06-30-2006 WORK DAY/PRACTICE TODAY
Once again we had a great night at the track last night. Much work was done
and the track is looking very good now. Most of our work was focused on the
2nd straight so now it looks very good with just a little grass left to
remove. With all the turns in great shape and half the straights in great
shape the track is getting faster and smoother. Since we now have our 4
wheeler back in service we have been able to pack and smooth areas which
have not seen much attention this year.

The track will be open tonight after 6:30pm. We will be out working on the
track tonight. We will have the gate equipment at the track but will not
race tonight. We still have a few rough places on the track and we will be
working there tonight. In the last week the track has become much more
smooth and fast. Once we get everything smoothed out the track will be very
fast as we now have our 4 wheeler back. Now if we can get more dirt to work
with for the track we may start working on the 2nd straight soon.
TOP OF PAGE 06-28-2006 MORE WORK TO BE DONE
The never ending story about a BMX track is work, work, work and we have our
hands full of work to be done both on the track and around the track. We
have been out working on the track and it is looking great where we have
worked and should be looking much better shortly. We have been attacking
grass on the track and much has already been removed although we have much
more to remove. This as well should be finished in the next couple weeks.

The track will be open for Practice tonight from 6:30-8:30pm. The weather
forecast shows cool for the evening and this will be a great night to come
out to get in some practice. We will be working on the track again tonight
so the track will be looking better after we leave for the evening. Be sure
to check out our Thursday evening event this week as well and again we
will have some cooler temps for Thursday evening.

Again this week we will have a WORK DAY on Thursday evening. We will have
to talk to our Chef to see about the FREE FOOD offer this week but we will
be out working on the track. As the summer gets started and things start to
heat up we have a few suprises in store for riders who come out to race at
Sooner Pearl, the only way you will find out about these will be to attend
events at our track. We may have a little sneak info on some but most will
be un-announced.

Sooner Pearl will race today with Sign ups from 1-2pm. We should be able to
race today as all the rain is now west and south of the city. The track
is looking good and today will be a great day to be at the track. We will
be handing out the Race for Life envelopes for those who would like to help
raise money for this race.

As it looks things are going to change at Sooner Pearl very soon. It seems
there has been a big push to get a few things done which are going to make
a big difference in the track. With all the work which has been done lately
and a few things planned for the near future riders will be happy to be out
racing at Sooner Pearl. We have a few changes planned for the track lay-out
and in other places which will soon be done. These changes will be
noticable to riders and specators as well.
TOP OF PAGE 06-23-2006 OUR WORK DAY YESTERDAY
Thursday was our WORK DAY for the track and those who made it out had a
great time working and eating the FREE FOOD we had prepared for the
evening. It was more fun than expected and we really did get some work done
on the track. Our turns are now in good shape and the 1st straight is very
smooth and really fast. Our next work will be getting the 2nd straight back
in shape and getting our pesky grass off the track. We have been working on
the grass as well, we have much dead grass to be cleaned off the track.

We will have a WORK DAY tonight from 6:30-8:30pm. The track still (always)
needs work and we will be out working tonight.
We invite everyone who would like to help on a WORK DAY
from 6:30 until ????. Those who come out and help work on the track will be
treated to FREE Hot Dogs, Hamburgers and drinks. This will be a good time
to get some gate practice and help us work on the track. Who knows what
else may happen.

The track is looking good now but we still have more work to be done and
we hope to see many out working tomorrow evening. We will have food and

We will have Practice tonight from 6:30-8:30pm. We did get most of the
of the real rough stuff cleaned up on the track so we could practice
tonight. The 1st and 3rd turns have been completely raked and look great
, we will be out working on the 2nd turn tonight and get things in shape to
race this weekend.

We got a bunch of work done last night and the track is starting to be
smooth again. With more work we should have it in great shape by the
weekend. This next weekend may be a real HOT weekend of racing here in
OK01. Things are changing as we speak and you will be looking at some great
work done on both track this week and next week. See you at the track!
TOP OF PAGE 06-18-2006 NO RACE TODAY/FATHERS DAY
Sooner Pearl will not Race today as the track is to rough to ride on after
the rain yesterday. The turns took a beating from the rain and we will need
to do some work on them before we will be able to ride the track safely. We
did have a couple places wash out but those places can be repaired easily.
Or main concern is the turns and the big jumps did wash out some but not bad.
Today is Fathers Day, Happy Fathers Day to you BMX Dads. Since we were
unable to race today we will reschedule our Fathers Day race on another
date. Keep your eyes open for more info on this special race.
TOP OF PAGE 06-17-2006 WORK DAY
Well we have some heavy rain early this morning as it stands we have had
a little over 1-3/4 inches so far this morning. At 5pm the track was
still wet in a few places, the rain did wash the turns and they are rough
now. We may have more rain this evening. A couple of us did get some work
done around the track today. The track itself was to wet to work on today.
We did have a big puddle in the infield area as our central drain is still
not working very well. None of the track was under water and we had no
standing water on the track today.

