06-30-2007 MORE RAIN?
The rain did come today but it was very light rain and we actually did get
to see the sun for a change. What a beautiful sunset we had today. Now for
the track, things are not well. The rain has caused a huge amount of damage
and it has been to wet to work. There is a lot of washing damage but the
drainage has been keeping the track from staying underwater.

The announcement has been made Yukon BMX will host the 2007 Oklahoma State
Championship Final. The dates are as follows, check their website for the
most up to date info.

Now if we can get rid of all this rain maybe we could have a race in
Oklahoma! Sooner Pearl will be closed for the weekend. With more than 3
inches of rain falling in the last 24 hours the track is in SAD SHAPE.

scheduled and last word is they are going to cover the track and race as
scheduled.

The rain came again today and it was heavy several times during the day.
Not a pretty site to see roads closed and turning into rivers! Things are
not looking good and they are forecasting even more heavy rain for at least
one more day. In Oklahoma City it is starting to look like monsoon season
and the rain keeps coming down.

There has been some mention of BMX in the 2008 Beijing, China. Now you can
tell all your friends and prove it with video via the NBC web site. NBC
will broadcast the 2008 Olympics and their trailer for the Olympics is at
2008 Trailer.
This is a 3 minute 10 second video with 10 seconds of intense BMX racing
with a note this sport will be introduced in 2008. At 1 minute 25 seconds
on the countdown timer is when the racing and info on BMX start. Now this
will be seen by many and interest may start to build. CHECK IT OUT!

We will cancel Practice tonight due to rain.
The official National Weather Service information shows .91 inches of rain
in the last 24 hours. Many areas in the metro area had much more and 1/3 of
the state is under a Flash Flood Warning. It looks like we may have a
somewhat drier day tomorrow but our forecast is for more rain till next
week. Things are not looking good for racing this coming weekend already.

More clouds and rain was in store for today. Most of the rain stayed away
until the evening. Things are not going to dry out for days and we have
more rain in the forecast. Most of the week is to be wet with several inches
of rain to fall this week. The track is now in bad shape and more rain will
not make things any better. We would like to mow and work on the track but
it has been to wet.

We will cancel our race again today. This was not a good weekend for Sooner
Pearl. We had to cancel our WORK DAY yesterday, why you may ask. Seems the
power was off most of the day Saturday while the crews worked on the power
lines along Western Ave. for the highway relocation. About 5pm the power
was turned back on, just a few minutes before thunderstorms rolled across
the city.

Sorry there has been a change of plans today. We will not be able to have a
WORK DAY today as planned. As it looks we will not RACE Sunday June 24th
since the track is not in shape from all the rain we have had lately.
TOP OF PAGE 06-22-2007 NO RAIN TODAY, SO FAR....
It has been partly cloudy today with no rain to speak of so far. There is a
line of storms south and south east of town but it looks like it will slide
by town and we may have a day off. Well not a day off really since we have
a huge amount of work to be done at the track. We may have a WORK DAY
tomorrow if we don't get rain tonight, we will change this message later
today or early in the morning if we will be out working Saturday. We could
use your help, with your help we may be able to race Sunday.

It started out like many days these last few weeks. Cloudy in the morning
and it looked like rain, then it hit us again. We get about 3/4 inch of
rain in a few minutes today. In the last 36 hours we have had just a little
under 2 inches and it looks like we have more on the way.

More cloudy skies and we had some light showers during the afternoon but
not any heavy rain like just south of here. This year has been a very wet
year by all means and it looks like we will have rain around for a few more
days as well. The track is getting real rough and will take a lot of work
to make it smooth enough to ride, racing is out of the question.

We will not Practice tonight due to the condition of the track. We may be
able to start working on the track Wednesday evening. There is a lot of
damage from all the rain and we will need help getting the track in shape
to use.

We had another day of overcast skies and then the rain came later in the
day. At least it was not hard or heavy rain and it did not rain long.
We will not work on the track tonight and it looks like we may not be out
to work Tuesday evening.

