NEW YEARS EVE
So today was not bad all things considered and we have the Ringing in of 2010 tonight. Our weather was somewhat bland today with not much wind, a little sunshine but near freezing temps all day.
The New Year is upon us and we have to say 2010 will be another historic year for BMX in Oklahoma. We hear in a short time Miami BMX will open. As we have said we will open the New Sooner Pearl in 2010. In the short term the outlook for 2010, no racing tomorrow.
One thing is sure Sooner Pearl will not race in January.
The next big race on the calendar now is Sooner Nationals. January 22 - 24
The 2010 Sooner National may prove to be different than any of the series so far. Each year the track is awesome due to the generous arena. What will be new for 2010?

BIG MELT
The Christmas Eve blizzard really started to disappear today. Some back streets are still bumpy but the main streets are now clear of snow and ice. The Sun was out today late in the day that is what burned a lot of snow away. It was almost nice with a south wind and well above freezing temps.

YEAR END NEAR
This time of the year many take time away from work to spend with family and friend. Some of us are lucky enough to have entire families present for Christmas, Thanksgiving or the New Year. The year is soon closing a time to look back at the last ten years and see what has happened in ABA BMX.
2000 - 2 ABA tracks in Oklahoma. 2001 - GRAND NATIONALS - One word HUGE. 2002 - Sooner Pearl under new management. 2003 - Yukon BMX opens. 2004 - 400 and 800 Point Weekends start at Yukon and Sooner Pearl. 2005 - Sooner National and GRANDS set new standards for Oklahoma BMX events. 2006 - Sooner National has double turn track. Work on New Sooner Pearl begins. 2007 - Sooner Pearl closes. 2008 - Sooner State BMX opens. 2009 - Sooner Pearl track built. 3 ABA tracks with 2 others opening soon.

In 2009 ABA helped to open 18 new tracks, the most in any year. In an Economic Downturn our sport has grown and set records. It is becoming clear 2010 will be another big year for BMX in Oklahoma.

CHRISTMAS HOLIDAY ENDS
It was another fine Holiday Weekend day. Well maybe still a little on the cool side but nice none the less. Now that the Christmas Holiday is over we have New Years coming soon then of course the Sooner National. Now less than one month away will be this race and it will be big. As the second UCI event the riders will be here to get an early start on the 2010 season.
Hey we made it to 36° today and the wind was way to below 10mph.
We have more snow in our forecast will we have a White New Years?

CHRISTMAS DAY 2?
With Christmas Eve sort of interrupted by a blizzard, today turned to the next best thing to Christmas Eve for many. Travels was much better on the highways but the city streets. If you had been here you would know what we are talking about on the streets.
We did however get above freezing today which helped thaw away some of the 8-14 inches of snow. There was however some ice around which really made things pretty hairy driving with a 35mph wind and gusts over 60mph. Maybe its a wonder many more did not see this coming and made it home safe and sound for Christmas.

CHRISTMAS DAY
What a beautiful White Christmas Day. Today was a day to spend at home because it was very difficult to go anywhere. With a record amount of snow coming down yesterday and blizzard like conditions. Drifts of snow over the tops of abandoned vehicles on local streets and Interstate Highways.

CHRISTMAS EVE/BAD WEATHER
What a day it was today. A Christmas Eve most will remember the rest of their life if living in Oklahoma City. Interstate Highways closed. Heavy snowfall, whiteout conditions. Multiple vehicle accidents, trucks blown of the highway. A that is only the start. Many stores did not see those last minute shoppers. The driving was brutal. Rain started about 4am, turned to sleet about 8am. By 9am there was about an inch of snow, by 11am there was 3 inches. As the sun set we had 24°, wind from the north at 39mph and it looks like the snow is about to stop falling. It seems like we will have a White Christmas in Oklahoma City.

NOT BAD FOR WINTERS THIRD DAY
For a December day it was all right as far as the weather was. A mild morning starting off at 42° we then made it to 55° for our high. Not bad considering what we have in store for the Christmas Holiday weekend.

BAD INCIDENT
Today we are getting of the BMX track and on to help a BMX family. Last night in Eatonville, Washington 2 Pierce County sheriff's were shot at a residence. Sheriff's Sgt. Nick Hausner, 43, and Deputy Kent Mundell, 44, were shot while responding to the domestic disturbance call at the residence. Kent Mundell has two young BMX racers who race in the Seattle area. Kent was in critical condition with life-threatening wounds at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
Please this Christmas Holiday pray for the Mundell Family.

NOT BAD FOR WINTERS FIRST DAY
It was a little on the windy side but it was again a very nice day. A better since it was the first day of Winter. After a morning low of 22° we climbed up to a warm 64° for our high of the day. The wind was 11-22mph from the south and that south wind blew in a very mild day. It has been 19 days since we had any moisture. It is dry here again.

NICE DAY
Today was a nice day, our high today was 60°, our morning low was 23°. The morning was a little crisp today but as the day moved along it turned to a really nice day. It looks like we will have another nice day tomorrow before the rain moves in on Tuesday. If we get any frozen stuff it looks like Wednesday evening since we will stay above freezing tomorrow till Wednesday evening.