It is Friday and again no one called for a Clinic this week. It looks like
riders have decided to not attend any Clinics lately and we may just stop
trying to have them for a while. We have more rain in the forecast for
tomorrow and we could use more rain except on the track. The grass is
starting to get dry and the track is starting to crack from being dry as
well.

Sooner Pearl will be closed today and we will not Race today. We will be
having a Work Day on Saturday June 17th starting at noon. We will be out
working on the track that day and we could use your help getting the track
back into great shape.
Sunday June 18th is Fathers Day and all Fathers who are ABA member can race
FREE that day. We invite all Fathers out to race and have some fun on
Sunday (weather permitting). We do have rain in the forecast so please call

It won't be long now till the full heat of Summer is here and things will
be hot and dry for a couple months. ABA members need to continue to work on
their riding skills as we have more BIG races just around the corner in
Oklahoma and Nationals which are close. Now is the time to be out riding
and working hard to prepare for the State Qualifiers next month at Sooner
Pearl BMX and Sand Springs BMX. There will be 2 more Race for Life races
this year, the State Championship Final and the Central Redline Cup Final
which will wrap up Multi point races for this season at the local tracks.

Sooner Pearl will be open today for Practice from 6:30-8:30pm. We have
started to work on the track as it has not seen much work for about a
month now. With all the rain we have had the track is in good shape with
some loose material in the turns. We could use more rain to help keep the
track damp so we can work without watering and it looks as if we may have
more rain before the weekend. We do need more rain though and we are sure
the plants would like a little watering as well.

Today marks the start of the Oklahoma State Championship Series. With the
race at Yukon BMX today, Sign ups from 10-11:30am the whole Series gets
kicked off and starts a weekend of Multi point races. After the State
Qualifier at Yukon we have a Race for Life at Sand Springs BMX with
Sign ups from 5 - 6:30pm. The weekend ends on Sunday with one of the
biggest races of any season the Redline Cup Qualifier again at Sand Springs
with Sign ups from 11 - 12:30pm. That is 2 Double point and 1 Triple point

Sooner Pearl will be closed today so riders can attend the Redline Cup
Qualifier at Sand Springs BMX today. If you want to race the Redline Cup
Final this season this will be the closest Qualifier and only Qualifier in
Oklahoma this year. In order to race the Final you MUST race and qualify
for the MAIN in at least 1 qualifier. If for some reason you are not able
to attend the race in Sand Springs today there are other Qualifiers in
other states which you can attend. Check the ABA website for a schedule of
these important races.

It seems there was a misunderstanding about Thursday evening races at
Sooner Pearl last night, we want to get this straight with everyone. Riders
who did show up were unable to race as we did not have enough riders to
race Thursday (below our required 10 riders). Thursday evening races are
not unusual at Sooner Pearl as we had stopped Thursday races during the
beginning of 2006. Now Sooner Pearl is back to our REGULAR race schedule
which we had before 2006. Some riders have not raced at Sooner Pearl during
the early part of the year since we stopped our Thursday races.

Time to start racing again on Thursday evenings at Sooner Pearl. Sign ups
from 6-7pm tonight. This will be your last chance to race before the big
weekend of racing next weekend, now is the time to get more track time and
be just a little more prepared to race the 1st State Qualifier on Saturday.
We should have some great late Spring weather for both days of races and
we want riders to come out and have a good time getting the State Championship
Series started for 2006.

It was a real shame for you to miss Practice last night as we had a great
time and the riders who did show up did a lot of work on the track
yesterday. With the State Championship Series starting next Saturday last
night was our last somewhat cool night this week to Practice before the
BIG race. As said we had lots of fun and the riders were tired when everyone
left for the evening. Thanks to all who came out and to those who helped
last night.
Sooner Pearl will be closed Sunday June, 11 so the local riders can focus
on the races coming this weekend. GOOD LUCK this weekend!

