06-30-2003 NO RAIN
The rain moved on out and the track was hot with racing last night.
We had a good turn out and the racing is getting tuff.

We will race today if the rain moves on past town before the
race starts. Check the message machine if you are here in town before
you head this way. It looks as if we may have some rain today in town.
At 11am the rain looks to be about an hour away and moving slow.

The weather was HOT today and it looks as if Summer has made it to the
city again this year. The winds are up and the sky is clear, with the
High temp pushing toward 90.

There was a great turn out for races last night and many had some real
fun both racing and watching. The weather was real nice for a June
evening and the wind was turned on LOW.

We raced SPEED BMX last night and we had a good turn out. Everyone was
ready for the lightening fast rounds and then we all went home to watch
the STATE QUALIFIER on TV. It was great and it shows the action of that
race and the riders who competed.

The track was alive with riders yesterday. The races went smooth and we

The city was visited by rain early this morning, the Weather Service
shows we got .26 inches before sunrise. The track in in good shape
with a BIG SUPRISE this morning. Our now famous 'Starting hill' wet spot
seems to have weathered the storm well this time.

The weather was warm and the riders came out last night for a great
evening of races. The action was HOT as riders racing for the first time
at Sooner Pearl and the rider count was up. It made for a set of good
moto's with beautiful puffy white clouds and sun it was great.

Due to rider demands we raced yesterday. Another night of 'SPEED BMX'
and we had some fun.

The Sooner Pearl BMX State Qualifier race is history now but yesterday
the racing was hotter than the weather. We had a great turn out of
riders from all over the state.
THANKS to everyone who came to race and have a good time. We do hope
everyone had a good time and invite each to come back and race again
soon.

The rains missed Sooner Pearl at we are ready for the race tomorrow. The
Weather is forecast to be partly cloudy with a chance for rain just like
today.
GREG ROMERO scheduled a 'Clinic' for today at YUKON BMX but due to the
rain today it will be at Sooner Pearl after the State Qualifier Sunday.
If you are interested in Signing Up for this clinic mention it to one

RFL YUKON BMX
The Race for Life at YUKON BMX was run today just before the rains
moved in to town. There were 59 rider who came to help raise money for
the race today.
During June we will run a RESCHEDULED Race on Tuesday evenings
instead of our scheduled Practice Session.

We did NOT race yesterday due to lack of riders. Only 9 riders came out
to race. Since Yukon BMX will have their 'Race for Life' Saturday and
we are having a State Qualifier next Sunday the riders who did show
got in some 'gates' before we shut down for the day.

Top of Page06-07-2003 WEATHER 'WHAT WEATHER'
Today you would have had to tell me about the weather, it was a Super
Work day for the webmaster. With ton's of work to be done it has begun.
If you have noticed the site has not been updated much the last couple
months. There is a reason for this. It seems that the luck was not in
our corner when it came time to upgrade the 'old' computer. After the
'old' computer died and a replacement just couldn't 'cut the mustard'
and more than a few hundred dollars it appears 'luck' is back.
Some of the long awaited DIGITAL pictures will start showing up soon
and a few other things are in the works.

It seems the weather today was a bit on the warm side for this time of
year. It was HOT and HUMID today with cooler weather forecast for
tomorrow.

Top of Page06-01-2003 REDLINE CUP QUALIFIER, Sand Springs BMX Sand Springs
39 moto's, 150+ riders and some GREAT COMPETITION! Today was a great day
to go race in Sand Springs. The weather was nice and if you stayed in
the shade it was really nice. The track was in great shape and the riders
had to get used to the NEW track layout and it proved to be more than
some expected. Many riders down and some races changed in an instant
when riders started going off the track or from crashes.

Let us all give thanks to our family and freinds who have passed on

We will be racing today with Sign-Ups from 2-3pm. We will start Sign-Ups
later due to having to enter the Mobile Mini trailer. Mobile Mini
was unable to get out to work on the doors after the damage from last
Wednesday night vandalism.
The track is in good shape but does have a couple wet spots which are
workable and should be dried to race today.
Happy MEMORIAL Weekend and start to summer. This is the time of year
when riders start to appear out a the track after other Spring sports
have finished up and now school is out for the summer.

