Now on to the racing situation in Oklahoma this weekend.
On this last day of the year our weather has changed again and if you listen
to all of them we will get rain this weekend. Currently rain chances are
40% Saturday, 30% Saturday night, 0% Sunday.
All of this means we will prepare to race and see what happens on Saturday
and if we don't get much rain Saturday we will race Sunday.
The track is ready for racing.
We will keep the phone message at Sooner Pearl up to date and this page will
be updated early tomorrow and later tomorrow evening.

OK,
Err......how should this be presented?
If you had a regular ABA number plate what would you put on it?
Maybe your District number and maybe some stickers or decals?
Or you could hang it on the wall and put a message on it?
The number plate we will give to someone on January 2nd 2005 will be
something to put behind glass in a frame to show your friends to watch them
drool as they inspect it?
What are we talking about?
One genuine regulation regular ABA number plate (the new version). SO, what
is so special about this number plate? Maybe we can explain..........

The races we have scheduled for the coming weekend will be much different
this year than our races for the last few years. We will have prizes to
give to riders who Sign up to race. We will be selling 50/50 this weekend
which should enable someone to have free gas or food for the weekend and
someone will be getting a BIG prize for coming to race.
It seems there has been many riders who have come to know and admire our
2003 AA Pro rider Warwick Stevenson. Now there seems to be a small matter
to contend with at Sooner Pearl on January 1st, 2005. The problem is WHO
will take home a December 04 BMXer Magazine and a standard issue ABA number
plate which we have that were signed by Warwick the last day of GRANDS 04.
Could you get this? Whoever wins these will have only one of the great prizes
we will be giving away this weekend. You will have to be here and Signed up
to race Saturday and present to win this prize. Tomorrow find out what
other prizes will be given away to begin this race season.

TOP OF PAGE 12-28-2004 WERE WAS THIS WEATHER......
The weather here has been great considering it is December. It was in the
60's for the last 2 days and will be like this for the next few days, at
least till next week. This has the race scheduled for New Years day in the
bag and Sunday we just may be able to get in another before we get rain, if
it does rain at all.
We will be at the track Thursday evening getting things ready for the this
weekend. As it stands today the track is dry, has loose material and is in
good shape even though we have not worked on it since around the 12th of
this month.

Even though ABA has indicated we will have a Redline Cup Qualifier in 05 we
have yet to get a schedule from ABA for the race. We had applied for 2 dates
in July and 1 date in August for our race. This may change when the races
are scheduled. We will let you know as soon as we hear from them on the
schedule.

TOP OF PAGE 12-26-2004 NOW IT BEGINS
The Christmas holiday is over now and the presents have all been unwrapped.
It is time to look forward to the 05' racing season which is upon us in a
few days. The track has been deserted for the last few cold days but today
is warm enough there are a few riders who came out to try out their new
wheels on the track. We have not had much rain since the end of the 04'
season and the track is still in good shape. This week we will have a SPECIAL
ANNOUNCEMENT about the New Years weekend races which may bring a few people
to the races. STAY TUNED!
Our weather forecast has changed and looks pretty good for the New Years
weekend. Next week we are to warm up again and most days it will be dry and
in the upper 50's or lower 60's for the high. We do however have a 20% chance
of rain on Thursday but the weekend looks great with highs in the 60's both
Saturday and Sunday.