It is Tuesday and time for Practice at Sooner Pearl. The track will be open
for Practice from 6:30-8:30 tonight. Some of us will be out working as
usual and all the work is showing now as the whole area and track is
beginning to look good now. Don't forget your last chance to race in town
before the weekend kicks off is Thursday evening at Sooner Pearl. As before
our Sign up times are 6-7pm on Thursdays, we will be closed Sunday so all
the local riders have a chance to race the races this weekend. As it looks
now this weekend will be very hot so be sure and keep those riders in the
shade and make sure they have plenty to drink! GOOD LUCK this weekend!
TOP OF PAGE 06-05-2006 MORE HEAT WITH NO RAIN
This morning Mother Nature woke many to the sound of thunder but as many
times before we were missed by the rain here in the city. It was nice till
after noon then the heat kicked in and it was HOT! We will have more of
that the rest of the week and into next week. We should have some HOT dry
weather for the weekend of racing coming up. Sooner Pearl will be closed
Sunday June 11th. We want to wish everyone GOOD LUCK in racing next

Sooner Pearl will be open to race today with Sign ups from 1-2pm. The track
is dry but a little rough from the last rain. Today we will have great
weather for racing with a little wind and a high temp near 88. The next
weekend will kick off The State Championship Series and Sand Springs
BMX will have the only Redline Cup Qualifier in Oklahoma. Now is the time
to get ready for these races. Only one more chance to race at Sooner Pearl
before these races which is next Thursday evening.

We have had some hard rain lately but the track is in good shape considering
our rain last Thursday afternoon. The turns are fairly smooth and the rest
of the track is good for riding or racing. In the next week we will be out
working on the track to get things back to the real smooth condition we
want it to have. Before to long it will be really dry and working on the
track will require much watering to start working of any sort. Once things
dry out for the summer little work will be required to maintain the track
in great riding shape. We will be having a few WORK DAYS in the next weeks

The phone never rang so we will not have a Clinic tonight. Riders interested
in taking a BMX Clinic should let Dennison know before Friday so he can
schedule his next Clinic. With BIG races coming soon now is a good time to
get track time and hone those riders skills with a Clinic.

After changing the message here and on the phone last last night Mother
Nature decided we were not to race today. We got more rain at about 2pm
this afternoon and the track is now to wet to ride on today. Things looked
good and the track will be dried out to have a Clinic tomorrow if we don't
get any more rain today. As it looks we will not be getting any more for
today and things should be dried enough to ride tomorrow. You should call
Dennison now if you want to attend a Clinic tomorrow.

It was a rough morning with heavy rain over most of the city area. With
1.82 inches falling just miles from the track is was nice to see the track
nearly dry at 8pm today. There was still standing water in the drive but
not on the track. We did however have a couple riders who did find a damp
spot in the 1st. straight even then the track is in good shape.

Sooner Pearl will start opening on Thursday evenings again and it looks as
if we will be racing on Thursdays. Since the rider count has been so low on
Sundays we may stop racing on the weekends and race on Thursdays instead.
We will wait to see what happens before we make any decisions on our
Sunday races.

all ABA members. The track is in good shape and we will be out working on

A real dead night at the track with only 1 rider coming out to Practice
last night. Our riders have little time to get ready for the upcoming
races during June and July here in Oklahoma. Don't let these races sneek
up on you or you may not like what happens.

The track is in good shape with some loose material but very smooth and
ready for you to come out and Practice tonight. We will be out working
around the track this evening during practice and we could use your help.
If you are interested in helping just let someone in the tower know and we
can line you out on a task. Remember without volunteer help our track
would not be in as good as it is now.

Thursday evening at Sooner Pearl will begin June 1st. We want to invite
all our riders out on Thursday along with Tuesday and Sunday. Tuesday will
be our Regular Practice night, Sunday a regular race day.
The track will be open for Practice Tuesday evening. The track is in good
shape however we do have some loose material in places. We also have
grass both on and off the track. The grass on the track will be sprayed
soon and we will post notice before we spray here and on the message
machine at the track phone.

We will not Race today.
We will have to cancel for today but hope to be open on Tuesday evening.
We are sorry for not racing today and hope to see everyone Tuesday. Well
after the day is over we did not get any rain and we had some great weather
today. We did get more mowing done today but again lost a belt and this
time it had to be replaced so we didn't get as much mowing done as we
wanted.