We got some much needed rain this morning. The is wet and things are
starting to green up around the track. We should be able to race
Sunday if we don't get any more rain.

Another night when people wanted to destory things came to the track. The
Mobile Mini was the focus of the rage this time. The doors were damaged
and if we wanted to get into it we would have had to break in too. What
a sad thing.
On a better note there were TV people out at the track again last night
shooting video for the upcoming broadcast of the State Qualifier race.
This will be one race not to miss and show people there are many who like
to come out and both compete and watch others compete.
June 15 is the day to be at the track, this will be a day which will
help show others about BMX. The broadcast of the race will be on Tuesday
June 24th at 9pm on KSBI channel 52 (Cox channel 9).

We will race today as scheduled. The track is a little rough and needs
some work to get back to the smooth condition we want it to have. Riders
need to come to the track and get ready for the State Qualifier that we
will have in less than a month away.
This year we will have a TV crew at the State Qualifier race to tape the
race for broadcast later next month. Look for some promo spots which
will be airing the next few weeks on local Channel 52 (KSBI). This will
be a first for Sooner Pearl, we hope this will start a trend for all BMX
tracks. Local TV stations can help all tracks with getting the word out
about BMX.

Once again the rain has come and gone. The track is a little wet and
will be dried enough to race Thursday. It is a little rough from the
rain but it will be the dry season soon and we will be praying for rain
to make the track easier to work.
The track is looking better this year and will be much better before the
summer is over. This year we will finish the fencing and should have
grass growing all around the track. With many rocks being taken off the
track each week the track surface looks better than it has in a long
time.

Saturday kicked off the Oklahoma State Championship races and it was a
GREAT beginning to this years races in Oklahoma. There is some NEWS to
the races this year which may have many up in arms and sorry they didn't

Race for Life
As most of you already know the Race for Life has become a 'Race for a
Tracks Life'. With the requirement of raising $2000 in donations to
enable each track to continue to have a Double Point 'Race for Life'

THE TRACK
The track is in good condition and is looking much better now. Since we
have been 'missed' by the major weather these last few weeks and what
rain we have had on made the track easy to work.

The track is on its way to great with the work done today and what will
be done this week before next weekend. This 1st straight had some more
surface work today with the 1st turn getting a re-rack and pack. It
looks more like a turn today.
We again had tornado's on the ground here in the city last night. A
smaller and skipping one crept into town just after dark and laid
waste to the west, north and northeast sides of town.
LONE STAR NATIONAL
The LONE STAR NATIONAL in Humble Texas is this weekend. Some
riders from Sooner Pearl and OK01 will be traveling there to race. GOOD LUCK TO ALL

Races had to be cancelled yesterday due to the weather. Seems Mother
Nature once again tested our SPIRIT here in the central Oklahoma area.
An F4 tornado ripped a path through Moore, Oklahoma City, Midwest City,
Choctaw and Harrah before moving out in the country and then
dissipating into the sky.
At 6pm Thursday the track was very wet and the infield area were for
the most part underwater. We have not had much rain today so we should
be able to race Sunday.
WORK DAY Saturday 11am till ??? If you would like to help get ready for
the race next weekend come by the track.
LONE STAR NATIONAL
The LONE STAR NATIONAL in Humble Texas is this weekend. Some

YES we will be racing today. Windy and warm weather today. We had no rain
overnight and the track is in great shape and there will be some riders
who will notice the track has changed.

We raced today and the weather was near perfect. We have some good motos
and riders who don't usually race here were here today. We want to say
to everyone who came out today THANK YOU!
NOTICE
We have had several out of state riders who are ready to travel to
race on Sundays. With this in mind we have changed our update time to
Saturday evening for our Sunday races. This will allow traveling riders
time to drive comfortably here. It will also change our margin
for 'calling' a race. It will be a trade off and you will have to use
your own judgement. As always it is a good practice to check the track
web site or track phone.