NOT BAD FOR SATURDAY
It was a little overcast early this morning more like a haze than clouds but in the end the sun came out and we did warm up a little. Early this morning pur low was 34° and we climbed up to 42° for our high of the day. The wind was 10-24mph from the north, if you could get out of the wind it was not to bad.

NOT BAD FOR OKLAHOMA
Today was again a nice day and it was warm enough to roll down the window and drive with some fresh air blowing in. We did have a nice brisk north wind at about 13mph but the sunshine and warm temp made us forget the cold for just one more day. Our high today was 58°, our morning low was 27°.
The weather forecast is for about 10° cooler highs for the weekend but still not bad for this time of year. Today is 15 days since we have had any moisture falling so things are getting a little dry. We do have rain/ice/snow in the forecast for mid week next week.

RELAYING MESSAGE

WARMER TODAY
So we did have a little of a warmup in store for us today. After getting down to 17° this morning it warmer all the way up to 53° for our afternoon high. They are saying it will be as cold tonight as it was this morning but it should warm up a little tomorrow. After 17° this morning the afternoon seemed more like short sleeve weather.

COLD ALL DAY
The weather was again more like Winter today than yesterday or the day before. After hitting 70° last Saturday and 54° on Sunday it was much different today with our high of only 35°. Again the wind stayed up over 15mph which made it seems a little colder than it was but hey it is almost Winter (December 21st) but you could not tell it today. We will have much colder overnight temps for the next few days but the highs will get back to the 50s (we hope) tomorrow according to the weather forecast.

OK, SO WE GOT IT WRONG
After we had come out and mentioned Dennison Smith the other day and his win at GRANDS we got word we were incorrect in our statement. It seems the first A PRO to win GRANDS from Oklahoma was none other than District OK02 rider Shane Vincent. Five years ago Shane made history for our state.
Still not so bad. Oklahoma has 2 A PRO GRANDS Champions. Not many states have 2 of these Champs since there has only been 32 GRAND Nationals. Thats just a good thing for our State.

BEAUTIFUL DAY
What a little time and so wind can do to change the weather. Today was a nice day by any standards. Sunshine and 70° today was all it took to make a big change. Even this morning was mild compared to the last few cold days, 25° was our morning low.

INFECTION
Geez, one would think surfing the internet is a half way safe thing to do right. Not for some. A lot of work and time was spent today cleaning up the riff-raff from a not so nice group of people. All it takes is one quick click of the mouse and splat, there goes the computer! Now 28 Trojans a couple virus' and a computer which is a boat anchor. With a few scans and some tlc most of the time things can be back to normal. We were lucky this time.

RACE SEASON END IS NEAR
The calendar is coming to an end and that means the end of the 2009 race season is near. With only this weekend, Monday and Tuesday left of this season it is time to get in that last race and get the Christmas presents wrapped.
OK so the bottom dropped this morning. Our low this morning was 11°. We think that is all the cold weather we want for a while. For the rest of the it could not get much colder so we warmed up to a respectable 39°. We did get a little south wind today which helped warm things up.

PAPERWORK, PAPERWORK
For a track that is not in operation there sure seems to be a lot of paperwork. Most of the evening was spent making more paperwork. Glad that is over for now anyway.
Not real warm today and we got down to 14° early this morning. Things did not get much better but we made it above freezing to a balmy 35°. At least the wind was near calm, by far the lowest winds we have had in some time at just of 4mph average.

OK, SO ITS ONLY A FIRST
There a people talking about the 2009 GRANDS. Many went to race, many failed to qualify. Some broke bones, some broke bikes. Then there are the ones who got to race Finals on Sunday. The qualifing was intense racing at its best. The Final motos were far more than intense.
Then came a First. Must we repeat. None before him have. Dennison Smith, one of our local PRO racers won GRANDS as a PRO.
Need we say more.

DRYING OUT
We may be drying out but we are also getting colder and colder. It did very briefly make it to 41° today, it was a short lived high. Our morning low was 25° and it was lower as the sun set. It looks like we will loose the bottom tomorrow night with near single digit lows. Most all of the first Winter Storm of 2009 missed Oklahoma City. Do we have more to come?

NOT LIKE YESTERDAY
Most of the day we were below freezing. The rain started early this morning and lasted a good part of the day. Not much moisture fell, there was little ice. All the ice was gone when the sun came through the clouds and then it started to cool down again. The moisture was gone well before the freezing started later in the day. Its going to be cold tonight!

LIKE YESTERDAY
This day was almost a repeat of yesterday with a cool morning low of only 37° and we made it to a nice 47° for a high. The sun was out most of of the day but we had thin clouds with heavier clouds moving in tonight. The weather shows a small chance of moisture but not till Monday night and into the day Tuesday.

The wind came back today and like yesterday if you could stay in the sunshine it was not bad outside. The south wind drove in some warmer winds and we made it to a high of 48° after a low of 19° this morning.

