built. After the track is
shaped then the real fun starts. We may have a social experiment while we
are working to get the track ready to ride.
TOP OF PAGE 12-18-2007 MORE NICE WEATHER?
Now today the weather was a lot better and we are supposed to have a few
days we get up to around 50° and dry...yes. The year has been a major
weather year and we still have a few days left to make even more weather
records! How about sunny and 68° for Christmas Day? Sound good? It could
happen in Oklahoma.
Is there room for another track in Oklahoma?
TOP OF PAGE 12-17-2007 MORE DAMAGE, WHO CARES?
We drove by the 'old track' today and guess what we found? Things had been
strangely quiet for some time but now we have had some more damage. But you
know we just don't care! It is going to be bull dozed any time now. We did
have a somewhat better day today as far as the weather is concerned. It did
start to defrost and now most of the ice and snow is melted. There are still
over 50,000 people without electric service today in Oklahoma. Now many
have whole front yards full of tree debris from the ice on trees.
TOP OF PAGE 12-16-2007 MOVING ON
It is Sunday and we have moved on. Sooner Pearl BMX is officially closed
on South Western and we are relocating to the Trosper Park location. What
a ride is was on Western Ave. for 20 years. It was the best days of the
last 5 years when we moved everything out of the Tower. Now all
the mis-information about Sooner Pearl moving is behind us. We are
moving now to a slightly larger area and hopefully a little better
neighborhood on Grand Boulevard. Maybe we can have a building which is not
built like a bunker. It was just a thought.....
TOP OF PAGE 12-15-2007 END OF 2007 RACE SEASON
The last day to race for 2007. Well not here!
Today at 6:07pm was the end of a 20 year chapter in the history of Sooner
Pearl BMX Raceway. NOW SOONER PEARL IS CLOSED, OFFICIALLY CLOSED
Words many have waited some time to hear.
Now hear this.... NEWER BIGGER FASTER BETTER
A new chapter started many months ago continues.
With the closing of our original location comes our
unofficial opening in Trosper Park. Trosper Park has waited over 20 years
to become ABA BMX again. Once again history will be made at a location
already rich with ABA BMX history.

RACE SEASON OVER FOR 2007
TOP OF PAGE (405) 235-3602 Track phone has info on Practice and Races.12-14-2007 MORE WET WINTER WEATHER?
It is the day before the end of our race season and the weather here is bad
and getting worse. So much for racing again this year. Today we made it
above freezing and a lot of ice started to melt. With the cold air and all
moisture we started getting fog just after noon. Then it rained for a
couple hours later in the afternoon.
okbmx.com is now back after a 4 day outage of electricity and phone service.
TOP OF PAGE 12-13-2007 A GOOD DAY?
After it was all said and done the day was good. Our weather was back to
its normal strangeness. Our forecast was for clearing skies but someone
stole all the sunshine and left us with cloudy overcast skies and a cool
north wind. Not much change in the ice since it just made it above freezing
very late in the today. The move was on again today with most of the tower
cleared out and moved to a storage space.
TOP OF PAGE 12-12-2007 CLEAN UP STARTED
Things started to thaw today and the clean up began in earnest. Most
everything is still coated with ice but we did have some melt today. The
sound of chainsaws, utility crews could be heard all over the iced over
parts of the state. Two days into this and we still have nearly a half
million without power.
TOP OF PAGE 12-11-2007 ICE CITY
It is not a pretty sight. The areas in Oklahoma that got the heaviest
coating of ice looks like a war zone. With over 600,000 without power and
most of those without phone as well it is very quiet tonight. The streets
are a joke today for a work day. Wasted trees scattered everywhere and from
the looks of it, it will be weeks before all is cleared away. The ice has
slowed everything down to a crawl and we have had some unfortunate deaths
from the weather.
TOP OF PAGE 12-10-2007 WATCH OUT!
The stories will be about the same thing today. With the threat of dangerous
driving weather most took the day off or business' closed for the day.
Little did we know what was ahead. After a night of freezing rain we awoke
to the worst ice storm in Oklahoma history. At my home in Midwest City we
had well over a half inch of ice on everything. One good thing we had
no wind. As the sun came up the power lines started going down and trees
had already started to shed limbs. The trees took a hit a very bad hit.
From the sights seen today we have 50% of all trees with some damage, 5%
total losses, 25% with major damage and 20% with heavy to light damage.
At the end of this day we have about a half million without power, most
losing power and phone service before noon today. We had no land line phone
service for several hours with only cell phones working. Most phone service
started working about 2pm today. So the stories will go something like this,
We sat at home today and watched or heard snap, snap, crack, bang, smash as
the trees and power lines came crashing down in the wintery silence.....
okbmx.com lost power and phone service today at 11:05am, as it looks the
power will not be restored for several days.
The latest info on our move to Trosper Park get ithere.
TOP OF PAGE (405) 235-3602 Track phone has info on Practice and Races.12-09-2007 NO RACE TODAY
At about midnight it started to rain. We will not race today. It is not
going to get close to warm enough and now the track is wet and muddy. Looks
like we may have to do a little extra work this coming week to get ready to
make our final move from South Western. We will be moved out on December
15th.