Again we started the day with overcast skies and rain looming. At noon we
have a line of heavy rain heading from the south into town. We will cancel
our race today. If it is not raining Monday evening we may be out to work
on the track (after 6pm) for our Tuesday Practice session.

The day started out cloudy and looking like rain but that did not last long
after noon when it cleared up and things warmed up into the lower 80's. We
did not work on the track today and we did have a very light shower which
moved across town about 11am this morning but not enough rain to do much but
settle down the dust and cool it off for a while.

The day started off dry or should we say without rain. We did have a few
showers move across town during the day but not anything like what we had
yesterday. We did go to the track late this evening and there was still a
little water standing in 2 places on the track. The drainage system did a
good job of draining the water away. Considering we the amount of rain we
have had in the last 2 days things are drained and the track is on it's way
to drying out now.

The day started with heavy rains early this morning and we had much more to
come during the day. Some areas of town have had some flash flooding since
everything is soaked and there is now where for the rain to go except into
the storm drains. We did get over 1 inch at the track during the day and
that has caused major damage to the track surface.

Even though we had a dry day today we will not be working on the track
tonight since the track is just to wet to work on currently. As it looks we
may have rain for the next several days and may not be able to have a race
on Sunday this weekend. We have rain in the forecast every day till Tuesday
of next week.

This last weekend was a great weekend for racing at Sooner Pearl BMX. Again
we would like to say THANK YOU to all who came out for our Race for Life
and our State Qualifier. We are working toward our donation amount and it
will be close to what we want. The Race for Life raised more donations this
year than we have in the past 3 years.

since we were missed by the rain this morning. We have had a cloudy day
which has cooled it slightly but it is still warm. One good thing is we

Sooner Pearl. As we have been saying the construction for the I-40 highway
re-location has begun. Things are changing daily in the corridor for the

What a day to be at the track! We had a bunch of people working very hard
before the race to get the entire track smooth and ready to race. What a
great job they did, THANK YOU! We had (for once) a great day to race with

Several of us will be out to work on the track today, we hope to complete
the track work and get ready to race Sunday. We still have rain in the
forecast for the next several days so we will have to wait till Sunday

No one went to the track to work today since we had rain moving into town
in the evening. We had a few light showers during the day but not enough
to do anything but knock down the dust and cool it off a little. The heavy
rain waited till about 6pm to come around.

We did get some work done today but without your help we did not do much.
Even though we have had some rain this week the areas we have been working
on is still in good shape. The track is looking much better and if the
heavy rain stays away we might be able to race this Sunday on a nice smooth

More rain today but only a few fast moving showers. Most of the day was
cloudy and we had a sprinkle here and there but for the most part it was
dry. The track is mostly dry, the turns are dry. The flat areas are still a
damp. We had a few riders out this weekend so some of the track is rough
from riding in the mud.

NO RACE TODAY. The rain started at 2am this morning and at the time of this
posting it is still raining. Looking at the local radar we have several
more hours of rain still ahead of us. This month is going down in the
record books as the wettest May in Oklahoma City since records have been
kept. Looking at the headlines on the 'net' or the local papers we are not
the only area to get large amounts of rain, there has been flooding in many
states this month and several have died from the flooding.

Another one of those cloudy days and we did get a small amount of rain
and misting rain very early this morning at the track. Not enough rain to
affect the track. By evening the track was dry enough to ride on again but
still not smooth all the way around since we did not work on the track due
to the rain. As far as racing Sunday goes that is still in the air. However
it is not looking good since we have a huge cluster of storms moving north
into the city from central Texas.

NO RAIN TODAY. We made it one day without rain but it did not look good at
all. All day we had clouds but no rain. That made drying slow today but the
track is pretty dry already. It looks like we will be out working tomorrow
to get ready to race Sunday. We will see if we get any rain in the morning
before we head to work on the track.