MORE COLD AND CLOUDY
The weather did not change much today from yesterday however it was a little colder for the start of the day this morning. We got a good freeze today with a morning low of 24° and not going up much from there. Our high was 37° and we had a little wind. The lack of wind almost made it nice if you could stay in the sunshine, what sunshine we had today.

It was not one to write home about, today that is. It was cloudy most of the day. We made it to a high of only 37° after a low of 27° early this morning. It may be colder late tonight than this morning. At least we did not have much wind till late in the afternoon. Heck it is snowing in El Paso so it is not to bad here.

So things are not looking good today. It started raining late yesterday and we got over a quarter inch of rain so far. To add to that it is getting colder tonight. A light freeze tonight. Looks like we may have a cold weekend ahead.

LAST GRANDS
The year is coming to an end, the racing year anyway. Just think soon we will have new tracks to race. Miami BMX will be opening soon. What is coming in 2010 will be more BMX history in Oklahoma. Think about this our state has had 2 new tracks open in 2 years. BMX is forging ahead, Better look out.
The 2010 GRANDS are only a year away. We have it good...

GRANDS A PRO TITLE
The year 2009 will be remembered by many as a year of hard work which paid off in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Today was a good example for a new A PRO racer from right here in Oklahoma. Congratulations are in order to Dennison Smith for winning in A PRO class. Dennison has just turned A PRO and this win was a good show and a great race.

GRANDS RACING HAS BEGUN
Today was the first day of GRANDS and it was like no other. With the sickest ABA National track in a long time it was a little old with a lot of new. With 3 different courses to ride it was a flowing mass of track to say the least. The racing on Friday showed it was a fast track.

Well the time is upon us and today we have a short time to get in a little practice before the racing starts. WORK DAY
Today was just plain nice. A great day to be outside working on those Winter chores we all have each year. This weather, it was something to talk about today. Little wind and 63°, not a cloud in the sky till late in the day. Nice. We had a morning low of 45°.

WORK DAY
Todays work was not related to the race track. Many other projects have been waiting for attentions and they will get it this weekend. As that work got started we are all working to get ready for GRANDS next week. 'T' town is just up the road and there is a big event ahead.
We only made it to 59° today, our morning low of 48°. The wind was again low today so it was really nice for this time of year.

We did not get an early start today but we did get some work done. Not that any of our work is unimportant but today was a day we have been working to for a long time.

WEATHER
It was another pretty nice day today The wind was up a little today but it was not bad. Our high was 68° and our overnight low was 27°. By far the coldest moring this Winter. Warm daytime weather is out the window for a few days as we have a cooldown coming and a slight chance for rain in the next 3 days, then warm again. That is Oklahoma weather.

COLD AHEAD
Today the temperature goes up a little to 51° after a morning low of 39°. The wind slowed a notch only 14-25mph but it came from the north and that made it feel colder. It was an evening when the cold crept in as the clouds moved out. A spot of cold has moved in.

GONE IS THE RAIN
What, the rain came as fast as the wind and now it is gone. Looks like our string of dry days will recycle again. One day and counting.
The temps for today was another story. A little cooler than yesterday. We made it to 44° only 2 degrees above our morning low of 42°. The wind stayed up today only 19-29mph. It was cool with all that wind and it was overcast most of the day.

RAIN TODAY
Not early today but this morning we did start getting rain. A good slow rain which will soak in nicely. It was about time for some moisture. The rain moved by pretty fast and after a few hours it was down to a very light drizzle. Even as the sun went down there was a light drizzle falling.
Our high today was only 55°, that was not much of a warm up from our morning low of 51°.

16 DAYS-NO RAIN
Not much change today as far as the temperature goes. It was cooler, our high was 60° and the clouds moved in very late in the day, Thin clouds which had not rain. It looks like the rain will move in tomorrow. We had an overnight low of 54° so things didn't change much today. We did lose a little wind today which made it OK for this time of year.

WINDY AND COOLER
This weather is just crazy. Up and down, day to day. A different story each day. It was another windy day which started out coll with a morning low of 48° then we had a high 69°. The wind built its way up during the day until after sundown when things calmed down a little. We are to have a cold front move in tomorrow which will drop our temperature and more than likely will bring more wind.

WARM AND WINDY
It was not to last long, the wind was back again today. Yesterday out wind was 3-13mph, today was 14-22mph. So it was dry again today and we had a high of 71° which was not to bad. Our morning low of 50° still not to bad for this time of the year. The wind was another story.

WHAT WIND?
It may have been just another nice day today but it was not like many we have this time of year. Without a cloud in the sky and almost no wind it was another beautiful day. Making it to 68° today after a mild low of 53° early this morning. WOW.
We do have rain in the forecast but as it stands now that is timed for the weekend and late weekend at that. We will see but things are getting dry here again and cold weather is not si far away.

Not only has this month been dry it has been 12 days since we have had any moisture. We are looking at another string of 70° plus days. Today broke the 70s but not the dry weather. It was a nivce day with a high of only 62°, that was only 7° above our low this morning. The wind was down low again today which made it really nice.

GREAT DAY
Back up today our high was 77° with almost no clouds and the wind was low as well. This mornig was damp and foggy with a little drizzle but again no rain. Our overnight low was 54° which hardly shows the season.