It looked like a bomb hit but it was only dust from the mower, good thing
we had some nice wind today. The ground is so dry and so is the grass. We
did get some mowing and weed eating done today. Now we have thrown a
belt on the mower and it will be worked on tomorrow to fix the belt problem.
There is a lot of mowing to be done and we could use your help, we will
post a message here soon about another WORK DAY at the track.

The track will not have a Clinic tonight. Dennison Smith has an injury and
will not be able to ride or have a Clinic for a few days until he has
had time to recuperate. Seems Dennison took a spill last Sunday. Nothing is
broken just a few muscles pulled in his shoulder. We will be out working on
on the track Saturday after noon and we could use your help. It will not be
cold or rainy tomorrow and we will be working on several items around the
track.
TOP OF PAGE 05-18-2006 MOW MOW MOW - AGAIN
Seems like this is a busy time around the track. The time needed to get the
entire track area mowed since the grass has kicked into high gear now.
Things are looking better now and we plan to have everything mowed by next
week so we can start mowing again. The place is nice and green and looking
good now and we want to keep it that way.

Seems the riders did not want to come out and play last night as we only
had a handful of riders come out for Practice. Really to bad as it was a
very nice evening and could have been a great time to get in some track
time. Once again it seems the riders have not been coming to either track
and the tracks need riders and parent to survive. With the crazy weather
we have had for the last 2 years many times when the weather was great
there has been very light rider counts. If you have not been coming out and
would like to talk about your reasons so we can correct them let us talk.

The track will be open for Practice tonight from 6:30-8:30pm. Things are
starting to heat up here and we have had a few old riders who are coming
out to the track wanting to get back into racing. We look forward to
seeing them out tonight to get time on the track and to begin their BMX
careers again. How many will show up tonight, Seems we have been talking to
many and some have already came out to restart. We will be seeing more as
the weeks go by.

No we didn't have a herd of cattle at the track it was the other kind with
a lawn mower instead. The grass has turned on the afterburner since we have
been getting rain and things are starting to grow faster than we can keep
the green stuff mowed. We could always use some help so if you would like
to help keep things looking great come out and we can find you a job. As
you may know we ALWAYS need HELP in one way or another and your help would
be greatly appreciated.

Happy Mothers Day. Today is a day to remember Mother and all she has done
for us. Sooner Pearl will race today with Sign ups from 1-2pm. We will

everyone could have a good time at the track.

The day was nice and cool for a weekend day, it seems we have had some
warm and stormy weekend days so today was a nice change. It won't be long
till we will be wishing for a day like today as it will be hot and dry very
soon. We do have rain in the forecast for the days ahead but a very little
20% for next Saturday. It looks like we will have a nice week in store for
spending time out at the track. We look forward to seeing you there.

It is Friday and we will have a Rider Clinic tonight from 6-8pm, a $15 fee
for each rider applies. We will be out working on the track tonight during
the clinic and we could use your help. The track is dry and is not in bad
shape but we want to get it into top shape before any more rain makes it
to town. Today we a slight chance of rain next Thursday and Friday so it
is possible we will race Sunday and have practice next Tuesday evening as
well. And YES we will be racing Sunday with Sign ups from 1-2pm.
TOP OF PAGE 05-11-2006 NICE DAY TODAY
The track is dry and in good shape for riding. We will have a
WORK DAY/Clinic tomorrow and we want you to come out and help work on the
track. With all the rain we have had lately the track does need some work
but we will mainly work on getting it smoother and packed for the next
rainy day. There are a few places which need some attention but the track
is in good shape considering all the rain we have had in the last 2 weeks.

A couple of us will be out mowing tonight around the track. With all the
rain we have had a sudden spark in growing grass and we want to try to
stay a little ahead of the grass this summer. We have already mowed some
places and we should have most of the track land mowed by the end of next
week and we want to stay ahead of the grass this year o we don't have a
grass problem later this summer.