The weather forecast is for rain tonight and tomorrow. Just to bad we
don't race on Friday, the weather today is great. Little wind and clear
skies with temps in the 70's.

We will be racing tonight and the weather is GREAT today. The wind has
moved on and it is fairly calm today with cool temps, it should be
nice tonight.
We did get some dirt this week and it sounds as if we may get more soon.
The current plan is to use this new dirt to work on the 1st straight
since this area has not had any work in years and most of the rest of
the track has been rebuilt in the last year.
The weekend looks as if we may get some rain on Friday and Saturday. The
track is in good shape and if the rain stops at least 24 hours before
Sunday sign ups we should be able to race Sunday.

Thank you to all the riders and parents who came out to race on Sunday
April 13th. With the NATIONAL in DeSoto our track was short on regular
riders and parents (Track Officials). We 'broke in' some parents this
weekend who had never ran the gate or worked in staging etc. Some of
these folks were from Kansas, so once again THANKS!
Heard some good words about the NATIONAL in DeSoto last weekend. Sounds
as if the OK01 riders had their share of trophies to bring home from
Texas. As always we like to hear great things about all riders from
OK01.

The WORK DAY yesterday was good with much work done on the first straight

for moving this summer. We should have some nice grass around the track

We tried to have races last night but the weather and luck was not on our
side. Sign ups had opened and about time to close Sign ups is when it was
decided to CALL OFF RACES. A storm front was barreling down on the city and
as we were leaving 'lighting' started to crack just south of the track, it
was time to get HOME.

The track was busy with riders yesterday and the races were HOT.
The track is in great shape and the weather was near perfect for races. If the
wind hadn't been blowing quite as hard it would have been a perfect day for
races. We had a good turn out and a good crowd to watch the races.

With the rain we have had for the last 2 days we will not have Practice

done during our regular race/practice schedule, the track will not be

We got some Freezing Rain and Snow today and will be getting more tonight.
The track is muddy in our 2 problem spots, other than those the track is in
good condition and should not require much work to prep for races. The weather

The weather was just bad today with a high of only 10 and strong north winds.
Some areas north of Oklahoma City got 20+ inches of snow on Sunday. The track
only got about 1/2 inch and is fairly dry for all the moisture we have gotten.

The weather was cold in the morning and warmer in the afternoon but the weather
was not very important today as the races were HOT!
What a great day of races with Oklahoma District 01 with even more riders today
than yesterday and it looked as if we came home with a truckload of trophies
from todays races. Yukon BMX sold 50/50 tickets todays and gave away $304 to
a real lucky winner today what a take.
The Sooner Nationals will be here for only one more day so you need to come out
and watch or you will miss some great racing action. This race is second only to
the GRAND Nationals in Tulsa. If you don't go you will miss seeing riders from all
over the US and maybe even some Canadian riders as the ABA has ventured into Canada.
Maybe even riders from around the world, with AA PRO, A PRO, GIRLS PRO riders
competing for National Points.

Today was the first day of the Sooner Nationals.
Oklahoma District 01 had a great show of riders for the Pre Race today. The track
is different from last few years and it is a long track with some great jumps
and turns. Today Sooner Pearl sold 50/50 tickets and gave away $75 to a lucky
winner.
The Sooner Nationals will be here from Feb. 21-23. This will be the largest
race here till the GRANDS in December (if they continue in Tulsa). If you

The weather has turned around again and it was real nice today with a few
clouds and 70° temp. The cold weather is supposed to move back
in Saturday and Sunday. The track is damp again but should be dried by
Sunday for races.