NO RAIN
Another 'rain forecast' day which turned out to be a dry day. A somewhat nice day if not for the clouds, at least the winds backed down a notch. We had a high today of 73° after a morning low of 54°. All things being equal a nice day unless you wanted rain.

The weekend is upon us and the forecast for rain is still here but there has been no rain at all. Today made 9 days since we have had any moisture which is not usual for this time of the year. The weather has been nice we get up to 77° after a morning low of 53°. The wind was brutal today so maybe we have some weather moving in here. If these winds stay up the weather will be gone soon as it gets here.

WARM AND WINDY
Today was the 6th day we have been above 70° and we are to be like that for several more days. It was 76° today after a low of 53°. The winds came back into high mode again today. Take away the wind and we had another beautiful day, we have a couple more ahead. Nice weather for Fall.

It was so nice today, it was 74° with almost no clouds and the wind was low again which was a good thing. It stayed warm after the low of 48°. It could not have been a much nicer day with clear skies and a near full moon to great us this morning.

The weather was just plain great today with little wind and almost no clouds all day. We had a high of 73° after a low of 43°. The winds again were low so it was a very nice Fall day.

So the string of nice days have come back for a while this month. As the trees have started to change to Fall colors we are to have a run of very nice days to look forward to. Also no rain is in the forecast for the week. We watched it get to 70° after a morning low of 45°.
We had a chance to get a little work in today. There has been a change in the construction of the new track. We still have a lot of work ahead but things are changing for the future.

Since we did not have time to work today at the track we were just to busy with other work and watching BMX on G0211.com. Now most of the year we have been much to hard at work to sit and watch racing but today was one we needed to see. Today was the start of something which has been in the works for so time now. Some of you may know Dennison Smith, a local rider who has been working to make a name for himself in BMX. Well today Dennison added a new item to that name today, PRO. The wind came back today and cooled us off a few degrees today. Even though we only made it to 65° from a low overnight of 37°, which was the new lowest overnight for the Fall. With a good timed warmup we had a great day of weather today. Our high 72° after an over night low of 39°. The wind did slow down a little today with 10-24mph with a gust to 31mph.

What a day it was with something of a warm up and a step up in the wind. Our high temperature for today was 76° up from a new low for this month of 38° early this morning. But all the wind was another story, our winds were 20-30mph with gusts to 40mph. It looks like something is moving in as far as the weather goes. Whatever it is it is moving fast!

More news is coming out from Miami BMX. An update dated today has info on more dirt and Track Work Days. It is nice to hear there is progress there and we are looking forward to see that progress soon.

We did get rain and it hung around most all day. Most BMX familes here in the central part of the US had never had the pleasure of getting to know Mike Raich. Another BMX family member who has passed to the Great Track in the Sky. Mike was a very well known Track Operator in the NW part of the States. Mike was a true volunteer who worked and played BMX for many years. As one said:
There is not a track in Western WA that Mike did not help & support. He had ran most of them at one time are another. Mike was not only a Great T.O. but also a great Friend & teacher. This is a great loss for all of BMX.

RAIN TODAY
The day started out with rain, shortly before midnight this morning was when it started. Only 10 hours of light rain which will soak in the ground and keep things green for another couple weeks. The grass will continue for some time ahead.

The cool weather of Fall is around us, With that in mind we have our second rainy season ahead. Today was no exception. The weather today looked like we were in for some changes, big changes but everything moved to the southeast of the city. Just knocking on Norman the storms stayed many miles from the city area. For the most part it was a dry day but there were some showers around. Most of the rain missed the city area, to the southeast of town. It was a nice day with a high of 78° after a cool lower night of 50°. The weather for our upcoming weekend is looking like warm and dry.

COOL DRY DAY
It was dry today but there was rain around just not in the city area. We had a mostly cloudy day, damp in the morning and more so later in the day. Our high was 69° after a low of 48°. For a time it looked as if we were to get some rain but it just ran out of gas south and west of the city.

At midnight today we had clearing skies after getting much more rain today. In the last 24 hours the unofficial NWS data shows we have had 1.42 inches of rain. We do have showers in the area but these are very very light showers and most of that rain will not make it to the ground. LITTLE RAIN
The day started out with very light showers over much of the area around the city area. Not much more than enough rain to get things wet then off moved the rain. Out rain has been unusual in that these storms have moved from the east into Oklahoma and then turned south to circle back toward the east.
We had clouds all day and that kepy our daily high well below our average for this time of year. Our high was only 67°, that was only 4 degrees above the overnight low last night.

STATE FINAL, MORE RAIN
Many had come to race but were not able to do it today. Since the race today was cancelled yesterday we have had rain almost none stop. Most of the day we had light showers over the central portion of the state. After all was said and done we got about 3/4 inch of rain today. with the rain came cool temps for today with our high coming in at 70°.

What is there to say but things got all wet today. After a day of on and off showers things are now wet everywhere here in the city area. LOOKED LIKE RAIN
Most don't understand the weather in Oklahoma. Since we live on the border of 4 different weather zones we have so days that are pretty crazy to say the least. No matter how you slice it the is no sense you just have to wait to see what happens. Today was another one of those days. While driving east today on I-40 when it was raining on the north side (west bound) of the highway but dry as a bone on the south. So it seems this is the case for Yukon BMX who are reporting no rain and races to go on today.