The track will be open for Practice today from 6:30-8:30pm. We have a nice
dry track and it is in good shape (smooth) as well, we will be out working
on the track tonight during Practice and we could use your help. With the
rainy season upon us it looks as if we may start opening the track on
Thursday evenings. We may do something like if we cancel Sunday racing we
will race on the following Thursday weather permitting.
TOP OF PAGE 05-08-2006 ALMOST NO RAIN TODAY
It was grey and cloudy all day and we did get some rain today but it was
more like a mist than rain and the track did not even get wet. We did go
out and work today but all we did was mow and pick up some trash out front.
The track is almost dry today but we have showers in the forecast for
tomorrow but we did today as well, never really made it today. Once again
we had a motorcycle riding on the track Sunday morning, it really did not
do much damage but it still should not have been on the track in the first
place.

With the rain yesterday we will cancel races for today. The track was very
wet but not much erosion has occurred. Some of us will be out working
during the day but we are not sure to the time just yet. We will be working
to clean up around the track and if the grass dries up some we will be
mowing a little.

It was grey and cloudy all day today and we did get rain but it was slow

The weather was much cooler today and most of the day is was cloudy but we
did have some very light sprinkles late in the evening and it looks as if
we will have more coming tomorrow. The track is dry and we did not work

and our forecast has rain tomorrow, it looks as if we are into the Spring
Rain cycle now and timing is everything for races and practice.

More rain was is store for us late this evening and did not end then. Not
much came to the track and the track is still dry but a little rough in a
few places. As we have been saying we will be out working on the track

The track will be open for Practice tonight, now is the time to get that
last bit of practice in before the Super National in DeSoto Texas this
coming weekend. Any rider who intends to travel to Texas needs to get as
much practice on the track as possible before the weekend. The track is
dry with a few places that a a little rough but we will be working to get
them cleaned up tonight before and during practice.

We will cancel our race today due to wet track conditions. The track was
hard hit by the rain and is very wet and muddy. We had some standing water
in several places around the track and the entire infield between the 3rd
straight and the rhythm section was flooded and underwater. What a mess
and since we have rain in the forecast for the rest of this week we may not
be able to practice or ride the track till next week. We will have to wait
to see what Mother Nature has in store for us over the next week.

It is now 5pm and the rain has stopped and the sun is out for the time
being. We have had over 1.4 inches of rain at the National Weather Service
in the last 24 hours, good for the plants but bad for the track. Later
today we will announce about races for Sunday. As it looks we will not be
dried enough to race tomorrow but who knows what will happen.

Due to the rain today we will cancel our Clinic for today. The track is
wet and we have more rain in store for this evening and maybe tomorrow.
If the rain stops early tomorrow we will be out working on the track to

stops, if it stops tonight or early in the morning we will be out to work

Our weather forecast has rain for tomorrow and Saturday. We will have to
watch the weather and see about racing Sunday. If the rain stops early on
Saturday we will go out to work on the track to try to get it dried out so

may have to cancel our Clinic tomorrow and maybe even cancel racing for
Sunday.

We could not have ordered better weather than we had today with the cooler
temps and clear skies it was really nice for a change. The weather forecast
does not look good for the weekend and we will have to wait to see what
happens before we can make a decision on our Clinic Friday and races on
Sunday. Our forecast has 100% chance for rain Friday and 60% for Saturday
so it looks as if we will have a wet weekend ahead.

We had it all today with a real mix of Spring weather coming to town and it
was real exciting to watch the weather men report on the weather. At one
time we had 2 tornadoes on the ground about a mile or so from each other,
one did not do any damage to speak of and the other trashed a couple
airplane hangars about 40 miles west of the track. They both then died out
and about 1 hour later the entire storm had died to light rain only. Just
another Spring day in TORNADO ALLEY.

We will race today with Sign ups from 1-2pm. We have a nice day on tap today
and it looks as if we may get some rain today long after races have
finished. We could use a little rain for the grass and other plants and to
settle some of the dust we have. The track is in good shape with a little
loose stuff around but smooth and ready for racing.

Today was warm and breezy and we are to have about the same for tomorrow.
Our weather forecast has a small chance of rain late Sunday evening and
into Monday and Tuesday but only a small chance. We could use more rain as
the state is about 10 below our normal for this time of year. As long as
the rain comes on a day we are not having Practice or Races we will be OK.
We had an interesting night at the track Friday evening with a small crowd
making it to the track. It was a great evening and everyone had fun, we
even got a few things looking good around the track while we were there. As
this is Spring we also got started mowing for the year, KILLA (our mower)
was out and around reeking havoc on the grass. We also will be trimming on
our trees soon to clear more shady areas around the track.