There was some snow over the weekend. It seems there were no races Sunday
because of the snow and cold weather. Looks as if Yukon BMX was not able to
race Saturday as well. Lets hope the weather is nicer these next weeks so we

There was races at Yukon BMX today, 12 motos with 40+ riders. The weather was
nice (70°+) but the wind was quite strong. The weather is forecast to

This weekend has a full schedule of races with both Yukon BMX and Sooner Pearl
having races scheduled for the first time. The races on Saturday are scheduled
at Yukon and our regularly scheduled Sunday race. The weather for
the Saturday race looks cold. Sunday looks much better and we hope that
Saturday turns out to be a day the weather people were wrong about.

Races as scheduled today. It was a little on the cool side but the wind was on
the light side and it was overcast. Air temp was about 40 during races. We had
32 riders and 10 moto's today.

We have scheduled a OKBMXPA Board meeting for January 18 at 6:30pm, this also

Yukon BMX Raceway had a FREE Practice session on today.

Top of Page(405) 235-3602 Track phone has info on Practice and Races.01-09-2003 WE RACED TONIGHT
We had our races tonight as scheduled. It was pretty cool tonight with a
brisk north wind which was gusting to 30 mph and an air temp of 42. The wind
chill index was about 32 during races tonight.
The track is in great condition and is dry. Tonight which was the first time in
some time we had computer problems. We have the updated software now and will be
working on getting it into the computer Friday or Saturday.
The weather will control if we race Thursday. Watch here or call the track
phone for the latest info. The track is dry for the most part except the
second turn which seems not to dry completely.
The weather was the BEST today. It was 70 and clear with very little wind,
we couldn't ask for better weather. Let us hope it lasts for a few more
weeks so we can get this Winter over.

We had a great Practice as scheduled yesterday.
The riders came out and the weather was pretty good for our Practice session
Tuesday evening. The temp made it to 50 and with winds very light which
made for nice weather to get out and work hard on the track.

We raced as scheduled yesterday.
The track was a buzz with BMXer's. We raced and it was GOOD. The track is in
good shape and the weather was beautiful. With sunny skies, very little wind
and not a cloud in the sky and it was NICE. We had a few out of town riders
and they all got to hear the announcement of the 1st. Official race at
Yukon BMX,
the race is scheduled for January 18th and Sign Ups will be from 1-2pm. If you
want to practice the track there will also be a Practice session that same day
from 9:30-11:30am. The Practice fee is $2.00. Check the

web site for the Latest News. Don't miss this race!

We will be racing as scheduled today with Sign Ups 1-2 pm.
The track is in great condition and is dry. We have been working on getting
more work done on the 1st straight to correct our drainage problem
areas there. This should be better soon if the weather stays warm enough to
work outside.

There was is OKBMXPA board meeting tonight.
The meeting will be to discuss our financial situation among other things. There
will be some changes in the routine at the track soon watch for them.
Another nice day today with some wind and great temps. The high today was 60 and
it looks like we will be there again tomorrow. Next week looks good for both
Tuesday Practice and Thursday races. The weather is forecast to change Friday
and be cooler next weekend.

There was no work done at the track today.
The weather was sunny and calm with a high temp of about 60 degrees today.
What a great day, to bad we were not racing! The forecast has changed
slightly for Sunday now the high is forecast to be 55-60 with some clouds
but no rain or snow. We may even be able to get in a Practice night before
the weather turn bad again. We will see.

No races tonight due to the cold temps.
The wind chill is hovering at 32 degrees at 4pm.
Today the weather was cloudy and colder with a high of 43 with winds from the
north at 10-20 mph. It was dry and it looks as if we will race on Sunday.
The forecast for Sunday is 60 degrees and clear.

Top of Page01-01-2003 LET THE RACING BEGIN !
We had some races today and they were GOOD
The track was damp in a couple spots but the races were hot and fast.
Most of the track was dry, our usual bad spot at the starting hill
but the other spot is the 2nd turn. Seems the new turn is shaded by the
lip. And water that gets on the track in the turn don't dry even in good
weather conditions. Bet both spots change soon.
The weather was great today till the end of races. The wind was from the
south in the morning and changed just after races ended. Then
20 mph north wind blow in with clouds and the 53 degrees turned to
45 in about 15 minutes.