RAIN, MORE RAIN
After what rain we got yesterday evening we made a trip to the track property to find Sooner Pearl had some heavy rain last night. Most of that rain formed over town and most of that rain was south and east of the center of town which is where the new track is located. Many areas on the east side got heavy rain and high winds but no tornadoes and no damage. Things were spotty today with clouds most of the day, little wind and high humidity all day. We did have a few very little showers but no real rain most of the day.

LATE RAIN
Well our weather forecast has again changed with more chances and more percentage of rain chance for the rest of this week and until next Monday. It was again very warm with a high of 95° and most of the day our winds were calm to just under 10mph. The wind did not change the heat and our humidity was also high most of the day.
Evening brought us rain over much of the city area. A huge line of heavy storms brewed over our heads about 5:30pm and moved south. Areas had very heavy rain, high winds and some hail. It looks like we may have more later tonight but that rain is staying mostly south of town and should not affect us.

STATE FINALS, RAIN
With this short week ahead we have the Oklahoma Championship Final to look forward to next weekend at Yukon BMX. As it is every year if you have raced in a Qualifier and plan to race the Final you should have checked your STATE POINTS ahead of this important race weekend. Today we had another warm and wild day. Our weather forecast has changed again since yesterday, check the OKC 7 day forecast from the National Weather Service for the lastest info. The city area did not have rain today, all the rain brewed just north and northeast of the city area and some places had heavy storms late this afternoon. Sooner State BMX in Ponca City had to cancel Practice just an hour before their normal scheduled time due to heavy storms. Miami and Sand Springs also got rain today. Our high today was 95° and the wind stayed up around 20mph most of the day.

NO WORK ON LABOR DAY
Today we took off work for the Labor Day holiday. No work on equipment or the track was performed today. A few of our volunteers have been spending a lot of time either at the track or off track working to get the new track open in the last 2 years. Please understand we are working to finish and open the new track.
Our weather today was back on the rise again with a daytime high of 93° and the wind was back up to near 20mph, the wind did not cool things much today. Our weather forecast has a small chance of rain starting mid week but next weekend is forecast to be dry and cooler.

WORK, WORK, WORK
Today we spent some quality time working on the Bobcat. Since we have been unable to find out just where our problem was we decided to do a whole lot of cleaning this little monster today. We spent over and hour at the local car wash cleaning out the grime so maybe we can see our problem now. We will see soon.
Another warm day today and we made a run for 90° but we only came close with 89° and again the wind toned down a little. It was the hottest day so far this month but we have more hot days ahead and we have rain in the forecast. The rain may be here a soon as Wednesday.

MOWER WORK
We had showers around again today but no rain for the city. We have had no rain this week, considering our weather forecast we should have gotten some but not yet. It is beginning to look like we will have a dry weekend after all over the Labor Day holiday. It was 86° again today and the wind was about the same as yesterday.
We did have some time today to work on our mower 'Killa', It seems this mower was having a problem or two. A couple of us spent some quality time with Killa and now all seems well, we will torture test in maybe this weekend with a little mowing around the race track.

NO RAIN?
The weather forecast has had a chance of rain in it for the last 3 days and we have not had any rain so far. Today we had rain come close and after it moved southeast of town it became intense but no rain again today. It was was little warmer today with a high of 86° and the wind stayed below 14mph so it was warm to say the least.
Today we worked on the Bobcat late in the day but we still did not have much luck in finding out where our problem area is. We will be working on it more over the Holiday weekend.

SMOKE FROM CALIFORNIA
We were told today we had smoke imported to Oklahoma today thanks to the wind and the wildfires near LA. Didn't really notice it but it was somewhat cooler today since we had a high of only 76° and the wind was 17mph. It was a nice day and we had more rain in the area but none came down in the city area.

RAIN AND COOLER
OK so the rain never quite made it to the city but there was rain just outside town. We had clouds, we had wind but the rain just missed us this time. We made it to 83° today and we had winds over 20mph. It looks like our chance of rain is increasing but not much and if it is like today we may not see any rain at all.

RAIN AHEAD
Our weather forecast has changed and we have much more changes and a better percentage of rain ahead this week. Over night the forecast now has a 20-30% chance of rain over the the remainder of this week and entire Labor Day weekend. As the sun went down today we had clouds moving in to town and rain was starting in the Texas panhandle headed west toward Oklahoma. At about 11pm the New Mexico storms died out entering the Texas panhandle. At the same time we had storms moving into the northwest from southwest Kansas.

MORE FALL TYPE WEATHER
This weekend the weather has been great, we had very cool mornings and daily highs. Since we were working on other things again this weekend this nice weather was not a help for work at the new track. Our weather was dry and we had another chance to get a few items in line away from the track.