In an effort to make it easier for riders to attend and spent time at the
track we have changed the day of our Clinics to Friday. Todays Clinic will

riding skills. A move to Fridays will allow riders to stay later for more

It is the time of year for the races and the weather to start heating up.
With the new riders and our long time riders showing up our races have
begun to grow. We have now scheduled our State Qualifier Race and our
Race for Life will follow soon (on being scheduled). We hope the year is
getting better at the track and hope to have some more changes soon on the
track. With changes a track challenges riders to become better in both
their riding skills and the ability to adapt to changes.

waiting for some cooler weather as it was near 100 yesterday but it is
supposed to be cooler tonight and the rest of this week. It looks as if we

You know it is funning that we neglected to change the phone message for
Sunday and some people really did not know what to do about that. It seems
that those who called the track has to cuss and complain if everything is
not perfect for them. We hope everything is OK now as who ever it was has

but we hope they got over it. Looks as if the individuals who run the track
are the only imperfect people around and we do not have to get so upset when
something is not just right, it is a good thing as very few times are things

Once again it was time for working on the track today and we had some little
projects which got some attention. It is the time of year to begin mowing
at the track as the grass is growing even though we haven't had much rain
so speak of. The track saw some work on the 2nd straight and more is in
store for the next week as we get that part of the track back in tip top
shape for racing. With the wind today we won't have much sweeping to do
to get the loose stuff off the track as most of it is half way to Kansas
tonight.

You know things have a funny way of coming to the surface in life. Working
at a BMX track can lead to many things and one is watching a young person
grow to manage life. It is these times that make spending volunteer time
at our track is so much fun for myself. After raising children it is most
enlightening to watch other young ones grow and to see the young at
heart come to the track for some fun. At times it is hard work as a race
track after all is a business and must 'make money' to survive and become
better. But it is different in that this business is not in operation for
profit for share holders or owners but to help others have a better life
by offering one a place to go and have fun.

We did have another great day of weather today but we did have some windy
conditions all day. It was a nice day with the high almost making it to 90°
weather so far this year and the way it looks we won't be getting much more
than a sprinkle over the weekend so the track should be staying in good
shape for a few more days to come.

but it was nice and warm. We had rain in the
weather forecast for several days but that has been deleted. It may be windy
but we have no rain in the forecast for at least 5 days and maybe longer,
it depends on which forecast you read.

Thanks to everyone who came to race this last weekend. Our track looked
very good and we had comments all weekend about how the track rode among
other things. Both days was a BIG SUCCESS for the track, we looked for a
few riders to come up from Texas but I guess it was to nice or rough for
them. Those who came had a great time including the Track Helpers and our
volunteers who came out to watch races. A BIG thanks to everyone who helped
things go smoothly both days.

TOP OF PAGE 04-07-2006 RAIN TODAY, RACE TOMORROW
It is now about 5pm Friday afternoon and we have been getting rain for
about an hour now. It is very light rain and we will be racing tomorrow
with Sign ups from 2:30-3:30pm. The track is in good shape and the rain has
just made it a little damp. At 4pm there was a walk of the track and we did
not have any muddy spots, with the rain stopping at about 6pm we will be
dry in plenty of time for racing tomorrow. We will be out working on the
track tonight to prepare for racing tomorrow.

At 4pm we have winds at 32mph from the west and gusting to near 50mph. With
this in mind we will cancel our Clinic for tonight. As few of us will be
out working on the track this evening after 6pm. Come on out and help get
the track ready for our 400 Point Weekend coming up starting Saturday at
Yukon BMX. Both tracks will race Saturday and Sunday (weather permiting).
Our ever changing forecast has changed with a chance of rain tomorrow and
Saturday, our rain changes were the same today as the forecast has for both
Friday and Saturday. Today we did get enough rain the get the streets wet
but is was dried out before the 30+mph winds hit us.

After looking at the track before last night it was a little under the
weather to say the least. We want to say THANK YOU to everyone who
came out last night to Practice. It was a very nice evening and most
everyone had a great time riding and working on the track. The people who
helped work on the track get a special THANK YOU because they gave
important time and effort to help improve the condition of our track. Also
we need to say THANKS to Yukon BMX for loaning their 4 wheeler. We will postpone our Board Election till next April 16th.
Our Clinics with Dennison Smith will resume tomorrow. If you want to see
some improvement in your racing skills now is the time to attend a Clinic.
You must be an ABA member, have your riding gear and bike to enjoy learning
how to win.