WHEN CAN WE RACE?
TOP OF PAGE 12-08-2007 LAST RACE?
So the weather has taken a turn for the worse. We have had drizzle most of
the day but things are not wet yet. Our biggest factor is the temperatures
since the high for the day was at 1am this morning and it has fallen since.
With the forecast high of 30° which is well below our 40° race limit we
have all but cancelled our race for tomorrow. We will change the message
and here about 8am but it looks like no race for Sunday.
TOP OF PAGE 12-07-2007 COLD AND OVERCAST
It was not a nice day to say the least. We have had overcast skies and a
tiny bit of very light rain but it has not been very warm at all. Things
are not looking good for the weekend as well with rain and freezing rain
forecast for Saturday and Sunday respectively.
don't know it?
TOP OF PAGE 12-06-2007 WILL THERE BE A LAST RACE?
Now that we are on at the end of the week it looks like we may not get a
chance to race again this year. Our weather forecast has freezing rain for
Sunday with a high about 34° and some strong northerly winds gusting the
35mph. It really don't sound like racing weather but we will wait and see
what happens.

WHEN CAN WE RACE?
TOP OF PAGE 12-05-2007 COLDER WEATHER TODAY
Well it was cooler today but it was still nice if you could get out of that
wind. As it looks things are not going to get any better for several days.
This time of year you could schedule every day as a race day and still get
on 1 in 4 races in the end. Maybe we already had our last race but we
don't know it?
TOP OF PAGE (405) 235-3602 Track phone has info on Practice and Races.12-04-2007 EXTRAORDINARY DAY
Ya know when you go on a long trip and you just want to see that familiar
skyline or landmark so you know home is not to far away. So today I was
driving home and wondering how I would feel tonight when I got to 'that'
place. Then I thought about what happened today and said to myself it will
not be the same tonight. Thanks for the free dinner, I forgot to say that
today. Maybe it was deja vu in reverse I was where I will be soon, doing
what I've never done before? What a blast doing what I will be doing again?
What is the answer and where is the question!
TOP OF PAGE 12-03-2007 RACE INFORMATION
As most of you know Sooner Pearl is in the path of the I-40 highway
relocation. December 9th 2007 will be the last official race at the current
location. We are trying to get information on the actual date of demolition.
So after 20 years of operation we will close at our South Western Ave.
location and focus on the move to Trosper Park. We will have information
here soon about our plans for Trosper Park.
Sooner State BMX
some photos from our visits to Ponca City will be posted soon.

See what you are getting into at this track. Things are getting on track
and the track is looking sweet.
As we have said before just WHEN CAN WE RACE?
TOP OF PAGE 12-02-2007 NO RACE TODAY
Once again we will cancel our race due to rain. The track is mostly dry
however there are a couple places where we have some mud and we have some
24mph sustained winds as well. To wrap up the 2007 race season we will
schedule our last race for the year on December 9th. Now our weather
forecast for next weekend looks good. Mark you calendar we will have a few
suprises for our last race of 2007. Sooner State BMX was
gracious enough to invite us to help prepare their track for racing. If you
have not seen their track it is BIG and it will be a track
you need to ride if you want to be a competitive Oklahoma ABA rider. Their
track is getting in shape. Since they have not gate yet a real race can not
be run but the first half of their track is looking awesome and is mostly
ready to ride! We are sure there will be a little riding going on today! A
huge THANK YOU and a 'job well done' is in order for the
newest track and its Track operator as well as the PCASA President. We had
a great day of hard work and play yesterday. As we have said before just
WHEN CAN WE RACE?