FALL WEATHER
What can we say, it was just plain nice weather today with our high for the day only getting into the 80s very late in the day. Our overnight temps have been Fall like these last few days. Our air conditioners had another very welcome relief from our Summer daily high temps. The mornings have been cool with our overnight lows getting near the 50s.

NO WORK THIS WEEKEND
Once again we will not be out to work at Trosper Park this weekend. We have benn working to repair our Bobcat and our Dixon mower. We have had to order several parts, wait for them to come in and then put those new parts on both pieces of equipment. It looks like we may have this under control this weekend or next week. We are looking forward to getting back to our work.

WELCOME 'MIAMI BMX'
Well it is official now! We have a name for the new track and they have a new web site and domain name, miamibmx.com
As things go they are in the process of getting dirt delivered, it looks like they are 10 yard dumps. That may seem like a lot to most and after all that is about 10 tons of dirt (a lot if you have to move it with a shovel). In the grand scheme of things like a BMX track that is 3 loads with a loader. Only thing is they will need over 1000 loader scoops to build a track.

MORE RAIN
So from the looks of it the rain is over for a few days. We had rain early this morning and showers around the area most all day. Rain moved into town about 5am, this was heavy rain again after last nights rain. The again in the evening about 6pm more heavy storms came but most of it was on the east side of town. The later rain was not as heavy as this morning. Even with the clouds, rain and the fact the high was about 83° the lack of much wind and the humidity made it feel like yestersday 95°.

HEAVY STORMS
Late today we had some real heavy storms move into town, things were really rocking and rolling for a while. Most of the heavy stuff was in the east side of town but most everyone got a little rain from this system. We had a high of 95° like yesterday but the wind did pick up some. MORE CHANGE AHEAD
So what do we see ahead for the BMX scene in Oklahoma? After almost 8 months of the year gone by there has been much change. We have more in store for the last 4 months. Many things have changed but what has really changed? Another track is about to open, Sooner Pearl is still not open. There has been and increasing amount of talk between the tracks. It also looks like we have another change which will affect all the local tracks coming soon. What will that be, soon your will see.

RAIN CHANCES
Although we had a respite from the heat only a few days ago now it is back to visit again. From the looks of our forecast we may have a few days ahead which will be more like normal mid 80's but it looks like the rain may come again soon.
From what we have heard the Kansas State Championship race was a very big race. Some may be very sad they were not able to attend. There was a very good rider turnout and the racing was great!

VERY NICE WEATHER AGAIN
My how things have changed in this last few days. We have had some very nice weather and no rain. It was a little warmer today with a high of 90° and the winds are up again today as well. NICE WEATHER
Today will prove to be the coolest day this week with a high of only 85° and very little wind. It was clear and we had another great day. Things have nearly dried from our heavy rain the other day and things have really started to green up again. More mowing ahead.
Many riders from Oklahoma will be traveling north to Wichita Kansas this weekend. Emery Park BMX will hold the Kansas State Championship Race this weekend. Good Luck to all those who travel to this BIG race!

NO WORK AHEAD
Another cooler day today with a high of only 88° and another very cool overnight low of 69°. It was very nice early this morning! Our winds were also low today which really did not matter that much.
There will be no work at Trosper this weekend. We are working on other items not related to the track this weekend. Next week we will be working to finish repair of the Bobcat and work will resume at Trosper.

A LITTLE MORE
After the rain we had yesterday this was nothing at just over a quarter inch it was almost a non-event. Things were pretty windy today with 11mph with a few gusts up to 39mph. Our high for the day was 91°, we had an overnight low of 65°. This cool weather has given a lot of air conditioners a little relief from the heat!

RAIN, RAIN, RAIN
It can a 'gully washer' early this morning. Not very strong and no tornadoes but we had some rumbling going on before the sun came up. A very large 'squall line' had cleared the city area around sun up this morning dumping more than an inch of rain over much of the state and is moving east at about 40mph. One nice thing was it was much cooler today, it made it all the way to 84°.

WORK AHEAD
Another hot day but we didn't quite make to the century mark. We topped out at 96° and we had some wind to stir up the dust all day. As the sun set our weather forecast changed dramatically and we have rain headed our way. A huge line is moving across the state, it spans most of the state north to south. For the speed we will have rain around midnight to 1am tomorrow morning.

PLATE FULL
'Miami BMX' (what we will call this track until we hear otherwise) has signed on as an ABA sanctioned track. Work is to start soon on the track and we hear the City of Miami is lending a helping hand.
Sooner State BMX, major damage to water, electrical and gate wiring systems.
Saturday morning there was quite a lot of work going on at Sooner State BMX however it was not the work of volunteers of Track Officials. Vandals damaged or destroyed several water spicots and associated enclosures/piping, wiring for the starting lights, wiring to the starters tower, piping and wiring to the starting gate and staging railings on the starting hill.
Sooner State BMX will be closed until these items can be repaired and or replaced. Let us hope they get their new fence installed soon.

VANDALISM AT PONCA CITY
It is only a matter of time till this happens. There seems to be a rampant move to destroy facilities which are not manned 24/7. In the last year there has been a rash of vandalism at local BMX tracks. Emery Park BMX has been the hardest hit but Ponca City and Yukon have also seen their share. Even though the new Sooner Pearl track has not opened we have also had dumping and motorcycle/4-wheeler riding to mention a few. Today someone took the time to do major damage to Sooner State BMX. They have announced they will be closed till further notice. What good are these kinds of actions?