We had rain at sun up this morning. Parts of town got heavy rain for a
short time and other parts had more. After the heavy rain we did get some
very light rain which got a chance to soak in and make the track muddy.
Later in the day we went out and looked things over, the track had no water
standing on it and most of the rain had drained away. We worked on the last
straight and the finish line area. We do have rain in the forecast for the
entire weekend so we are not sure about racing this weekend.

Things went as planned yesterday and we have a great time at the track. We
did get some work done around the track. We did not work on the track as
we have rain in the forecast for tomorrow. The track looks good to the
second turn and we have worked on the second turn a little as well as the
third straight but neither are finished.

We will have a FREE PRACTICE tonight from 6-8pm. All ABA riders are welcome
to come out. We will be working on the track while you practice. The entire
track may not be smooth but we should be able to get it in shape before we

TOP OF PAGE 05-21-2007 MORE CONSTRUCTION
Things are changing fast now that May 18th has past. May 18th was the day
all work on the temporary overhead lines were to have been moved on the
sides of the track. Well today the crews installed most all the poles and
started to string the new lines. This wet weather has caused the crews to
work after May 18th. The work will be done in another couple days if we can
get a few more rain free days. More construction on the I-40 re-location
project will be near as the utilities are the first items which will have
to move for the project. Below ground work will begin soon.

Many will be hard a work competing in racing today with the RFL at Yukon
BMX today. Some of those who are not racing will be out working on Sooner
Pearl to get the track in shape to race. Things are not looking good for
races this weekend due to the damage from our rains the last couple weeks.
We will be out working on the track today after noon.

This weather has caused some of our volunteers to miss WORK DAYS for many
reasons and today was another one of those days. Cold and flu season is
in the FALL but this year the RAIN we have had has caused a lot of sickness
from allergies and colds.
Don't forget Saturday Yukon BMX will have their annual Race for Life
benefit race. Signs ups are 10-11am, this is a double point race. Also
Sunday will be the second of the Oklahoma State Qualifier races at Yukon
BMX, Sign ups from 10-11:30am. See their web site for the most up to date

TOP OF PAGE 05-17-2007 WORK DAY
Today a few of us will be out working on the track during the day after
noon. It is a long way from getting to a point where the track is smooth
enough to race on and we have a lot of grass to mow all around.
It was a long time coming and there have been a few who have asked about
our State Qualifier race. Our official date (finally) cleared with ABA.
Sunday June 10th is the date, Sign ups 10-11:30am. Look for more info on

TOP OF PAGE 05-16-2007 MORE WORK
It was a productive day of work today. The track is looking a little better
since getting 6 inches of rain dumped on it in a few days. The grass is now
growing faster than ever. Even though it has not rained in a few days the
track is still damp just an inch under the surface. It has been fairly cool
since we had our last rain. Speaking of rain we have rain in the forecast
for tomorrow, a low chance but it is a chance.

Tonight we will cancel Practice. This is the time of year when many are
graduating from school and we will be out to attend a family member who is
finished with High School today. We will be out to work on the track

Hard to believe but we did not have any rain today for a change. It is
getting close to the time of each year when we will have no rain for some
time. All this rain has helped fill our lakes and get us out of a drought
situation. It was nice to see a day we did not get more rain. We have had
about 6 inches of rain just this month alone.

We will not race today. It is one day which we decided to cancel to spent
time with MOM. Go spent time with MOM and have some fun while enjoying this
great weather (while it lasts). To all you Mothers out there, Have a very

you!
TOP OF PAGE 05-12-2007 A DAY WITHOUT RAIN?
It was almost hard to believe but we had a day without rain! The track is
on its way to drying out and we like this kind of weather. The track is
in need of much work but we will not be working today. We have decided to
take a day to work on other things this weekend. This has been a terrible
month as far as weather is concerned. This month Oklahoma has had 14
tornadoes and our total for the year (so far) has been 23.