Today will be a good day to come out and Practice at Sooner Pearl. We will
have practice from 6:30 to 8:30pm and our customary $3 fee applies. With
all the hard rain we got Saturday night the track is in good shape since it
has dried out. We will be working on the turns this week and will be out
at the track working each evening the rest of this week. With the last 400
Point weekend upon us the track needs to be in great shape for the weekend.
Look for rain to have an impact on the track schedule this next month or
two as we are getting into the Spring cycle where we have a couple days
with rain and 2-3 days without. The timing of the rain can have a big
affect on when we cancel events. We will postpone our Board Election till April 16th.
TOP OF PAGE 04-03-2006 PLAYIN' IN THE DIRT
What a day we had here today. No strong winds mostly clear skies and near
70° for a high today. It was real nice so nice it was time to get to some
dirt work on the track. With a couple pick-up loads of dirt we loaded up
coming out of the second turn to fix a mud hole. We will be getting as much
fresh dirt as we can some will go directly on the track and some will go on
out dirt 'bank' for our rework of the second straight. We may have been way
off base thinking our main drain for the second and rhythm section may not
have gotten filled with dirt. It seems there was a dump of dirt, rocks and
rubble on top of the end of the drain and it had collapsed and/or broken
back in the creek bank. This caused it not to drain well and we had thought
that meant we would have to wreak havoc on the big triple. Now we will wait
to see waht happens when we get more rain before the triple gets 're-built'.

We will cancel racing today due to rain damage to the track. The track is
dry enough to ride on but our turns took a beating from the hard rain last
night. All 3 turns are to rough to race on today. We have some standing
water off the track and 3 muddy spots on the track. We will be out working
on the track today after noon, we will address the muddy spots and begin
working on the turns so we will be able to have Practice Tuesday evening.

The sky was clear this morning and has turned cloudy this afternoon. It
has been warm all day and the forecast high is around 80° with a 30%
chance of rain so we will not see much rain today. The track is dry and if
we do get some light rain it would be good for the track. Our forecast is
much the same for tomorrow with a slightly higher chance of rain and our
wind will change direction sometime during the day. As long as we get no
hard rain overnight we will race Sunday.

We had another nice day today with some clouds and winds today but no rain.
The south wind today was very gusty until late afternoon when it did start
to let back off. The evening was nice with light winds and a very colorful
sunset with clouds on the horizon at sunset. It was warm after sunset
and still at the track as the sky darkened but the track was lit up nicely
as OG&E and their contractors came out to work on our courtesy lights
today. The are working but have a little problems which will be corrected
next week.

No Clinic today, sorry due to racing schedule Dennison Smith will not have
a weekly Clinic tonight. We will resume the Clinics next Thursday evening.
If you are interested in attending come out to the track next Thursday at

, he can teach you how to get faster. A 2 hour Clinic is $15.

Our 'change on the drop of a hat' weather forecast is starting not to look
good for the weekend. We have a chance of rain for both Saturday and Sunday
but the highs are looking mighty nice at near 80. We could use more rain
but our order is for rain on Monday and Friday only! So this weekend rain
just has to stay very light and late in the day.
Our Clinic for March 30th will also be canceled as Dennison will be out of
town next week for a National race. We will resume the Clinics on April 6th

Another Practice day is upon us and we are looking for YOU to come out and
get a ride on the track tonight. Practice is from 6:30-8:30pm and our
usual $3 fee applies. We have rain in the forecast for the next 3 days so
tonight may be the only night for track time this week and we will have to
keep an eye on the weather for the weekend racing. We do need the rain so
right now we won't complain to much if we get more in the next few days and
who knows we may be able to get dry before Sunday for races.

We had a little more dirt added to our growing pile for the track today. If
the dirt pile gets big soon we may be in store for some remodeling soon.
Our next track project is to freshen up the second straight so watch out as
something may be different soon. We want to thank those who have been
trasporting the dirt to the track and as always we could use some help. If
you have a truck which you don't mind hauling dirt in we could surely put
it to good use. If we are not getting rain Saturday afternoon we plan to
once again work on getting more dirt moved as we never have enough of the
good old Oklahoma red dirt. Who said it was clean? NO BMX is dirty business
and we have fun making it that way. See you at the track!