NO RAIN
Another day that the heat was turned up a little more and so was the wind. We started off with 68° this morning and made it to 90° for a high. Our winds were 10mph gusting to 18mph and there were clouds moving around but none seemed to have any rain for us!
There have been a few asking what is happening with the new track? At this time we are working to get our water service connected. Once this is done we will be working to arrange Work Days for the track.

WHAT CHANGES ARE AHEAD?
Now that the year is just half over the BMX scene in Oklahoma is again on the move. With a new track in the northeast corner of the state and rumors of another couple tracks starting both here near OKC and southwestern Oklahoma what will the near future have in store for us? Could we end this year on a note of doubling the number of tracks in Oklahoma? If 3 new tracks open and the new Sooner Pearl opens that is more than double our current, 7 BMX tracks and who is to say if they will all be ABA?
More heat was in store for us today with things starting to heat up for the weekend. Are we not to get far from the century mark? Our high today was 88° but we did have a little more wind today. Now things are starting to dry out again. Our rain forecast has changed, Friday rain is out Sunday and Monday rain is in.

MIAMI BMX?
There has been a little more BUZZ going around about the newest ABA track in Oklahoma. The new track is to be built in Miami Oklahoma and it looks like the rumors are in fact true. Word is the City there is helping to get this new track up and running. We have been told there will be a huge amount of dirt arriving in a couple weeks and none other than Billy Allen is scheduled arrive to build the new track. We at okbmx.com and Oklahoma BMX Parents Association look forward to this new track and wish them well.
Today we had a high of 89° and no rain. We did however have little wind and this was not much help for the temperatures and drying. We have a chance of rain in the forecast for Friday and Sunday.

HEAT WITHOUT RAIN
Now we say there was not rain today but a tiny rain shower did track over the western edge of town today around 5pm. That shower only dropped a little rain and did happen to track across the National Weather Service out at Will Rogers International Airport, only .08 was recorded officially. We had a below 90° high which was 86° but the humidity was high most all of the daylight hours. We have no rain in the forecast till Friday, the chances of rain are now shown as 30% or below Friday through Monday. We did see a lot of drying today after the heavy rain we have had.

HEAT WITH RAIN
It was another day which started out wet, got wetter then the heat seemed to start baking the results in the afternoon. We had rain roll in about 7am and it started out light then quickly turned to heavy rain with a lot of noisy thunder and lightning but no high winds or tornadoes. By early afternoon the rain moved on and things started to bake. It looks like the rainy season has started early with cycling of 2-3 days.

NO RAIN AND A LITTLE COOLER
We had another days reprieve from rain today and our high for the day was only 92° but it was again a little humid and a little windy with an 11mph wind gusting to 25mph. With the wind we had a good day of drying again today but we have a small chance of rain tomorrow.
Today was the final Oklahoma State Championship Qualifier today at Yukon BMX. There was a good crowd and the racing was intense. It was a hot day to be out in the open so many spent a lot of time under the shade of Easy-ups and shaded areas around the track. Mother Nature did not provide much shade with only spotty clouds all day.

NO RAIN!
Today was almost a copy of the weather we had yesterday and the areas which have had rain again saw a lot of drying today. With a high of 94° and winds from 15-26mph it was another warm day. It looks like the 100+ days have passed at least for some time now and we will stay below the century mark for the next few days.
Today there was some hot racing action at Yukon BMX with their Earned Double on the schedule for the day. Many state riders made the treck to Yukon and all the other tracks closed for the weekend to allow us to attend this and the last State Qualifier tomorrow.

DRY AND WARM
Yukon BMX ended today with a bang and a Single Point race to kick off their weekend of raing which will peak Sunday with the last State Qualifier for 2009. They have a Earned Double on tap for tomorrow.
We had some heat and drying today but it was only 94° today and since most of the eastern portion of the metro got rain yesterday it was a little on the humid side all day. We got in some good drying weather today and the 14-24mph winds helped get it done!

MORE HEAVY RAIN
It was a little bumpy today and the rain came heavy for most of the metro area. The north and eastern sides of the metro got the most rain and most of the extreme western sides of town only got a sprinkle. After it was all over the National Weather Service recorded 1.14 inches of rain which was the western side of town. Some areas on the north and east got well over that amount with some local amounts tipping in at 2 inches or slightly over 2 inches. It was a little cooler today if you can call 89° cooler, it was a little cooler than over 100!

UNEXPECTED RAIN
This was a day we don't see very often here during this time of season. Like many other things in our fast paced times the weather forecast was changing so fast we almost could not keep up with what was going on, we just had to set back and watch the changes. We started off warm and dry then just after lunch it all started to go downhill. About 2pm scattered heavy rain moved into the city area. These were shortlived showers but some were heavy with a little hail and a lot of lightening. Later in the evening just about 10pm more rain moved in and many places got a heavy shot of rain, wind, hail and lightening. The weather forecast was changing hourly and now we have more rain in the forecast for tomorrow. Our high for the day was 91° which was well under our forecast high of 99°.