This afternoon the track was on its way to be nice and dry but the rains
started again at 3:30. We had a hard rain for about 20 minutes which made
things very wet again. We have better weather in the forecast for the
weekend (if the forecast is close to right). We did have a much better
looking drain situation, since the new drain was installed. It looks like
a few of us will be out working this weekend to get the track in shape and
to get more mowing done. This rain has put the plants in overdrive and the
grass has been growing FAST everyday.

Well the cup is full now and we could use some nice weather for a change.
Even though it has been raining most every day the rain has affected most
everything at the track now. Since we put in the new drain most of the
rain we have had this week has already gone down the drain. Some nice dry
weather would let the track dry and we could get it back in shape for our
weekend race on Sunday.

The track has not been dry for many days now and it looks like it will not
break for a few more days if you believe the weather forecasters. Now is
the time of year when they seem to put rain in every day just to be safe.
They have been right to do so this week! All this rain has been good for
most everything but the track. We did get a new drain installed last night
so we have a better chance of draining the track since back before I have
been around Sooner Pearl. As the last shovel full of dirt was put back in
the ditch it started to rain!

shape and will need quite a bit of work before we can race this Sunday.

The rain just seemed to keep coming and coming all day. Looks like we have
had near 3 inches of rain in the last 24 hours and the forecast has more
rain till Friday. The track is wet and we have a lot of water standing all
around the track. We did get some mowing done today and we will be out
tomorrow working if it is not raining.

We will cancel our race for today. We do this for safety since we have a
very ugly line of storms headed toward the city. It is better to be safe
and not chance it. Considering the weather we have had in Oklahoma, Kansas
and further north the last few days. With 80+ tornadoes of which more than
half came down from the sky in Oklahoma or Kansas. These storms are not
something you want to be around without shelter avaliable.

While we where out working on the track today we did get some very light
rain. Just enough to pack the track without having to water forever. It was
a nice reminder that Mother Nature can help on some days. The track looks
very good and we have a lot of mowing to be done now.

Things really dried in a hurry today and by evening most of the track was
dry emough we would have to water before we did any work. All this rain has
made the grass grow fast, we will have to work hard to keep on top of this
stuff if the rain continues to come every few days.

We did have some light rain over night at the track but things are already
starting to dry out. A couple riders wanted to ride on the wet track so we
now have a few places we will have to work on the track to get it back in
shape for racing. After the rain the track looked very good.

We will cancel Practice today due to the rain. We have not had much rain at

For those who really care we will be out workng on the track today most all
day. With the rain we had Friday morning came a bunch of muddy track and

So the rain came today and for once it was a good rain. The track did get a
little muddy but we were out working on it this evening. Looks like things
are on track to have a good Sunday race this weekend. We have been looking
to get things going and it seems we have connected.

Since we had the train a couple days ago the track has dried nicely and we
were out working on it tonight. The only area we did not work on last
Sunday was the focus of our attention today. We did have to water the turn
before we worked on it as it had already dried out on the surface. Now it
is in much better shape and much smoother than it has been for some time.

The rain has put on hold any work on the track today. Most of the track is
still to wet to work today so we will not be out to work tonight. The
weather is supposed to clear up and warm up in the next couple days then we
have rain on the table for Friday. Since the track will be dry if it rains
Friday we will be able to race on Sunday. Our track should be in good shape
even if we have an inch of rain of Friday.

Once again we have had rain moving around town and the track is wet. We
will cancel our Practice session for today. Make sure and remember you can
now practice at Sooner Pearl on Tuesday evenings. Practice will be 6-8pm

more work we will have it in great shape.

With all the work this last weekend most of the track is now in good shape.
Since we did nothing to the second turn (yet) the entire track is not so
bad. Most everything was watered and hand raked then packed. We just can't
thanks enough to those who helped. It sure made a big difference to the
track!

to work on the track today before our race, we could use your help. The
rain did not make it to town early this morning so the track is dry. It
will be nice today after the clouds move off this morning but we have rain
in the forecast for most of the coming week.