TOP OF PAGE (405) 235-3602 Track phone has info on Practice and Races.11-30-2007 RAIN TODAY
It was bound to happen and today is started raining in the City. At first
it was only light drizzle but it looks like it may get worse before it gets
better. At 4pm the track was still dry however we have had several hours of
drizzle since and things are starting to become soaked now. The forecast
is for clearing on Saturday so we may be able to race Sunday.
TOP OF PAGE (405) 235-3602 Track phone has info on Practice and Races.11-29-2007 COOLER WEATHER AND RAIN AHEAD?
Our weather forecast is for cooler temps and the chance for rain in the
next few days. We have been luck since we have not had any rain to speak of
for several weeks. Since we have already broken a record amount of rain in
a single year and more rain is just going to push the record higher. We
were lucky in 2006 since we had much less rain in 2006 and the rrain we did
get was timed so we were able to race more than in 2005 and 2007.
TOP OF PAGE 11-28-2007 SOONER STATE BMX
Now that the GRANDS are over we are focusing on the end of this year. It
has been a good year for racers in Oklahoma except for all the rain
cancelled events but we did get another track in the state this year. Not
ready to race but getting closer every day the track in Ponca City is well
on its way to a projected opening date of January 1, 2008.
TOP OF PAGE 11-27-2007 NO PRACTICE TODAY
Well since we have no lights and it looks like we will not be able to
repair our lights this year we will not have Practice again this year on
Tuesday evenings. We had already cancelled our events in the evenings due
to our light situation and since we had run out of daylight after we went
back to regular time this Fall. Without lights for the track there has been
some talk of changing our schedule so we can have events during daylight
hours, more on this in the near future.
TOP OF PAGE 11-26-2007 A DAY OF REST FOR SOME
The GRANDS are over for another year and today was a day of rest for some
and a day of driving home for many others. We would like to say
THANK YOU to all the riders, parents, sponsors, vendors,
manufacturers and ABA for coming together to make the 2007 GRAND National
such a huge success. This years racing has been a real roller coaster ride
in many ways. ABA announced there were 15 new tracks opened during this
year one of which was in Oklahoma. Things are getting in gear for the 2008
season and we will see more changes in ABA BMX in Oklahoma in '08.

So the big race started today. After a hard day of riding yesterday a lot
of the riders are now a little more agile at the track today. Both days
there has been a lot of crashin' goin' on. Today was not much different but
those who raced yesterday did have an advantage today. This track is BIG,
there are no easy ways around if you want to go fast and win. A few did
qualify due to downed riders but we have not heard of any bad accidents so
it ain't that bad.
Watch the finishes tomorrow on
www.go211.com.
So we now know the official track number of Sooner State BMX but where they
were to be placed district wise was still up in the air until today. So now
Sooner State BMX is an official OK02 track. Now when can we race?

1751, you may ask what the heck does that mean? Well if you ask Matthew
Grudowski from Ponca City he will tell you that is the track number for the
new track in Ponca City. With official ABA documents showing the track
number the big question is where will they be placed in Oklahoma district
wise?
TOP OF PAGE 11-22-2007 PRACTICE DAY, OH YA, TURKEY DAY
As anyone who 'lives BMX' knows Thanksgiving Day means your only chance to
Practice the GRAND National track before all the racing begins. Lets look
at that more closely. Our sport only asks for a few things. Scratches, cuts,
road rash, broken bones, an occasional pant leg (in the chain) and
Thanksgiving Weekend. There are a few items we left off the list. We did
that to separate, those few. Blood-Sweat-Tears, are what this weekend
is about. Much like a few other words. Past, Present, Future. They get
thrown in as well this weekend.
Thanks to those family, friend and neighbor, for your blood sweat and tears.
Those in the past built today, those of today build the future.
Thank you all for this beautiful country and this race. If you are not there (Tulsa) you better be on the way!

for with our high 79°.
TOP OF PAGE 11-16-2007 PONCA UPDATE
Sooner State has uploaded more pictures from the track build and it looks
like most of the track has been formed. So it looks like they may have

ready for racing. Things are going their way now.
TOP OF PAGE 11-15-2007 FINAL RACES FOR 2007
Sooner Pearl will race this weekend. We will be closed the weekend of GRANDS
, November 22-25 and will race as weather permits till December 15. There
are plans to squeeze in a couple Practice Days (on a weekend day) before
the door closes for 2007. Now only a week away from the GRAND National we
at Sooner Pearl want to try to say THANK YOU to so many people for
the 2007 race season. All the riders, parents and our volunteers, these are
the people who make this Sport great!
Thank you for letting Sooner Pearl into your lives, your Sport and for

Things are well on the way now in Ponca City. The track build is now in its
second day and the dirt is getting used at the huge rate. There have
already been changes and the track is not built yet! However things are
starting to look great and the track in now taking shape. Maybe Thursday
qill bring some UPDATED PICTURES (hint, hint)?
BMX is not the most promoted sport around. However there are many avenues
of promotion and we have been blessed with another. Last month many BMXers
had the chance to make history in a big way and one BMXer is NOW making the
history some only dream about. Sports Illustrated gave several sports the
opportunity to vote for one of their members, the winner is now on the
cover of SI KIDS. There are many mags around and being on a cover may not
be huge to many but this cover is HISTORY MAKING! The 1st SI KIDS cover to
honor ATHLETES of the YEAR. Congrats to Brock Heffron (ABA BMX member) and
'Leader of the pack' for SI Kids 'Athlete of the year'. Who is that guy on
the cover with him? Watch the video
Brock 'The Rock' Heffron,
Now will he change his 'nickname'? This guy will be one person I want to
shake hands with at the GRANDS!