Christmas of 2004 is upon us today. We hope this day is peaceful, happy and

This is Christmas Eve and time to think about the things we have. Let's be
thankful for our friends and family, those who work hard each day to make
our lives safe and free and this great country in which we live. Our lives
around BMX has a back seat today for our family. From all
of us at okbmx.com and Sooner Pearl BMX Raceway have a safe and Merry
Christmas.
TOP OF PAGE 12-23-2004 TRACK CLOSED
A day in the DEEP FREEZE today with brisk north winds and about 25° till
this evening then about 10° for a low tonight. We have good chances of the
same tomorrow which is Christmas Eve. We did get to see the sun today but
it was to cold to make much difference.
The long range forecast for the weekend of New Year has changed again to
less chance of rain week next week and still to cold to race on the
weekend. We will have to wait to see what happens.
TOP OF PAGE 12-22-2004 TRACK CLOSED
Ok, things are starting to look a lot like WINTER today with a big dip in
temperature and cloudy snowy looking skies. We did get a little snow but
only enough to make us thing it may snow. It has gotten a whole lot colder
and will not get better for a few days.
Today the long range forecast for the weekend of New Year has changed and
now we have some change for rain next week and warmer temps on the weekend
but it looks to cold to race now.
TOP OF PAGE 12-21-2004 TRACK CLOSED
It was cooler but nice today and the wind turned to the north which means
we will be cold tonight. It looks as if the worst weather will stay east of
OKC and we will get only light snow or ice/freezing rain tonight. They say
we won't be above freezing till the weekend. The track is in good shape
although there was more vandalism last night. Nothing was harmed except
maybe some thoughts of getting to our treasures.
Today the long range forecast for the weekend of New Year has changed but
it looks as if we will have a wet week next week. We will have to wait it
out for another week.

What a nice day we had today but things are about to turn cold and wet.
It was warm today but the wind is blowing hard and weather is moving our
way to arrive tomorrow evening. We may get heavy snow and or ice/freezing
rain.
Today the long range forecast for the weekend of New Year is for wet and
cold weather. We will have to see as this will change before the end of the
year.

As it is the weather has cooled off and we were unable to spray the grass
on the track this weekend. The chemicals have to be applied at 50° or above
we did not spray.
Today the long range forecast for the weekend of New Year is for wet and
cold weather. We will have to see as this will change before the end of the
year.
TOP OF PAGE 12-18-2004 TRACK CLOSED
What track will be hosting the Redline Cup Qualifierin Oklahoma for 2005. That question and more will be
answered in the near future. Sooner Pearl BMX has (as most tracks do)
applied for this prestigious race and has been awarded this
race. Some time next week we should have our date scheduled for the
Oklahoma
Redline Cup Qualifier.
We will be spraying chemical grass killer on the track this weekend. Keep
this in mind as we will advise riders to stay off the track for a few days.
We should be able to color the chemicals to make it apparent there has been
some spraying of the track.
TOP OF PAGE 12-17-2004 TRACK CLOSED
Well the racing season may be over but things are still happening at Sooner
Pearl BMX and okbmx.com. Scheduled racing will begin on January 1st which
is a Saturday and we will be racing Sunday also as a regularly scheduled
race. On Saturday we will be starting Sign ups 1 hour after the end of
racing at Yukon BMX and will have Sign ups from 1-2pm on Sunday. Keep tuned
in as NEWS about these races will only be posted here. The races at Sooner
Pearl BMX WILL be 2 races you don't want to miss.

We had more mild winter weather today and again no rain. The track is in
good shape and we will have some news on our long range weather for the
first of the year in a couple days. As it stand now the weekend of Christmas
we may get some snow or rain but now they are saying a slight chance of
snow.

Another day without moisture but again on the cool side with that cold wind.
Very few clouds and lots of sun it was deceiving from inside. Even with that
it has been to cold in the evenings to race as the temp falls as soon as
the sun goes down.

track this weekend. Keep this in mind as we will advise riders to stay off
the track for a few days. We should be able to color the chemicals to make

Well what a pleasant surprise we got today, someone came and mowed around
the track. This included the front sides and to the west of the track. It
was a very nice thing to see.
Another good thing happened today we had some dry weather, it was a little
on the cool side with some cool wind but it was DRY. The track is in good
shape and this weekend there will be some work on the track. We have some
Heavy Duty grass killer we will spray on the track for obvious reasons.
This (grass) stuff is nice off the track but is no fun on the track. Keep
this in mind as we will advise riders to stay off the track for a few days.
We should be able to color the chemicals to make it apparent there has been
some spraying of the track.
TOP OF PAGE 12-13-2004 TRACK CLOSED
We did try to race yesterday but not enough riders came out to race. Since
Grands we have had several days which was great weather and no riders came
to Race or Practice. With this in mind we will close Sooner Pearl for 2004.
We will be racing on January 1st. if Mother Nature co-operates and we are
warm enough and dry enough. It will be a great way to start the New Year.
TOP OF PAGE 12-12-2004 RACE TODAY
We will be racing today with Sign ups from 1-2pm.
Again we will have nice weather today with just more wind, it should slow
down as the day goes by with light winds later this evening. It will be
nice and warm again today. As it looks today the weather will change to
much cooler daytime temps that will be below or near the 40 degree limit.
Due to this today may be the last race of the season.