A few of us will be out working on the track today after 2pm. We have a
couple flat tires on the 4 wheeler that need to be fixed before we head to

Once again the weather was nice today with no rain but we had wind. More
wind than we wanted and hats had to be held on today. It was a gusty day
with some gusts grabbing hats and other items that were not tied to
something heavy. We did go to the track for a few minutes but did very
little work.

We have had another nice day today and the track is ready to have some work
to get it back is shape to ride. We will be there after 6pm working if you

We had a great weather day today and the track did a lot of drying and is
almost dry. Since we did work Sunday the little rain we did have was not
enough to do any real damage to what we had just worked on. If we have

We have more rain in the forecast today and the sky is cloudy. It looks
like the rain will arrive around noon to 1 o'clock this afternoon then more
heavier rain a couple hours later. If things don't get to wet a few of us
may be out working on the track later this evening. Things are looking very
good now and with our new volunteers we will have the place nice with a few
more WORK DAYS like last Sunday.

What a GREAT DAY we had at the track yesterday, the weather was very nice.
We had a few volunteers out who helped to get a huge part of the track both
mowed and all the weeds knocked down. The place looks very different after
a good mowing job. We did work on the track some but most of it was to wet
to do much so a majority of the work was around the track. THANKS to all
our kind volunteers for all their help!

It started in the 30's this morning and at 5pm it had made it all the way
to 55° but the skies are still overcast. In a few hours we will have clear
skies and the temp is going to fall like a rock tonight, They did take the
possibility of snow or rain out of the forecast for tonight. Still it does
not look good for Sunday. The track is still very wet and without the sun
we will not have much drying.

The day started with rain, about 4am we were awakened by lightining and the
sound of thunder. The heavy rain didn't start till later in the day. We will
not be out working on the track today due to the rain. Our forecast is for
clearing skies Saturday but it don't look like the track will have enough
time to dry to race Sunday, we will keep an eye on the track and post about
Sunday racing on Sunday morning.

It was finished today, the mowing of the track that is. Now we get to start
mowing about 10-15 acres of grass around the track and between the track
and Western Avenue. The grass mowing should take about a week to week and a
half if the weather stays nice. We have rain and snow in the forecast for
weekend so we may not be working or racing this weekend.

There has been work at the track most of this week. All the work has been
to start mowing the area around the track. We have mowed the front of the
property and have been working on getting the track clear of grass and the
turns and jumps mowed. We should have the track finished tomorrow if the

with Disney Sports Attractions to host National bicycle motocross (BMX)
race events. The events will be held at Disney’s Wide World of
Sports® complex in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. The first event, the
Fall Nationals will be held October 25-28, 2007 and is just the first of
several events planned for the Disney Sports complex.

It was not a pretty sight but thats what happens some days. The weather was
cool again today and it was cloudy and overcast all day, just looked like
rain but it never came. We still had that bitter north wind again but
things are supposed to change tomorrow. More rain in the forecast now with
chances half of the days this week for rain, at least (maybe) it will warm
up again.

Sooner Pearl will not race today. Due to the cold weather and the fact we
have a chance of rain/snow today. Have a Happy Easter holiday and be safe.
During the next week we will be working to repair our lighting to return

Our skies were beautiful today but is was very cold again today. Our high
was only 45° today, with the wind it was very cold outside. Since we did
not work on the track today due to the weather we will not race Sunday. It
is a holiday and a family holiday. Our weather will not be better tomorrow.
We are working to get the lights repaired so we can have night sessions
again. As always these things take time.

OK..OK, so we didn’t get rain yesterday. Actually we did get snow,
it was light snow. So light the ground was not wet or even damp but it got
cold again. With the wind came an outstanding north wind. A wind you did
not want to be out standing in! Just another day in our crazy weather. We
did not work on the track today due to the cold weather.

After one day of good weather it looks like we are to have several nice and
dry days of weather. We could not have asked for much nicer than today
which saw a high in the 80's and some clouds but no rain. Looks like it may
be dry until next week, that is a good thing for us.