Well things are really shaking now and come tomorrow the dirt will begin to
become the NEW
Sooner State BMX.
It is time for Billy Allen to go to work building the newest track in
Oklahoma and the 1st NEW BMX track in the Central US. Things are looking
very good and we can't wait to race there. Oh yea...we will be there to
get the lastest news about this track!
Does the name BUBBA HARRIS ring a bell? See Bubba in one of the newest NBC

TOP OF PAGE 11-11-2007 RACE TODAY
Sooner Pearl will Race today. Sign ups are 1-2pm. The weather will much
like today with some wind and clouds but warm. The weather has turned very
good the last few weeks and we have been spared from any rain.
Today is Veterans Day. Please say THANK YOU to one of our many Service
Members and remember those who have served this Great Country.
TOP OF PAGE 11-10-2007 WHERE ARE THEY NOW?
So the drive is not that bad and it is starting to look a lot like
Christmas?...............
Oh...we were to talk about
Sooner State BMX.
Well things are going their way and soon there will be Structures for both
Sign ups and Concessions. There is a bunch or dirt and from what we heard
today the dreams, hard work and plans are starting to become reality. We
took a few pictures today but to be honest 350 piles of dirt just ain't
that interesting. We did get a rough idea of the lay-out of the track and
from the sounds it will be different, National caliber, and located in a
very nice park. Now hold on theres more with a new Skate Park in the works
only a hundred feet or so from the BMX track.
TOP OF PAGE (405) 235-3602 Track phone has info on Practice and Races.11-09-2007 STRANGE THINGS
Sooner Pearl has over the years had some Strange Things happen. Now it
seems someone is trying to get a key to out gate in a round about way. For
the last few weeks our gate chain was cut each week. After 3 weeks we now
have 2 short links of our chain with a lock from who knows who in the
middle. In order to lock the gate we would use their lock? Who was it? No
calls, messages or letters. Oh well time for a new chain!
TOP OF PAGE 11-08-2007 IS IT ELECTRIC
Can we get some 'sparkys' over here? There seems to be electricity leaking
from that wire. NO we are OK and this was just a joke but we did have a
real Pro Electrician at the track today advising us on the lights and a few
other problems we have.
TOP OF PAGE 11-07-2007 WORK TODAY
This WORK DAY time is more for HISTORY than making the track better. Let
the work begin to catalog Sooner Pearl for the future. Many hard hours of
work is ahead to get the new track started. We have been working toward a
plan for the park land. As soon as this has been refined and OK'd by the
city we will have a look at it here.
TOP OF PAGE 11-06-2007 NO PRACTICE TODAY
Sooner Pearl will not Practice today. Sorry we made a mistake about the
Daylight Savings Time. Since we have not been able to repair our lights
and it now gets dark at 6pm Sooner Pearl will not have Practice or Races
during the work week. Sunday will be our regular Race day. Practice, we may
have to get a little creative on this?
LOOK BACK
It is nearing the end of 2007. The GRANDS are just over 2 weeks
away, the end of the Regular Race season is just over a month away. Now is
when we start to Look Back at the year. We at Sooner Pearl

TOP OF PAGE 11-05-2007 WHAT???????
OK, to start things off there was no work on the track today. You did read
that....right. We did work there but only to finish the survey of the
current track and everything there, trees and such.
However the weather changed today and cooled off about 20 degrees along
came the north wind at about 20mph with the drop of temperature. What is going to happen THIS MONTH?
Well only the BIGGEST races of the year. THE GRANDS, RACE OF
CHAMPIONS and National Age Group. Think about this
the biggest races of a year just over an hours drive away in Tulsa! So
there is more... the Pro Spectacular. But if you are racing you have