RAIN OUT OF THE FORECAST
So for the next few days we have no rain in the forecast and high heat for the rest of the week it is going to be a another hot week of Summer weather till the last State Qualifier of the season. Our high for the day was 99°.
Again this year we have had rain causing event cancellations amny more times and it looks like it is to stay that way for the foreseeable future. This will be 4 years running that we have had unseasonably wet years. For our location this is not sometime we are used to seeing here.

So the weather is on a rollercoaster ride this week. We have at or above 100° highs for the next week and no more rain in the forecast till next week. Now consider the rain came early again today and we got just over a quarter of an inch which just knocked down the dust but didn't affect the heat of the day except to make it a little more humid. We had a high of 98° today well after the rain came.

A little rain did fall today but it was not really enough to tal about, only .03 inches came down and our high for the day was 90°. The rain came very early this morning and moxt of town did not even get any rain so we could consider it a rain free day. STORMS A BREWIN'
With storms coming every day another what has the next in store?
We did get a little reprive from yesterday from the rain but we had another day of over an inch today. In the last 6 days we have had 3 inches of rain. A lot of water which will green things up again.

Last week was a time to remember historic events from the late 60's and early 70's. The time when humans walked on the moon. Only 12 people were to ever do that, so far. One thing that sticks out in history was some of the words that were said to motivate a generation to go to the moon.
'We choose to go to the moon in this decade and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard'.

MORE RAIN
Not a typical Summer day today. It was warm but not as warm as yesterday and it was raining but not a much as yesterday. Not quite as wild but still wet. It looks like we have more rain for tomorrow and Friday a dry day. We had a high of 87° with about the same the next few days.

BROKEN RECORD, BROKEN RECORD
This could be a trend. If you repeat something enough some can believe it to be true.
Take the forecast for instance, rain, rain, rain. It looks like we are to get quite a dose of it here in the next few days. We are sure the plants will agree it is good!
Late today we did get more rain. A line of storms came across town about 9pm again the east side of town got a heavy dose of rain. Another line was about to come into town about midnight however this line will not be as heavy as the last.

This was not a typical Summer day in Oklahoma. It was however an interesting day. Our high temperature was only 77° and while the rain was cool this morning the storms moved out, the wind died down and the humidity skyrocketed. It may have been below 80° but the rain was not much help. Most parts of the west side of town got little rain while it was much different to the east.

The light rain started just after midnight this morning and lasted till later in the morning. It was cloudy most of the morning and part of the afternoon. REAL RAIN
Gosh, it only got to 99° today but we had a wild and bumpy ride ahead this evening and later tonight. Most of town got a quick heavy shower about 5pm and again later at about midnight. The early storm brought high winds and some storm damage. Areas of town lost power for a few hours and many had several momentary outages and lightning strikes. Hails was also seen in many areas.

Early this morning there were many clouds around but there just was not any rain to cool things off for us today. With the year half over it is time to start looking to the end of the season. We still have the State Championship Series to run and Redline Cup Finals along with GRANDS. So dare we talk of 2010 already? How many tracks do you see 5 maybe 6? Could it be that the state is back in a build cycle?

FRIDAY NIGHT JULY 17TH SINGLE POINT RACE.(2 MOTO TRANSFER) SIGN UPS 6-7 PM
SATURDAY JULY 18TH DOUBLE POINT RACE. SIGN UPS 1-2:30 PM
SUNDAY JULY 19TH DOUBLE POINT STATE RACE SIGN UPS 1-2:30 PM

WHAT TO SAY NOW
Today we got a little work time and was out at the track in the afternoon. It was a pleasant day with the high about 85°. After the rain we got Saturday evening it was cool and the dirt was somewhat easy to work on considering we still have no water.

RUMORS GO ON
So we have made it to July 4th and there have been no explosions yet, so that rumor is not good along with others floating around.
A while back (some months ago) another rumor was spreading around about Sooner Pearl or more correctly Oklahom BMX Parents Association, Inc. and the fact the Parents Association was no longer a 501(c)3. We need to clear this up once and for all. Please click on the following link to the irs.gov

As for the racing action for this weekend at Ponca City. All racing has been cancelled due to rain. Rain started at about 1am this morning and stopped for a few minutes about 9am. Then promptly started again about 9:45am.

UNDERGROUND
Some interesting things happen when the internet is involved these days. Most people use the internet in this world, many use it extensively in there daily life and work. At looking over the many reports for okbmx.com one that recently stuck out was a reference to the current logo on the top of this page as an 'underground road race logo'. This was a result from a well know but not much used search engine which will be unnamed.

WEATHER CHANGES
We made it another day without hitting the century mark to with a high of 95° and we had about average winds today. The winds came from all directions today since we have a frontal boundary stalled over the state. We are getting no moisture however just warm temperatures and little wind. That looks to change with 100° Friday and near that for the weekend. The weekend now has a 30% chance of rain both days and 20% for Monday.

So who said it was going to be easy?