All the rain has caused some real damage to the track. We did manage to
keep the water off the track but it was close. All we needed was a little
more rain and some parts of the track would have been underwater. It looks
like it is time for some heavy construction equipment will be needed to get
some of our drainage problems under control.

We did have a tiny rain early this morning but for the most part it is over
and we have clearing skies and no rain till Monday. We will cancel our WORK

today it is hard rain. At 4pm the track was still getting rain and most of
the infield was under water. Lake Sooner Pearl made an appearance today
and it will be around till it quits raining hard. So it looks like we will
cancel our WORK DAY for Saturday due to rain. We have had over 2 inches of
rain so far and we have more coming tonight.

It has been raining for most of the day today. At 6pm we have had .9 inches
of rain in town and it is still raining. Looks like we have had about 5
tornadoes so far but most have been in rural areas. The areas hit were hit
hard and they have major damage.
It looks like we have more rain headed this way for tomorrow and possibly
Saturday. Forecasts are for up to 2.5 inches through tomorrow. There will
be major damage at the track from this rain.

Later today we will be out mowing around the track. It has been warm enough
for the grass to start growing so we will attempt to keep it mowed. Lots of

Early this morning we did get some rain and it is back to the wet track
conditions we had a few days ago. It looks like we may get a break from the
rain for a couple days then we may get more rain around Thursday or Friday.

determined if we will race Sunday.

We did race yesterday and the track was in good shape and dry. Things are
starting to look good and we now have more rain ahead. It looks as if we
will be getting more rain today and tomorrow so the track will be wet for
a few days. One good thing about the rain is it has been coming down very
slow so the track has not had much damage yet.

The track dried out nicely today but it looked bad for a while early this
morning. At about 7am we have a line of storms headed for the city but it
slipped north of town and we missed out on any real rain. If we don't get
more rain we will race tomorrow. Our message will change around 8am in the
morning but things look good at 10pm.

Early this morning we did get some rain and it was heavy rain but flew
through town at about 50mph. We had a little standing water but the track
did very well and we had very little damage. Looks like we may have more
rain on the way again early tomorrow morning and it looks bad. We may have
to cancel our Sunday race if we get more rain.

The rain missed us again today but the wind was back in force. Late in the
day we did have rain moving toward the city area but it looks like it won't
be here till after midnight. We may have some brief hard rain but this line
is moving at 50mph so it won't last long. If we don't get more rain before
Sunday we may be able to race this weekend.

Well this is getting a little old already. It was cloudy today...
The rain was no where to be found but the wind was here with a vengence. It
was so windy there was not a flag in the state which was not standing out
straight all day. The dust was bad in places where there is bare dry dirt,
it was windy today and they say it will be more of the same tomorrow.

With rain on the table for the entire week we have been able to dodge the

it was only a few minutes and very light, not even enough to settle the
dust. Now it is time for things to come together for racing and having

It was nice to get the year started yesterday. We had some great weather
and the track was in top shape for our first race of the year. Nothing makes
a good race better than having new riders who came to race for their first

Once again rain has spoiled another weekend for Sooner Pearl. The track is
very wet since we had over 1 inch of rain. There was not much damage from

Very early this morning we had some rain. It sounded loud and rough but
it was just a front moving through with very little rain and a lot of
noise with high winds for a few minutes. Things hardly got wet and it looks
like we will be OK for today as far as the rain goes. Now we have to make
through to Sunday races without much more rain.

Even though the weather has been nice for the last few days we still have a
chance for rain later today and tomorrow along with chances for Saturday
and Sunday. We could not ask for better weather this week and we hope that
will the case for the weekend. The track is dry and packed now. We will
need to sweep and water for racing Sunday but the track looks great now.