A few of us will be out working on the track today till about dark. Since
we have not had any rain for a few days the track is now totally dry and in
very good shape for riding. We have been working on getting more grass off
the track and more stickers removed around the track as well. We had some
really great weather today!
TOP OF PAGE 10-30-2007 WORK DAY, NO PRACTICE TODAY
Sooner Pearl will not have Practice today, we will be out working on the
track before sundown. We will have Practice next week which will be our 1st
week of Daylight Savings time. Since our lights are not functioning this
week will be without a Practice.
TOP OF PAGE (405) 235-3602 Track phone has info on Practice and Races.10-29-2007 NO WORK TODAY
No one will be at the track today working or otherwise. We had a great day
of racing and weather yesterday. We want to say THANK YOU to all who came
to race. The weather was in line to be one of the best weather days at the
track this year. Calm winds and mild temps made for a super day at the track.
TOP OF PAGE 10-28-2007 RACE TODAY
Sooner Pearl will race today with Sign ups from 1-2pm. We will be out early
to work on the track before races today. The track is in good shape and we
will have a very nice day to race today.
TOP OF PAGE 10-27-2007 WORK DAY TODAY
A few of us will be out working on the track today. Since the rain we have
not had much time to work on the track but since we had very little damage
from the rain last weekend there is not much to be fixed.
We are trying to get some fresh dirt to clean up some of the track since
some of our jumps are getting worn down and need reshaping.
TOP OF PAGE 10-26-2007 NOT LONG NOW
We have about 1 month till the GRAND National in Tulsa. If you plan to be
ready to race on Thanksgiving weekend now is the time to get in the
'groove' to be ready. This is the LAST National race of each season and it
is BIG. It won't be long now!
TOP OF PAGE 10-25-2007 DAY OFF
We have plans to be somewhere else tonight so the track will be closed
today and we will be elsewhere working tonight. We plan to be out working
on the track Friday and Saturday. Since we had little damage from our last
rain things should be in good shape for our Sunday race.
TOP OF PAGE (405) 235-3602 Track phone has info on Practice and Races.10-24-2007 NO THURSDAY RACES
We will not be racing on Thursday evenings the remainder of this year since
our lights are not working. The year is winding to an end and we have few
racing dates left for the year. It looks like we will have a few races this
month since our 30 forecast is for dry weather all this month. Maybe we
will be able to finally get off a race on 2 weekends in a row!
TOP OF PAGE 10-23-2007 NO PRACTICE TODAY
We will not Practice today since the track is wet in spots and we have a
very small amount of damage from the rain Monday evening. Most of the area
was dry but we did have some mud holes in the drive and parking.
TOP OF PAGE 10-22-2007 RAIN TODAY
We had more rain today late in the day. As it looks we are really going to
blow away the old record for a year of rainfall in 2007. We have already
passed it by over an inch and we still have about 70 days left this year.
Today we want to be extra THANKFUL for the things we have in our lives
and families. Some time is looks very bleak and there are troubles to deal
with but it is those times we need to look inward and see just how good we
have it and be THANKFUL for all we have!
TOP OF PAGE 10-21-2007 RACE TODAY
We will Race today with Sign ups from 1-2pm. The track is in good shape and
we should have some nice weather. The track is in good shape and we will
have it even better by the time races start today. Now if we can get rid of
grass on the track and the stickers around the track we will be OK!
Thanks to our volunteers who worked their tails off to getthe track ready
for racing today. Volunteers are what makes the track a better place!
TOP OF PAGE 10-20-2007 WORK DAY
Well the track is looking very good now thanks to a lot of helpers who came
out to work on the track today. With most all the track worked on today
except the 1st turn we got things smooth and fast. We will be out early in
the morning to get the 1st turn looking good for a day of racing.
TOP OF PAGE (405) 235-3602 Track phone has info on Practice and Races.10-19-2007 WORK DAY
We did get some work done today and last night as well. We have a huge
amount of grass we have removed from the track now and we will have even
more before the Sunday race. It is beginning to look nice again and that is
a good feeling. Also we lost our power for some time last night. OG&E
got it back on about 8pm.
TOP OF PAGE 10-18-2007 NO RACE TODAY
We will not Race tonight due to damage from the rain Sunday and Wednesday
evenings.
TOP OF PAGE 10-17-2007 RAIN TODAY
We had one heck of a rain storm blow into town today at about 9pm. When the
huge line of storms started to enter the west side of the metro area it had
near 70mph winds and some heavy rain showers. By the time it slid out of to
the east of town it had wound down to a mire rain storm with 30+mph winds.
We did get about half an inch of rain at the track so things did not get
so wet in the long run.

TOP OF PAGE 10-15-2007 RAIN, RAIN, RAIN
Well it is official now, the old record for the amount od total rainfall
for one year has fallen. We still have 75 days left this year and the
record is going to grow before the end of the year. Total so far is over
52 inches and counting. No wonder the track has had tons of dirt added this
year, most has washed away already!
TOP OF PAGE (405) 235-3602 Track phone has info on Practice and Races.10-14-2007 RACE TODAY
We will race today with Sign ups from 1-2pm. Our weather is a BIG QUESTION
today. We have a frontal boundary west of town but it is not moving at 9am.
If this front starts moving it will be cloudy and we will have a chance of
rain today. The real weather forecasters say the rain will be here later
today, we hope they are correct!