We will be racing today with Sign ups from 1-2pm.
More work on the track last night and things are good as the track is looking
good and smooth for the weekend races today and tomorrow. The weather will
be nice with very little wind and 60's for temps. Clear skies and lots of
sunshine should make for a great day at the track.

Sooner Pearl will have a FREE Practice session tonight from 6:30-8:30pm.
We look forward to racing this weekend and the track is in great shape with
all the work on it for the past week. We will have Sign Ups from 1-2pm both

The track is in great shape and has been getting better this week since we
have worked on it for the past week. We will have a FREE Practice
Friday from 6:30-8:30pm, this will be our last Practice of this season.
Saturday and Sunday we will be racing with Sign ups from 1-2pm both days.
The weather will be great and we want to see you at the track this weekend.

Cancel races for today.
The track is still to muddy to ride on today but it is drying out and we
will be racing tomorrow evening with Sign ups from 6-7pm. We will also
have a FREE Practice Friday from 6:30-8:30pm, this will be our last
Practice of this season. We only have a week from today till the end of our
season for 2004.
TOP OF PAGE 12-07-2004 NO RACE TODAY
Cancel races for today.
The rain has moved on (thank goodness) and the track is drying out now, it
is still to wet to ride on and down right muddy in places but it is smooth
for the most part. We will be out working on it this evening. As it looks
tomorrow we should be able to race as scheduled and Thursday race, Friday
as FREE Practice, Saturday and Sunday we will race. Sunday it is
forecast to get a little cooler but the end of this week and into next
week is going to be dry.
TOP OF PAGE 12-06-2004 MORE RAIN TODAY
Cancel races for today.
More rain has moved into town today and the track is wet and muddy. The
current weather forecast shows clearing late tonight with nice weather
tomorrow and until Sunday. If the rain clears away tonight the track will
be ready to race on Wednesday evening. We will race Wednesday if the track
dries out and finish out the week thursday racing, Friday as FREE Practice,
Saturday and Sunday we will race if this rain will ever go away!
Next week looks good today as far as the forecast goes and NO RAIN is in the
forecast for next week. We will Race Monday, FREE Practice Tuesday and wind
the race season of 2004 with a race on Wednesday the 15th.

Cancel races for today.
Rain has again moved into town, it is only light rain and at 7:45am the
track became to wet to ride on today. The rain has not washed away all the
work we have done this week so the track is in GREAT shape. As it looks
for next week we may be able to have a race Tuesday or Wednesday. This will
depend more on Mother Nature that anything else and Mother Nature has not
been kind to us this year.

Tomorrow we have a race scheduled and if the weather stays dry we will race.
The track will be a little rough but many are ready to race before the end
this race season which is December 15th. We will be open as much as possible

We will not be racing tonight due toi the rain today. AS it stands now it
looks as if we will not be doing anything before Wednesday due to the
weather today and tomorrow. We have snow in the forecast for tonight so it
appears we will not have Practice tomorrow evening.
If you didn't make it to the GRANDS you missed out on some
of the best racing this year. It was up for grabs as to who was doing the
best on the track in Tulsa this weekend. Our riders had no problems as
they have had to race on a damp and loose track before. As it was the track
was awesome in the lay-out and build but due to all the wet weather we have
had the dirt was very damp and that affected the track all weekend long.
Oklahoma District #1 had a few riders who made it to the mains yesterday
and all of them did great in their moto's. We will have their results
posted this week or you can look on the ABA site for all the race results.