Our weather has been just down right great this week. Not to cool and very
little wind has made the week a nice one in deed. We hope this is the case
for our upcoming weekend. We would like to get racing kicked off here since
we have not been able to race yet this year for many reeasons. Most of the
canceled races has been due to Mother Nature although we have had our share
od equipment problems as well. We hope this will turn around this weekend.
TOP OF PAGE 03-06-2007 NICE WEATHER THIS WEEK
With all the bad weather we have had so far this year things are very nice
this week. Today was a little cloudy but nice and warm with a little wind.
Our weather forecast has a chance of rain for Thursday, Friday, Saturday
and Sunday. Only a small chance of rain so we will have to wait to see
but the chance is low and maybe Mother Nature will be nice to us this
weekend.

After many things have caused us to cancel races for many weeks it looks
like we are going to be able to race on Sunday if the weather permits. It
has been a bad year to get things started at Sooner Pearl. Mother Nature
has caused us to cancel most every week this year with technical problems
causing cancellation of the last 2 weekends. Now we are finally on the road
to getting off our first race of the year.

Bad luck must be working against us, we will have to cancel again today.
We were unable to get the track packed for racing today. We are working to
get our lights functioning again this week and hope to have the track
ready for night practices and racing after March 12th. We are looking for
some dirt to repair the track if you know someone who has dirt they want to
give us let us know. Use the email link at the bottom of the page if you

What a story we have for this domain name. Seems years ago we purchased
this domain as well as okbmx.com for Sooner Pearl BMX Raceway. The original
domain is okbmx.com and this is our main domain. The soonerpearlbmx.com
domain is a name only and 'points' to the Sooner Pearl portion of okbmx.com.
About this time last year we contacted our hosting company to make sure
both domains would work for another year as we use a yearly service. For
some reason the soonpearlbmx.com name was allowed to expire. Looks as though
it has not worked since April of 2006. Now after a few calls and emails we
have this corrected. If you wish to enter the Sooner Pearl section of
okbmx.com now you can enter using soonerpearlbmx.com.

In the past few days there has been a number of problems with our web site.
Must of you have not had or seen what has been changing but there were a
few times you may have gotten an error or been sent to a different page
than you thought you clicked on. We hope this has all been corrected now
and things will settle down at okbmx.com. There will be some changes in the
next few weeks so watch for announcements as we add items to the site.
TOP OF PAGE 03-01-2007 COOLER WEATHER HAS ARRIVED
Things got a lot cooler today with a strong north wind and a drop of about
30 degrees for our high today. The good thing is we have a forecast of
warmer weather for the weekend and the rain just missed us by miles. We
were missed by the weather but it hit many places north and east of
Oklahoma City real hard. Time will tell what happens but that was a bad
weather front moving through here.

It looked like we could get rain in the very early morning but things
cleared out just before noon and the day was nice with a moderate wind.
We do have a cold snap ahead but the weekend still looks good.
A few of us will be out working on the track Saturday afternoon. Things
should look better late in the day. Most of our work will be packing the
track as most everything is smooth. Water, pack.....

Now it looks as if we will have decent weather for the weekend. We still
have a chance for rain tomorrow. If the wind keeps up we would have to get
of a half inch of rain to make us look at the weekend race. The track is
still in need of some packing before we race again but we should be able to
get things in shape for Sunday.

1. We are sorry for the canceling of races Sunday. As said yesterday we had
a problem with our water well plumbing. Since we could not water the track
to pack it we canceled for safety reasons.
2. The well has been repaired.
3. Thanks to all who contacted the track about racing Sunday. We plan to
get this started next weekend if Mother Nature is fair and we have good
weather.
4. (Just for grins) Keep an eye out because we will have a Rider Clinic in
the near future.

It seems like a broken record, NO RACE TODAY. While working on the track
Saturday afternoon we had some mechanical problems and we were not able to
finish prepping the track for racing today. We will be out working on our
newest problem tomorrow. We hope the weather is better than Saturday as the
wind was terrible, it was down right cool about sundown with the wind just
cutting through.

We will be out working on the track today after noon. Our plan is to race
tomorrow afternoon and get the racing started here for 2007.
This morning it looks as though the rain has come and gone for the day. We
did get rain late last night and early this morning but very light rain.