If you are wanting to head to Sand Springs today to get in another race we
are going to meet at the HOFFMAN Skate Park at 3:30pm to head up the

a ride or two in before Sign ups open.
TOP OF PAGE 10-12-2007 SAY GOODBYE TO THE STICKERS
Now this time we have had a bagging mower out to the track and a huge
amount has already been mowed and bagged. The stickers are gone for the
rest of this year. It has been a lot of work but we should have most of the
place mowed and cleaned up some time next week. It will be nice to ride
around and not have to pick the pesky things out of our tires.
TOP OF PAGE 10-11-2007 NO THURSDAY RACES
We will not have any more races on Thursday evenings until we have our
track lights repaired. Since it is Fall and the sun is going down at about
7pm now we have no light to race in the evenings. If you know somwone who
would like to help us get the lights repaired please let us know. We need
a lift or bucket truck to get access to the light fixtures and overhead
power lines which were damaged due to vandalism.
IT IS OFFICIAL NOW! Sooner State BMX

We had some rain this morning with the Cold front that moved across the
state early this morning. It cooled things off today and will help keep it
cool for a few days this week. The track is wet today but will be dry enough
to have Practice tomorrow.
TOP OF PAGE 10-07-2007 NO RACE TODAY
We will race not today. At 10am the the track is still wet from the rain
last night. It may be dry enough to race on by race time but we have more
light rain just outside the city. As it looks we will have a cold front
moving into town about time for races to start. The front will trigger more
rain since we have so much moisture across the state.
TOP OF PAGE 10-06-2007 NO RACE TODAY
We will race not today. At 11am the sky is cloudy and we have rain showers
moving across town and more moving toward town. Sorry.
At 2pm the showers had cleared town. As it seems the track was dry and had

At 6pm the rain came back. At 7pm the track was getting light rain and
was still dry enough to ride. At 9pm we still have light rain and it has

will be the first to let you know when this will happen. Things are not
going to change for some time. We are working very hard to get things in
order to start a new track at Trosper Park. It will some time till this
will happen. It is a long process and requires a huge amount of work before
a single shovel full of dirt can be moved.