The track is still to wet to ride on today so our Race is cancelled. That
is a something we have done a lot of this year, we hope we have better luck
with the weather next year. Till then we will go to the GRANDS and have a
great time also see a few out of state friends.
Today there was much work done in Tulsa at the EXPO Center. The track is
finished and chalked for tomorrows practice 'day'. We did not make it to
Tulsa early enough to get pictures today but we will have a few tomorrow.
If you have not arrived in Tulsa and are coming in on I-44 think about
using the Harvard exit as Yale & 21st. has road construction and may
cause delays. Harvard is on the west side of the Expo Center.

Again we will cancel Practice due to rain and muddy track conditions. We
have had rain most of the day and are expecting snow this evening or tomorrow
morning so we will CANCEL OUR RACE FOR WEDNESDAY. Sorry our phone is out of
order today it should be working again tomorrow or that is what we have been
told.
Thursday the GRANDS will start and we are going to be there.

news from the races for those who don't attend. We will be racing after the
GRANDS starting Monday the 29th.

in this week at the track. Thinga are OK as they used a lot of time and
energy to make a mess but that is all as once again they were unable to
get to whatever it is they were after.

What a rain we had early this morning starting at about 5am. It was darker
at 8am than at 6am this morning and the track got a good dose of rain. The
track is in good shape and ready to race when it dries out.
We will have our annual election the end of this month so if you are ready
to get involved in the operation of Sooner Pearl now is the time. We will
be taking nominations during the month and the election will be on the 31st.

We will be having our annual board election next month on October 31st
before our race that day. Starting Sunday October 3rd we will start taking
names of those who wish to be elected to a board position.
The last few years have shown there are many people who want to race here
but most don't want to get involved in the track and the
Parent Association which operates this track. We need your HELP.
BMX racing is a great sport which affects not only kids but also adults.
Check out the NEW BMXer mag, one of the first letters
shown in the 'incoming' section is a case in point. Have heard it many
times before 'racing has probably kept me out of trouble' and there you have
it. Isn't a persons life worth enough to help a little? The thought of
helping another do something good for themself isn't enough? Remember our
family and friends look at us and what do they see?

We did not go to the track today and no work was done there today. It is a
the time of year when it starts to cool off and the evenings are nice and
cooler than this summer. It has also stopped the raining every other day
as it has all summer this year.

had more valdalism. The place is a magnet for more than riders and racers.

Again we had to cancel due to the track conditions. Our continued problem
areas were muddy after yesterday mornings rain. The 1st straight was very
muddy and in several other spots we had problems with mud. As it looks we
are at 24 hour turn after a rain before the track can be used for races or
practice.

Word on the 'grapevine' is there is some big problems at Sooner Pearl. The
person(s) who are spreading these rumors needs to talk to the Track
Operator about these problems.
We all know the track has not been in it's best shape for some time due
to a couple of things mainly weather and the entire LACK of people coming
out to help work on the track when it is in bad shape. For those who want
to talk bad about these things, if you do not like things then it may be
time for you to get in gear and help a little.
Due to the fact most of this year the track has been kept up by less than a
hand full of people we think it has not been bad at all and there has been
many days we have not seen 1 volunteer come to offer help.
The way this and other tracks operate without help from volunteers not much
has or will change. Many times it is our volunteers who make the biggest
difference in the appearance of the track and sometimes the operation of the
track.

What a day of racing Sunday was and after the dust settled the 2004 State
Champions got their awards. Some came to race after the BIG race at Sooner
Pearl and picked up an extra 100 points. We had a great turn out for our
Single Point race after the Championship race. The rain held off till much
later in the evening and we had a good night for races with some wind and
warm temps.

Today is the day the 2004 CHAMPIONS will be on the track racing. Yesterday
was the warm up for this race and it will prove to be very HOT here today

TOP OF PAGE 09-03-2004 STARTED TODAY
Yukon BMX got things started for the 800 POINT WEEKEND and the Oklahoma
State Championship Weekend races tonight. This weekend should prove to be
one of the best weekends of racing in Oklahoma this year.
Sooner Pearl was empty last night with only 5 rides showing to race and 2 of
those didn't even get out of their vehicles before leaving. More work was
done to get ready for this weekend even though there was no race.
The weather forecast has changed and shows a 30% chance of rain late Sunday
evening. All races should be run as scheduled.
Sooner Pearl will be closed today for the GRAND Nationals in Tulsa.