It is now Friday evening. We have had some rain today and now we have more
to arrive about midnight. What we have had so far tonight was light rain
which would be nice for the track, we wouldn't have to water as much. Now
as for working on the track tomorrow it looks like a long night and then we
will wait to see how much rain we get later. Some of us will be there come
rain or shine, if it is to wet to work on the track we may be working on
lights and a couple other things around the track.

If the wind was a little slower this would have been a great day, it was
really nice today. Even though we have had some real nice weather the
weekend is starting o look like rain. Now we have rain forecast for the
day Saturday and overnight with clearing on Sunday. We will be out to work
Saturday if we don't get much rain. It is not looking good.

So the track is bone dry today and some of it is so dry we are seeing some
cracking. When it is cracking it is dry which is something we don't usually
this time of the year. That might mean we will have a lot of rain ahead.
Daily high temperature doesn't matter much if things are wet and we have
the early rainy season at hand. This year is looking like 2 years ago when
didn't race much till the middle of April due to wet conditions.

We had much better weather today and things are forcast to get better till
next week now, of course that will change at least once before the weekend
but that is weather in Oklahoma. It was nice and warm today with some high
winds this morning. If it was not nailed down it was blown north a few feet
today. The hign winds camled down later in the day so it wasn't that bad in
the end.

After a nice day today the track is totally dry. Yesterday the 2nd turn was
still very wet since it don't get much sunlight during this time of the
year and most everything needed to be packed. We did a bunch of packing 8
days ago so the track was smooth before our last little bout of falling
moisture last week.

We will not race today due to wet track conditions. It is just to wet again
today for racing and will not dry enough to do much work. Some of us MAY be
out at the track later in the day to check on things and see what the track
looks like. Since we did much packing last Sunday most of the track is still
smooth and we did not have much damage from the moisture this week. Our
weather is looking good for next weekend.
TOP OF PAGE 02-17-2007 SOMEWHAT NICE DAY
It was much warmer today but the winds stayed around and will be here again
tomorrow. The strong winds did more drying today but still not enough to
allow us to race Sunday. It looks like some of us MAY go to the track
Sunday to check things out and possibly work on the track but it is still
very wet in most places. If we do go to the track it will be later in the
day around 3pm.

Our light snow job was melting today since we bearly made it above freezing
but it was melting. We had some hard winds today which made it feel colder
and you had to hold on to your hat today. The track did a very little bit
of drying today but is still very muddy in most places. It is not looking
good for racing this weekend.

We had light snow late last night and overnight after the temps moved below
freezing yesterday. We may have more today and things are cold today here.
With a high temp of 25° we will not have much drying today at the track but
we should have clearing skies today and about 45° for a high tomorrow.
Since we have had very little moisture things should start drying out after
we move above freezing.

Its Valentines Day and it will be cold today and colder tomorrow. We have
had very light snow flurries intermittently during the daylight hours. With
cloudy skies and falling temps it is WINTER again here in Oklahoma
keeping our fingers crossed for no moisture this weekend and warmer weather.
It looks like we may have warmer temps and no moisture for the week ahead
and maybe nice weather for next weekend. This is the longest Sooner Pearl
has not raced at the beginning of the year for as long as we can remember.

Rain moved in today and we have no better weather ahead with dropping temps
and more Winter weather ahead. After spending most of the day Sunday
working on the track for races Sunday all that work was slowly washed away
today. With the dropping temps we are forecast to have more snow and/or ice
Wednesday and Thursday so things are not looking good for the rest of the
week.

After a somewhat nice day yesterday the weather is again going downhill
with moderate winds and cooler temps today. Things are not looking good for
the week ahead as we have more snow and ice in the forecast for mid week.
It is looking better for the weekend ahead with 50's for both Saturday and
Sunday but if our weather forecast is even near close it is doubtful we
will have enough nice weather for the track to dry again before next weekend.