We will cancel Practice tonight. With a line of heavy storms moving toward

The track did get a lot of work today and still needs more (as usual). We
did get things looking good on most of the track and it looks like we may
be able to race tomorrow if the weather stays nice and the rain stays out
of town till late in the day.
It looks like they are finished building the Skate Park in Midwest City.
There are no lights so the fun is over at sundown. The place has been
a big crowd magnet since the first jump was built. Today there was a huge
crowd at noon. Look for the place at the location of the old Lions Club
swimming pool (which is gone now) about half a mile north of SW 29th and
Midwest Blvd. on the west side of the road.
TOP OF PAGE 09-28-2007 NO TRACK WORK
We had all kinds of work to do today but none was work on the track. Things
ae coooling off and the weather may be nice for the weekend. We would like
to race on Sunday if the weather is nice. We do have rain in the forecast
for Sunday and it looks like we will have to wait till Sunday for a
decision on the weather.
TOP OF PAGE 09-27-2007 CLOSED TODAY
Sooner Pearl will be closed today. We will be having a meeting of the Board
Members about the track tonight so we will not be at the track. The grass
is slowly getting mowed this week and we still have a huge amount of work
to be done getting the weeds back under control.
We have been working to get lots of grass of f the track as well as get it
back in condition to race and use for practice. We will get there this
weekend if we do not get much more rain and we have rain if the forecast
for tonight.
TOP OF PAGE 09-26-2007 THINGS ARE HAPPENING
Still have not heard anything concrete but rumor has it there will be a
BIG ANNOUNCEMENT soon about ABA BMX in Oklahoma. If you do not know it
takes a lot of time and effort to get a new track off the ground. We are
very excited and will have more info soon.
Another thing to take about concerning bikes in the city area. Today there
is another place for kids to go to ride boards or bikes. Midwest City has
almost finished installing their new Skate Park structures. Look for more
info on this soon.
If the weather is nice we will be out working on the track Wednesday
evening. We did get rain yesterday in the morning and then in the afternoon
but there was not that much at the track. We were there last night mowing
since we have the mower operational again.
TOP OF PAGE 09-25-2007 RAIN AND MORE RAIN
We will not have Practice tonight as we have rain moving in from the west
at 4pm. Hopefully the rain will wet the track down a bunch and we can get
it back in shape. We will be working on other things tonight and may go to
the track later before sundown. The weather has cooled a heck of a lot
today with the temp at 4pm is 70° and we are to have low 60's the next few
nights. Pleasant weather to work on the track.
TOP OF PAGE (405) 235-3602 Track phone has info on Practice and Races.09-24-2007 WORK ON EQUIPMENT TODAY
We will not be at the track today so we can work on some of our equipment.
It looks like we will be out working on the track Tuesday evening. We will
not have the entire track ready to ride by Tuesday. We also have a huge
amount of mowing that need to be done along with the weed trimming. We have
rain in the forecast but we have had for 2 days now and still no rain.
Maybe its 3 out of 5 this week?
TOP OF PAGE 09-23-2007 NO RACE TODAY
We may be out working on the track this afternoon. The track is not in
shape for racing and we will cancel today. Most riders are away in Kansas
City for the Redline Cup Final. We hope they all have a safe trip home.
TOP OF PAGE 09-22-2007 CLOSED FOR WEEKEND
Sooner Pearl will be closed for the weekend. We have not worked enough to
get the track in shape for races. We have been a little short handed this
week with most of our volunteers working at the State Fair.
The Redline Cup Final (Central) is tomorrow in Kansas City and there are
many riders who went to attend this race. We would like to say 'GOOD LUCK'
to all the local riders who are attending this race.
TOP OF PAGE 09-21-2007 NO WORK DAY - CONGRATULATIONS
We will not be out working on the track. Things are looking good on the
track, we have worked for the least 3 evenings and removed a lot of grass.
Congratulations goes out to Sean McGillicuddy. Sean has been voted
President of the Board for Yukon Parents and Riders Association. He will do
OK if he just don't forget what his bike is for, because racing is
only half the fun now..........
TOP OF PAGE 09-20-2007 NO RACE - WORK DAY
We will be out working on the track after 6:30pm today.
Due to the current condition of the track we will not RACE tonight.
We did work on the track
yesterday after the rain. Our 1st straight is once again nice and we will
begin working on the 1st turn tonight. Our rain storm this morning wet the
track down and did a small amount of damage. The damage really didn't
matter that much since the track was already rough.
TOP OF PAGE (405) 235-3602 Track phone has info on Practice and Races.09-19-2007 WORK DAY
We will be out working on the track after 6:30pm today. More grass was
removed from the track and we have cleaned up the 1st straight again. Since
we have rain in the forecast we didn't rake on the track just clearing
grass and hoping Mother Nature comes along to water the track for us. Rain
can wet the track in minutes where as we would spend most of a day getting
the entire track wet enough to work.
TOP OF PAGE 09-18-2007 NO PRACTICE-WORK DAY
We will be out working on the track after 6:30pm today. Due to the current
condition of the track we will not have Practice tonight. The 1st straight
is looking very good and we will be working on the 1st turn and on to the
2nd straight. We may be mowing or weed eating as well if a few volunteers
can make it out today.
TOP OF PAGE 09-17-2007 WORK DAY
We will be out working on the track after 6:30pm today. With Summer almost
at an end we will make some changes in our schedule due to the amount of
light we will have in the evenings. The weather will be changing soon and
we will have some cooler days ahead. Time to get those District Points to
finish out the year.
TOP OF PAGE 09-16-2007 CLOSED FOR WEEKEND
Oklahoma State Championship Final TODAY. We hope things go well for Yukon
BMX today. Since this was re-scheduled some riders who had scheduled time
for this race last weekend will not be able to attend today, what a shame.