Sooner Pearl will race today with Sign ups from 1-2pm. The track will be a
little under the weather but is looking good. We have no muddy spots and
our rain was not enough to cause major damage to the track, mostly just get
some much needed moisture on the track. The moisture was good as it makes
working on the track much easier as we don't have to water so much before
starting our work.

TOP OF PAGE 03-25-2006 NICE DAY
Our weather was great today and the track did get some work today. We had a
few people out working today and some of our spots which had water standing
from the last rain were worked on today, at least 2 places should be in
much better shape when we get the next rain. Over all the track is in good
shape with most areas smooth and only needing packing a a little water to
be back in great shape again. Our rain was nice with the exception we had
to cancel a Practice and Race but the track is in good shape as the rain
made a few places that needed to be wet and worked on got the wet part and
we will be working on them this next week.

Today was windy and dry. Seems that is what our weather is most of the time
. Wind is a part of life here as it is in the Plains States, the dry part
will only last for a while. Our state is known for the wind around us and
a BMX racer here should get use to having it as a factor in a race. When
riding at an outdoor track wind can be a very important factor.

bad and only muddy in a couple places. We will be able to race Sunday as

Our weather forecast has snow for tonight, currently we are forecast to get
less than 1 inch of snow so the track will be wet tomorrow (if we get snow)
so we will more than likely cancel our Clinic for Thursday evening. We will
cancel for next week as Dennison will be traveling out of town to race in
the Winter National in Phoenix the end of this month.

The track is still to muddy to use so we will cancel Practice for today.
Due to the cold temperatures and wind we will not be out working on the
track tonight as planned. It looks as if we may have to cancel our weekly
clinic on Thursday if the weather forecast holds to be correct as it has
us in the lower 40's for a high and possible snow on Wednesday evening.

The track is muddy and did have some standing water but not much. After all
the rain we got the track is in good shape it was suprising to walk around
and see very few rough places and most of the track was smooth. Just a
little on the wet side to work on but not bad shape. If the sun comes out
and we have some wind tomorrow we may have Practice Tuesday evening. Even
if we don't have Practice a few of us will be out working on the track
tomorrow evening.

No racing today as the rain has been coming down most all day.
The track is wet and muddy and the sky is grey so no drying will happen.

grass soon.

TOP OF PAGE 03-17-2006 NO RACE TODAY AT SOONER PEARL
At 8am we had some light rain or sprinkles and at times moderate rain in
the city area. Sooner Pearl is now to wet to race today and we will be
canceling races today. The current radar outlook is for more rain today
and it looks as if we will be getting some heavy rain during the day if the
storms in the Texas panhandle moves into Oklahoma City. We will be updating
the site as the day goes by on races for Sunday..
TOP OF PAGE 03-17-2006 WHERE IS THE RAIN?
It is almost 10pm and the rain has come and gone. The roads are dry no
rain is falling and from looking at the weather radar there is no rain
coming. The track is dry. As it stands now we are racing Saturday afternoon
, have not heard from Yukon BMX but that would mean that races are on
there as well. We will update the site early in the morning but the phone
will be the best place to get the latest news on races.

We will have CLINIC tonight from 6-8pm, each session will be $15, we will
have a Clinic for the next few weeks on Thursday evenings. Beginners will

We are looking hard a the weather forecast for the weekend and things are

Sooner Pearl will race today with Sign ups from 1-2pm. We did get a little
work done yesterday during our WORK DAY and the track is getting back to a
real smooth condition. The weather today should be nice with little wind
and warm temperatures and it looks as if we will have another dry warm
week ahead. Our weekly forecast already has rain for next weekend so we
will be looking at the changes during the week. YES Sooner Pearl will match the membership offers in March of Yukon
BMX for NEW members and renewals. We will be working (as is Yukon BMX) to
increase overall membership in the city area which is a year round job.
Increased membership means we all benefit from a larger rider base which in
turn means more competitive races and better separation of rider skill
levels and age for races. Increased rider base also improves the money flow
to each track which in turn increases the amount of improvements which each
track makes during a given year and that in turn makes the tracks better
for all.
TOP OF PAGE 03-11-2006 WORK DAY
We did some work around the track today as the weather was great and it is
time to start getting things back in shape for our next 400 POINT WEEKEND
approaching fast. The track is looking good and we want it to look better
this weekend and next weekend. The dry weather has made it possible to skip
working on the track for a few days as there is no weather related degrading
without rain coming down to wash the track.