We want to wish all riders a BIG GOOD LUCK today in your quest to get that
state number plate!
TOP OF PAGE 09-15-2007 CLOSED FOR WEEKEND
We will be closed this weekend so all local riders can attend the Oklahoma
State Championship Final. The weather has taken its toll on a couple of us
and we may not be out to work on the track this weekend. We do have some
warm weather ahead for the weekend unlike what we had for the week which
was more like Autumn than late Summer. Things will be hot for the races
this weekend!
Sooner Pearl BMX is starting a CAN DRIVE. Open to all District OK01 riders.
Bring in 10 pounds of aluminum cans and get a FREE RIBBON race, 20 pounds
gets a TROPHY or SAVER STAMP race. Help us clean up the environment and get
races and District Points for your time and work!
TOP OF PAGE (405) 235-3602 Track phone has info on Practice and Races.09-14-2007 WORK DAY TODAY
We did go out an do a little work today but not much. The re-scheduled
Oklahoma State Championship Final is Sunday and most will be at Yukon today
and this weekend. Since we were not able to get the track in shape for a
race we will not try to race tomorrow as we had kinda planned. Things just
sis not go our way.
TOP OF PAGE 09-13-2007 NO RACE TODAY - WORK DAY
We will cancel our Race tonight since we have not been able to get the
track in shape to race or practice. We will be out tonight to work on the
track after 6:30pm if you would like to come help us. We would like to be
able to race this weekend so we will be working to get things ready. We
will have to see if we will be working tomorrow evening and Saturday, stay
tuned.
TOP OF PAGE 09-12-2007 MOWING TODAY
Most of us were not able to get to the track today to work. However Gary
was lucky enough to get the commercial mower out and do a lot of mowing in
a short time. Since we named our mower 'KILLA' because it is a hard working
nearly unstoppable beast with grass and weeds, we have now named Gary's
machine 'REAPER'. That thing will cut stuff to shreds and don't slow down
for anything except stationary objects. REAPER is a fitting name for that
beast of a machine!
TOP OF PAGE 09-11-2007 NO PRACTICE TODAY
We will cancel Practice tonight due to the damage from the rain Sunday. We
were not able to get out to work on the track yesterday and it was very
wet. Since we could not work yesterday we will be there working tonight but
it may be 6:30 or 7pm till we get there.
TOP OF PAGE 09-10-2007 NO WORK TODAY
Since we got rain early this morning we will not be out working on the
track tonight. The track is to wet to work on at 5pm and so we will cancel
Practice tomorrow and work on the track instead. It looks like we are out
of rain till the weekend and it is supposed to be much cooler this week in
the evenings.
THANKS to those who came out yesterday. We had fun and then we
worked on the track. It was a nice day to be at the track.
TOP OF PAGE (405) 235-3602 Track phone has info on Practice and Races.09-09-2007 RACE TODAY
Sooner Pearl will Race today with Sign ups from 1-2pm. A few of us will be
out working on the track about 10am. Most of the track was in good shape
and just damp enough to work without much watering. There was only minor
damage from the recent rains. It looks like most of the heavy rains missed
our part of town this time. We look forward to seeing you!
If you don't already know the Oklahoma State Championship Final has been
rescheduled to next weekend due to the rain.
TOP OF PAGE 09-08-2007 WORK AND RAIN TODAY
At close inspection about 5pm the track was 90% dry with very little rain
damage. We were lucky this time and have little damage, only in our main
problem spots. We have arranged to get out early Sunday to work out the
rough places and get the track ready to race. We could use your help. It
would be a good time to get to know others at the track and find out what
we do to make a ABA track run. It can really be fun and help everyone.
TOP OF PAGE 09-07-2007 RAIN TODAY
The sky was grey and the cloucs kept coming over some with rain and some
only shortlived shade on a hot and humid summer day. Things are not looking
looking very good if you go by the forecasts. We are in for some heavy rain
, not flooding rain (thank goodness). Some say inches but it still don't
LOOK good and we have had some light rain already today. The weekend may be
a wash of rain. That is not good since there are big races scheduled this
coming weekend.
TOP OF PAGE 09-06-2007 NO RACE TODAY
Sooner Pearl will not Race tonight. We have had some heatlh issues witn
some of our Board Members and will not be able to be at the track tonight.
We are sorry for this and hope everyone understands. We are working to
get things ready to race Sunday if the weather permits.
TOP OF PAGE 09-05-2007 MORE OUTSIDE WORK TODAY
We will not be going to the track again today to work. Part of that is
due to health problems and other things which have to be addressed by our
Board Members. Some of us are sick with the flu and are not able to work
on the track itself. We have been busy with other projects. We have made
some progress on many items this week, but much more work is ahead.
TOP OF PAGE (405) 235-3602 Track phone has info on Practice and Races.09-04-2007 NO PRACTICE TODAY
Sooner Pearl will not have Practice tonight. We have been watching the
local weather radar and it looks like we are about to get a lot of rain
moving into town in the next hour. Rather than chance everyone's safety we
have decided not to invite you out to Practice tonight. We want to say
THANKS to all who came out to races Sunday and also to thank those who
stayed later to help work around the track on the grass!
TOP OF PAGE 09-03-2007 MORE WORK TODAY
It seems there is never a dull moment when you have a BMX track to operate!
Things break and need to be fixed, people work hard (on the track) to see
all their work washed away by the next rain and there is a lot of work
which goes on behind the scenes. Today there was some behind the scenes
work to be done and other things which were repaired. It looks like we have
our mower back ready to knock down more grass and maybe we will have that
machine this week to kick even more grass! Time will tell.
TOP OF PAGE 09-02-2007 RACE TODAY
Sooner Pearl will race today with Sign ups from 1-2pm. There has been a
lot of grass mowed around the track and we may be mowing more today. The
place is starting to look good again. Those who have not gone out of town
for the holiday weekend could have some fun today racing and not get lost
in the grass!
